Convicted Felon Trump Freed Felon Jonathan Braun sent back to jail

 

Another classy citizen pardoned by Trump doing stand-up things.

Jonathan Braun has repeatedly been in legal trouble since President Trump commuted his federal prison sentence more than four years ago as part of a rushed, last-minute process of granting clemency to allies and well-connected special pleaders before leaving office.

On Saturday, Mr. Braun, a major player in the predatory lending business, was arrested on Long Island on charges of assaulting an acquaintance and his 3-year-old child, according to court documents. It was the fourth time he has been arrested since Mr. Trump freed him.

Mr. Braun punched the man in the face and then shoved the child to the ground, “causing a red mark on his back and substantial pain” to the child’s back, the documents said. Mr. Braun was charged with assault, endangering the welfare of a child and injuring a child under the age of 7.

In his final hours in office in early 2021, Mr. Trump commuted Mr. Braun’s 10-year sentence for running a marijuana smuggling ring. Mr. Braun’s family used a connection to Charles Kushner, the father of Jared Kushner, Mr. Trump’s son-in-law who served as a senior White House adviser, to try to get the matter before Mr. Trump. Jared Kushner’s White House office drafted the language used to announce commutations for Mr. Braun and others.

Since then, Mr. Braun returned to predatory lending only to be banned from operating in that business by a New York State judge and a federal judge for engaging in deceptive practices. And he has been accused of a number of crimes: punching his wife and father-in-law in the head; grabbing a nanny’s breast while touching himself; trying to assault a female nurse with poles used to hold intravenous bags; and threatening a synagogue congregant who asked him to be quiet during services.

“Do you know who I am or what I can do to you?” Mr. Braun told the congregant, according to an affidavit the man signed.

Mr. Braun’s conduct has focused attention on how Mr. Trump has used his clemency powers in both his first and second terms to benefit people whose cases have often come to him apparently with little vetting. At least seven recipients of clemency from Mr. Trump during his first term have been charged with new crimes since then.

In his second term, Mr. Trump has dismissed the U.S. pardon attorney in the Justice Department and consolidated review of pardon applications in the White House, setting off a scramble from lawyers and lobbyists with connections to the administration to get the clemency applications of clients in front of Mr. Trump and his aides.

*Mr. Braun has a long history of violence dating to when he was a drug dealer and worked as a predatory lender to small businesses. He beat an underling with a belt and used threats of violence against debtors, according to court documents, including a rabbi whom he told: “I am going to make you bleed.”*

A federal judge ruled Friday that the president violated a court order to stop freezing federal funds by withholding Federal Emergency Management Agency relief to at least 19 states. The judge said that the Trump administration seemed to be making a “covert” effort to punish states whose immigration practices differed from the White House.

U.S. District Judge John McConnell issued an injunction in March on behalf of 23 states that sued the federal government after the White House moved to pause aid to states, ruling that the move ​​“fundamentally undermines the distinct constitutional roles of each branch of our government.”

Selectively withholding FEMA funds of Blue states because of policy disagreements. Literally, he's willing to have Americans killed who disagree with him.

It literally allows for ENDLESS work hours, and another bill introduced at the same time allows for paying interns and apprentices below minimum wage. It's the child slavery act, outright.

They point out that there is nothing “part-time” in the language of the companion senate and house bills currently before lawmakers, which instead will permit unlimited working hours without breaks for 14- and 15-year-olds who are schooled at home or online, and allow employers to require 16- and 17-year-olds to work for more than six days in a row.

Republicans doesn't trust their doctors

The Republicans have always been people where if the facts align with their world view(they rarely do) then facts don't care about your feelings. For everything else it's use "common sense", "do your own research" which consists of fox or Facebook. Most notably see climate change and trickle down economics before covid.

There's been studies on the types of information that people trust segmented by political affiliation - the findings were that progressives were significantly more comfortable with uncertainty, complexity, fluid concepts, abstractions; conservatives preferred concretions, static and binary answers, simpler explanations.

Republicans hate anyone educated and mis-trust all knowledge. But they will gleefully follow someone that tells them to put a UV light up their butt and eat horse de-wormer.

This is DESPERATE.  Fox works by SPINNING the bad news. That they can't even find a plausible spin on this one gives you a sense of how BAD-BAD-BAD it's going to be.

In three months we went from a world power to the laughingstock of the allied nations (which we were formerly a part of). Now we're considered an adversary with a failing economy and destroyed trade relations. We're so despised China and Japan, which have had an adversarial relationship for centuries, just made a trade alliance against us.

It's also interesting seeing what every major US and reputable world news website is showing on a given day like yesterday and today... and then checking Fox News website.

Zero mention of the stock market there today. Only mention of M13 evil gang members, something about Obama, and left-leaning liberal in some city did something. And lord have mercy on you if you venture into reading the comments section.

It's surreal. They literally refuse to report the actual news if it's *anything* that makes Trump or the Republicans look even remotely not great.

He added that existing sanctions prevent any full-scale trade with these countries.

Yes. USA and Russia has about 3bn in trade and USA just put sanctions on every country on the planet, except Russia... and Canada and Mexico, i think but that is also a no-brainer.
