Marjorie Taylor Greene Wants 'National Divorce' of Red and Blue States
Republicans and Democrats have long been known to disagree, and U.S. House Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene feels it's time the two parties parted ways.
Tension has tightened between the two political parties since the 2020 election between President Joe Biden and former president Donald Trump. Some Republicans have sided with Trump on his beliefs that the election was stolen, further dividing the parties. Others believe that Democrat policies are hurting America.
Maybe it's just me but calling for the dissolution of the United States automatically makes you anti-American.
Georgia is a blue state now, does that mean we get to throw her out?
There’s also the part where almost every red state has one blue city that basically props up and supports the rest of the red state. Georgia without Atlanta is basically Alabama. Florida without its blue counties is basically Mississippi For all the right shit on democrats, the democrat leaning cities sure do seem to important to their cities.
“A sitting congresswoman calls for secession, just months after saying she wishes she had been more successful in completing an insurrection.”
That’s the correct headline.
Marjorie Taylor Greene Shares Unhinged Details Of Her 'National Divorce' Idea
In Greene’s estimation, a so-called national divorce would not bring a civil war but would instead give states more power to govern themselves. Under this system, Greene suggested, red states could temporarily strip Americans who move from blue states of the right to vote and could implement laws to openly discriminate against LGBTQ people.
“Well, if we have a national divorce, there’s no need for the Department of Education,” she said. “Red states and blue states would be in control of the education in each state.”
“They would not allow any type of gender lies being taught in their schools, LGBTQ woke teachers would be fired and not allowed to teach there,” she continued, adding that schools in red states “would allow parents to be able to choose the curriculum.”
There isn't room in our democracy for this discussion. There cannot be any kind of clean break in the US. Blue states, red states, it's all fictional, and the truth is we are interdependent on one another, and we all live together, whether we prefer it that way or not.
"National Divorce" is a PR term for what would be a hideous civil war and many, many years of kinetic and non-kinetic conflict. Allowing this discussion to be mainstreamed would be a tragic mistake with potentially immense consequences. Don't let them shift the Overton window on this one. Push back.
Here’s something republican voters can learn from germany:
Germany was once divided into two states, a democratic one and an authoritarian one. The first thing that left the authoritarian state, was almost all of the money. That was soon followed by anyone with slightly higher education.
It was so bad that the regime eventually decided to build a wall, not to keep immigrants from coming in, but to keep citizens from getting out instead.
Those who remained got poorer and poorer, because the regime was only interested in enriching themselves.
Citizens were turned into a homogeneous mass, because in the eyes of the regime, they were all equally worthless.
After 40 years the citizens had enough and overthrew their government and rejoined the democratic state.
In a way republican voters can get everything they want, if they keep voting for republicans. But they aint gonna enjoy it as much as they think.
Marjorie Taylor Greene calls for a 'national divorce' between liberal and conservative states
The U.S. fought a civil war in the 1860s after a group of southern states tried to secede to preserve the legal enslavement of Black people.
Rep. Judy Chu hits back at Texas Republican over 'racist' remarks questioning her loyalty to U.S.
Green has been known for her controversial statements — from claims about supposed Jewish space lasers’ starting wildfires to accusations that Muslim congresswomen weren’t legitimately sworn in because they didn’t take the oath of office on the Bible. But there have been indications she has been trying to rebrand herself as someone who can bridge the divides in her party as she angles to be Donald Trump’s 2024 running mate, NBC News reported last month.
Red states would fail so hard. Red states are consistently the worst states in crime, healthcare, education and use more government assistance.
When did calling for secession become a "national divorce?"
They hate America. They love the confederacy. Getting the confederacy back is the apex of their wildest fantasies. Breaking the country apart so they can have a corporate fascist theocracy.

Ms Greene hails from Georgia, a state that once tried to implement a ‘national divorce’ so wealthy Georgians could keep owning Black people as slaves
