Banning Chemtrails times 8

Eight US states seek to outlaw chemtrails – even though they aren’t real

Political leaders love an empty statement or proclamation, but when Louisiana’s state house of representatives moved against “chemtrails” last week, they were literally seeking to combat something that does not exist.

It was an act of political symbolism that delved deep into the sort of anti-government conspiracy theories that have flourished under Donald Trump and are taking rooting in some US legislative chambers across the US.

What are some other things we can outlaw that aren't actually a problem?

As long as we're doing things conservatives have been told to hate, let's throw vampires onto that list.

It would be nice to have a real imaginary boogeyman that they can direct their hatred towards instead of things that actually help people.

Can I guess if they’re red states?

  1. Florida
  2. Tennessee
  3. Alabama
  4. Kentucky
  5. Texas
  6. South Dakota
  7. Nebraska
  8. New Hampshire

The wording on at least some of them isn't chemtrails specifically, but has to do with atmospheric dispersal of anything intended to modify the climate, which is actually something that people have been talking about doing and some have actually done. While it scratches that conspiracy theory itch, it's not necessarily all nonsense.

I read the Louisiana one and it would apply to any attempts at geoengineering that involve releasing anything in the atmosphere. The existing Louisiana law still prohibits that without permission from the state, and now they're trying to get rid of the option for the state to permit it at all (in other words, it was already regulated and this is still a stupid law). They phrased it very carefully so that our normal pollution doesn't count, which I found disappointing.

I haven't read the others, but they're probably similar. The reporting I've been seeing on it has been vague and disengenuous, although that might be due to quotes from crazy politicians.

ETA also the people making the reports are specifically going to be reporting the fictitious "chemtrails", which makes enforcement useless.

Finding illegals is hard...finding legal immigrants is easy

In the last 48 hours we’ve seen video of ICE use explosives to enter a house with a couple and their child without a warrant.

We’ve seen an ICE officer threaten a 6 year old with Lukemia with their gun, while at immigration court, causing the innocent child to wet himself.

This is but a handful of what has even been seen and caught on camera.

This is nazi evil level shit and ensuring that immigration status will forever be at the whims of Two Weeks Taco Trump and his ghoul toadie Miller means this level of cruelty will not end.

What we as a people do, or do not do, will echo in history when faced with such evil.

It never was as big as problem as they say it is. The republicans killed their own bill last year that would have put up more money to border security, just so they could campaign on being the only ones to fix the illegals problem. And now, you see the fruits of their labor, they cant find all the illegals, even though they said it was a "national emergency" and they need to close the borders that they claimed biden had wide open, waving people into the country in so they could vote democrat, which they couldn't do anyways.

Please be aware of their next step here, it's extremely important:

As part of a sweeping reorganization of the State Department, the Trump administration is creating an Office of Remigration. Remigration is an immigration policy embraced by extremists that calls for the removal of all migrants—including “non-assimilated” citizens—with the goal of creating white ethnostates in Western countries.

Banning Chemtrails, seriously?

Louisiana Passes Bill to Ban 'Chemtrails'

Abill that would ban "chemtrails" has passed in the Louisiana state House of Representatives, clearing the way for it to go to the state Senate.

Republican state Representative Kimberly Landy Coates defended the bill, which passed 58 votes to 32.

Well that will be an easy law to enact.

Super easy just ban off commercial flights in and out of Louisiana im sure the state will be just fine.

The majority of the people that are creating these idiotic rules & running this country into the country are the ones that were most exposed to lead gasoline & its fumes.

Anyone between the ages of 35 & 100 were born while leaded ethyl gasoline was widely available in the US, with anyone over the age of 49 being born when it was the leading type of gasoline. That means anyone who's currently in eligible to run the country was exposed to leaded gasoline fumes when they were a child, at a minimum. And they're also the group that's most responsible for turning social media into a greedfest that thrives by spreading misery.

All because GM, Standard Oil, & DuPont were allowed to seek profit above all concerns, & have still faced precisely zero consequences for their unconscionable greed.

I wonder what's gonna happen if the "chemtrails" don't stop despite this ban.

Definition of, “everything is a conspiracy when you’re dumb as fuck.”

This bill only bans “the intentional release, or dispersion of chemicals into the environment of this state with the express purpose of affecting temperature”

So we can still disperse our liberal chemicals to make kids gay. We just can’t alter the temperature.

I like how they wanted to make ultra sure noone could use it to stop businesses dumping/releasing the normal toxic shit into the environment...

Two Weeks Again Trump started Desert Storm 3

The U.S. military struck three sites in Iran early Sunday, directly joining Israel 's war aimed at decapitating the country's nuclear program in a risky gambit to weaken a longtime foe amid Tehran's threat of reprisals that could spark a wider regional conflict.

Addressing the nation from the White House, President Donald Trump claimed Iran's key nuclear sites were "completely and fully obliterated." He also warned Tehran against carrying out retaliatory attacks against the United States, saying Iran has a choice between "peace or tragedy."

Excited to see how Mr. "No New Wars" blames WW3 on Biden.

And just like that America is now in another war, no vote, no congress, One man decided to start a war.

Just to distract from the Big Beautiful Bill and because he's unpopular and wants the wartime president bump.

Glad he ended the war in Ukraine his very first day.

Republicans own this. Do not let them forget.

Trump let Israel manipulate him into war.

You assholes who voted for Trump “because Gaza,” here you fucking go.

A liberal US government had come to a deal with Iran that prevented this completely, and Trump collaborated with a right wing Israeli government to cancel that deal, get Iran to start enriching Uranium, and inevitably force a military confrontation. Trump and Netanyahu created this in 2017 and always wanted it.

the American Dream part deux

solidarity to everyone who’s stuck in that grind and still finding the energy to push back. Since a few people asked, here’s what I would focus on if I lived in the U.S. and wanted to change this mess:

UNIONIZE. UNIONIZE. UNIONIZE.

I can’t stress this enough. In Europe, most of the rights we take for granted — paid vacation, parental leave, job security — came through decades of union pressure. The U.S. labor movement has been gutted, demonized, and sabotaged by corporations and politicians alike, but it can be rebuilt. Start small. Talk to coworkers. Normalize labor solidarity again.

DESTIGMATIZE REST.

One of the most toxic exports from the U.S. is the glorification of overwork. “Sleep when you’re dead” is not a personality — it’s a warning sign. Advocate for mental health, for boundaries, for actually using your vacation time (if you even get any). And stop treating burnout as a badge of honor.

COLLECTIVELY REJECT BULLSH*T JOB EXPECTATIONS.

Your boss messaging you on a Sunday? Don’t reply. Don’t set the precedent. Normalize saying “no” to unpaid overtime, to extra responsibilities without extra pay, to “hustle culture.” One person doing this gets punished. Ten people doing it changes company policy.

PUSH LOCAL AND STATE POLITICS HARD.

The federal system is slow and corrupted, yes, but a lot of labor reform can start local. Push for citywide minimum wage increases. Paid sick leave ordinances. Tenant protections. Local change matters — and builds pressure upwards.

DON’T BE AFRAID TO QUIT BAD JOBS (IF YOU CAN).

I get that it’s not always possible — the system is designed to trap people. But if you have a way out of a toxic workplace, take it. You are not obligated to suffer just because someone gave you a paycheck. Your dignity isn’t negotiable.

STOP WORSHIPPING THE RICH.

The idea that billionaires “earned” their way up is the biggest scam in U.S. mythology. In Europe, we look at someone hoarding $100 billion and think, “How many people had to be underpaid or exploited for that to happen?” Question wealth. Demand taxes. Support redistribution.

Look, I know the odds are stacked against American workers. But you’re not powerless. They want you isolated, exhausted, and scared. Organizing anywhere — workplace, online, in your neighborhood — is a radical act of resistance.

Wanna be dictator parade got deflation

And The Fanta Menace will report that it was the biggest, most well-attended parade in history.

The more photos I see of Trump's weak ass crowds today and from the 2024 election....the more I feel like he rigged the election to get out of jail.

He thinks gold furniture is classy, he thinks McDonald’s is fine dining, and he thinks Mar-a-Lago face is appealing. This was always gonna be a tacky affair.

Honestly, if this was about 'celebrating the troops' he could've easily just done a music concert. Like his inauguration party.

It would've look packed because the audience would've been the troops and the maga that could afford to travel to DC.

He could've even faked a fund raiser, forcing ceo to attend and donate millions.

Trump would've had a great party, great optics of a huge crowd and what he love best, grifting a few millions from rich people.

but nope, instead like always, he wanted to look 'strong' while making pretty much everyone miserable.

Trump military parade met with empty seats amid nationwide protests

The "No Kings" protests surpassed the number needed for the "3.5% rule". If 3.5% of the population participates in non-violent protest, significant political change will occur. The protests exceeded the rule by one million, with over 11 million participating.

the American Dream

I seriously don’t know how you guys do it. Watching U.S. work culture from Europe feels like watching a never-ending episode of Black Mirror, but everyone’s been gaslit into thinking it’s "just how things are."

Let’s start with paid vacation. You guys get what, 0 federally mandated days off? Most Americans I’ve met are happy with 10 days a year like it’s a privilege. In most of Europe, we get at least 20-25 days of paid vacation BY LAW. And that doesn’t include public holidays. You guys get grilled for taking a week off, while our employers basically expect us to disappear for most of August.

And then there’s healthcare. Jesus. You tie one of the most basic human rights—access to healthcare—to employment. You lose your job, you lose your health insurance. Meanwhile over here, I can break a leg, go to the ER, get surgery, and not pay a single cent out of pocket. You get an ambulance ride and it’s like "congrats, that’s $3,000."

Don’t get me started on maternity and paternity leave. Most U.S. mothers are back to work within WEEKS. WEEKS! We give people months, sometimes up to a year, with partial or full pay, and dads too. It’s considered basic decency. But apparently in the U.S., bonding with your newborn is less important than boosting quarterly profits.

Then there’s the culture of overwork. Hustle. Grind. "If you’re not working 60 hours a week, you don’t want it bad enough." No thanks. In most of Europe, if your boss texts you after work hours, that’s harassment. In France it’s literally illegal to expect people to check emails after work. You guys brag about having to work weekends. We riot.

No job security, no protections, no dignity. At-will employment? You can be fired for any reason or none at all? That’s not freedom—that’s instability. People working 2–3 jobs just to survive. You have billionaires in bunkers and nurses living out of their cars.

You’ve normalized corporate feudalism and called it "the American Dream."

And somehow you’ve all been convinced that asking for basic labor rights makes you a lazy communist? Over here, even the centrists support unions and public healthcare. You can be right-wing and still agree people shouldn’t die because they can’t afford insulin.

I’m not saying Europe’s perfect. But holy hell, compared to the U.S., we’re living in a damn utopia. How are you not rioting in the streets daily?

Sending love and solidarity from across the Atlantic. You deserve better. Seriously.

Deporting Ketamine Billionaire Musk

Steve Bannon Calls to Deport Musk Amid Messy Trump Breakup

Steve Bannon suggested a peculiar solution to the Trump-Musk breakup: Kick the Tesla billionaire out of the country.

“They should initiate a formal investigation of his immigration status because I am of the strong belief that he is an illegal alien, and he should be deported from the country immediately,” he told The New York Times in a phone interview.

Bannon trying to become Trump's buddy again now that there's an opening.

'Sore subject': White House confirms physical brawl between key Trump allies

A physical altercation between Elon Musk and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent precipitated the Tesla founder's quick ouster from the Trump administration, according to a report.

The incident was previously reported as a "screaming match" between the two men, but the physical aspect has since been confirmed by The White House.

I would expect no less from the monkeys in our White House right now.

Can we get this on streaming? I’d pay for it.

Dementia Donny Taco in Decline

Donald Trump 'may not last 4 years due to cognitive decline', Republican advisor claims

A political strategist for the Republican party has warned that President Donald Trump may not last four years as he claims the controversial leader could be showing signs of cognitive decline.

Rick Wilson, who also co-founded the Lincoln Project, has warned that some experts are suggesting Trump may be in the early stages of dementia.

The fact that he's still in office just goes to show that the people under him don't care about his cognitive abilities. They're just using him as a figurehead to use him as an excuse to be awful.

That's all it is really and it's where most of his votes come from. He represents the hate people have been afraid to say out loud and as long as he is in power people are free to be hateful. This is being used by the Republicans and his cult to spew hate.

He sundowned on live TV for over 20 minutes and the mainstream media ignored it.

The GOP is ready to Weekend At Bernie's this.

At this point it's pretty clear the whole systems fucked. Where are the checks and balances? Why has noone decided it's gone too far? How much bullshit and lies and profiteering can a president legally get away with now??

Guarantee if we can get a democrat president, suddenly the right is going to hellbent on checks and balances for some strange reason.

A centerpiece of the next Dem candidates needs to be sweeping campaign and election reforms.

It is batshit fucking crazy to me that a Doctor needs 7 years of residency and has to pass a piss test once in a while to work. How is the Presidency, the highest office in the land, open to uneducated criminals and drug addicts where the only requirement is you are 35 and born here? I had higher requirements to get a job at fucking Pizza Hut when I was a kid.

Horse. Shit. Nation.

You had one job Bleach blonde bad built butch body

I didn’t read the bill, and I knew it was in there. So, in addition to not reading the bill, she also does not read any news. What is she reading? Can she read?

Oh, she knew it was there. This is theater. This way she can support and not support the bill at the same time to please both parts of her base (billionaires and Q-Anon).

The people who vote for her and consume her content fall for this kind of speech - they’re primed to not think critically. She only cares about her reputation with her base and her donors.

She's so concerned about states rights and federal overreach.

Section 70302 of the bill states that judges wouldn’t be able to issue contempt orders against defendants who defy the courts.

Not concerned about that part Marge?

Definitely don't buy it. This is fairly non-standard for Conservatives, but not unheard of where they vote something in, let it pass then 'suddenly' find the bits of the bill they snuck in to screw people over that have made the news and claim they never saw it in the bill.

My answer to them would be, "ah well someone appears to have changed the bill then, since you all read it and this was no in there. We need to now repeal the entire thing and start again" but they would never agree to that.

Donny Taco

Trump Melts Down at ‘Why Do You Always Chicken Out’ Question

Donald Trump had an Oval Office meltdown over Wall Street’s new acronym for his tariffs: TACO Trade, which stands for Trump Always Chickens Out.

As Trump took questions during a swearing-in ceremony for Washington D.C.’s new acting attorney general, Jeanine Pirro, a reporter asked the president what he thought of the new phrase.

He was clearly unimpressed.

“I chicken out?” he asked.

“I’ve never heard that. You mean because I reduced China from the 145 percent that I said, down to 100, and then down to another number, and I said: ‘You have to open up your whole country?

He’s fucking done. The adderall isn’t cutting it anymore. My 3yo rambling niece makes more sense than he does. Lights are on but only Dementia Don is at home.

Trump 101: When asked a challenging question, Pivot to Biden.

All that talking and yet he says absolutely nothing.

He uses cult speak. Talks in circles, touches on common themes while being vague, throws out made up data points and numbers that have no reference and people fall for it.

I’ve noticed this past year he incorporated a new cadence like he’s a religious icon or something. You really hear it in this clip.
