He's shown everyone who he is countless times. The people are just stupid.
This is why having a “business man” doesn’t work as a president. He doesn’t know (or understand) the law and only cares about enriching himself.
Trump: Person. Woman. Man. Camera. TV. Still got it, Donnie.
Here's the thing. Trump thinks there is absolutely nothing wrong with lying. Period. He has no sense of altruism what-so-ever. In fact, he believes lying is a crucial part of success in life and business. In his warped philosophy, if lying gets you what you want, then that makes it ethical.
So, when he took that oath of office and stated publicly "I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." it is meaningless because lying is not illegal.
In other words, now in his mind he can rationalize his actions with "pay no attention to that oath, I was lying, but lying is not illegal."
Next comes the rationalizations for the base, it says "preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution..." and if he keeps the document in a sealed case, guarded by armed guards, he is complying with the oath of office by preserving, protecting, and defending the papers, while completely ignoring their intent.
Yes, he's that crass and petty to think that the words he said are up for debate as to meaning, after all, redefinition of words and linguistic manipulation are key Republican characteristics, and that they can mean whatever he says they mean because, after all, he is the President and the President has unlimited power.
Same logic that he will use to pre-emptively pardon himself before he leaves office.
That people put up with this nonsense is pretty damn indicative of what social media has done to the mind of many, many Americans.
