Nearly 2 in 3 Americans Say Government Should Ensure Health Care Coverage
The US is the only wealthy country in the world without universal health care.
All first world countries have national health care systems except the United States. 33 of 34 first world countries solved the problem decades ago. As long as the political class continues to accept money from the insurance lobby nothing will change, money talks and good governance walks.
The rich CEO’s & board of directors work with Congress to ensure profit over people… which means no universal healthcare.
The last serious attempt in this country to move to a Universal Healthcare Coverage model was spearheaded by Hilary Clinton during Bill's first term. It never went anywhere because the Republicans (at the time) were bought off by the Insurance lobby.
The next serious attempt was during Obama 1, and the Republicans and their Insurance Lobby friends stacked town halls with paid agitators who shouted "Death Panels! Socialized Medicine! Keep Government out of my body!" these kinds of things. Poor little Claire McCaskill was a Dem Senator from Missouri, and I think CNN broadcasted her Town Hall which was an embarrassing shit show.
We simply have too many dumb Republican voters in this country to ever get real change.
Find progressive politicans who will run for office and not be bought off by the Insurance Industry, and vote them in.
Too many dumbshit people in the country buy in to Trump's election sloganeering and insults and empty promise of "I'll make it all better" when all he's doing is stacking government with pals who will grift while they're in office, and then he'll fire them when the grifting gets too obnoxious, or when something bad happens on their watch -- that will trigger a Trump You're Fired phone call.
This is the America that the Republicans want, and even when tragedy and medical bankruptcy approaches, they still vote Republican come election time.
