The top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee on Thursday accused US President Donald Trump of “orchestrating a $1,700,000,000 fraud on the American taxpayer to line the pockets of his MAGA political allies” amid new reporting on the terms Trump is seeking in talks to settle his $10 billion lawsuit against the Internal Revenue Service.
Trump's lawyers. Including (perhaps especially) Acting AG Blanche have lined up this $1.7 billion payout and no one will have say. Scream for hearings to your Congressperson people. This is the worst graft in history, and we're paying!
Also worth noting the “crime” occurred under president (checks notes) Trump. So his administration does a thing, then he sues his administration and then his lawyers and his administration settle for nearly $2 billion.
He’s basically suing himself with taxpayer money and calling it justice. The whole thing is a shell game, his administration creates the mess, his lawyers file the fix and the public gets stuck with the bill.
And that bill is about $6.36 per everyone 18 or over in the US, most of whom are paying taxes. Sure that's not a huge amount, but nonetheless, Trump still is essentially forcing every American that earned any money or paid taxes to give him an average of about $6 .
If it'd have been the original $10 billion, it would've been nearly $40 he was taking.
Not just that, when he drops the suit, they cannot investigate him, his businesses, his family or their businesses.
