MTG on a roll

Cruel Marjorie Taylor Greene criticizes Joe Biden for condemning gay bar shooting

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is getting blasted online for criticizing President Joe Biden for condemning the mass shooting at a Colorado Springs, Colorado LGBTQ bar.

“Why am I not shocked that you’re downplaying the deaths of LGBTQ people,” University of California, San Francisco Professor Jack Turban asked Greene in response to her macabre tweets.

It's not just her, but the voters who elect her. Ultimately, they're to blame. I'm tired of the "Liberals need to reach out to her voters because they feel "abandoned." Nobody abandoned them, they just put people like her in office.

She's a Christofascist. Let's be honest, though: What she says is how millions of conservatives feel. She is just the latest mouthpiece for Christian hate and oppression.

Don’t know who’s worse, MTG or the people who voted to keep her in office. Absolutely disgusting human beings.

Marjorie Taylor Greene says she isn't afraid of a GOP civil war: 'We're going to fight it out'

"We're going to fight it out. I'm telling you — I've always said I'm not afraid of the civil war in the GOP. I lean into it," Greene told former Trump adviser Steve Bannon on his "War Room" podcast on Monday.

I don't think this is bad for the GOP as people think. There's no sense of decency left, and their supporters have already tossed aside facts and logic. They've already sold their voters that the other side is for tyranny and destruction. With that combination they have carte blanche to go as far right as possible.

Just look at COVID -- conservatives were/are literally ready to die and ignore the cure for their political beliefs.

So the far right wing of the party winning control, will likely result in just more people following suit.

That's the GOP for you. Always at war, always on the offensive.

Never at peace.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Uses Gay Club Mass Shooting to Lie About Drugs

U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, known for her anti-LGBTQ+ rants and conspiracy theories, has reached perhaps a new low by using the Colorado Springs mass shooting to spread falsehoods about drug trafficking and to, of course, argue against gun control.

“Tragically, 300 Americans die of fentanyl poisoning everyday in America and Biden says and does nothing,” she tweeted Sunday. “Tragically, 5 people were killed in a shooting in Colorado and Biden immediately demands a ban on assault weapons.

However, she ignored the fact that most of the fentanyl sold in the U.S. is sold by citizens. A recent study by the Cato Institute, a libertarian think tank, reported that 86.3 percent of convicted fentanyl traffickers are U.S. citizens. The study used government data.

Unfathomable cruelty is her whole thing, the novelty has really worn off though. After going after school shooting survivors you can't really go much lower. Short of her pushing kids out of wheelchairs there isn't really anything she can do to out so the awful things she has done in the past.

If we could get the GOP owned and operated main stream media (Fox, CNN, ABC/NBC/CBS, et al) to stop posting about Greene, Boebert and other extremists, they would fade away.

These extremists say crazy stuff to get attention and then they get in competition to say the craziest stuff. Just stop repeating their posts. They are minor players in a minority party. Nothing they do really affects anything.

Stop promoting them!

Noose around Trumps necks is not getting loosen

Christian Petition Against Donald Trump's 2024 Run Signed by Thousands

housands of people have signed a petition launched by a Christian organization condemning Donald Trump's 2024 bid for the White House.

Trump, at his Mar-a-Lago club on Tuesday night, became the first candidate to formally launch a 2024 campaign, following a disappointing performance for the GOP in the 2022 midterm elections. Many Republicans blamed the former president after numerous Trump-endorsed candidates lost their races.

Where we these Christians in 2016, 2020, and (until now) 2022?

They were using a immoral man to pack the courts. It's totally cool and totally legal thing to do in their "faith".

The USA should not be a theocracy. Have at your christianity in your own life. Stop using your religion, no matter the kind, to evangelize through our government. That is theocracy and has no place here.

Theocrats are by definition antifreedom and therefore should have no quarter at the American table.

Manhattan Prosecutors Move to Jump-Start Criminal Inquiry Into Trump

The Manhattan district attorney’s office has moved to jump-start its criminal investigation into Donald J. Trump, according to people with knowledge of the matter, seeking to breathe new life into an inquiry that once seemed to have reached a dead end.

Under the new district attorney, Alvin L. Bragg, the prosecutors have returned to the long-running investigation's original focus: a hush-money payment to a porn star who said she had an affair with Mr. Trump.

Can Trump ever actually be arrested for anything?? Just how far does someone in America, who is fat, rich, orange and an ex-president, have to go to feel any legal repercussions for committing crimes, such as attempting a coup, trying to cajole extra votes to win an election, lying about their taxes etc etc? It's mindblowing that he is at liberty to do as he pleases.

I always thought the Stormy Daniel case was pretty air tight. Wire fraud, bank fraud, maybe even money laundering going on there with Cohen as a cooperating witness. Plus, the entire scheme only benefited one person: Trump.

Donald Trump himself signed the checks that were laundered. If literally any other person had done this, they would no doubt be indicted.

Trump Is Pissed Republicans Keep Telling Him to Stay Away from Georgia

AS REPUBLICANS POUR party resources into the Georgia Senate runoff, Donald Trump is getting irritated at the idea that virtually no one of importance in the GOP wants him to campaign in Georgia.

In the lead-up to the contest between Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock and Trump-endorsed challenger Herschel Walker, several GOP figures and Trump allies have already implored him not to hold a Georgia rally ahead of the runoff, according to two people familiar with the matter and another person briefed on the situation. Trump — who helped recruit Walker to run — and his advisers have discussed the possibility of heading to Georgia, though Trump hadn’t made a commitment as of last week.

If Walker wins, there is something seriously wrong with the people of Georgia. The fact that Warnock wasn't even able to win outright without a runoff is pretty sad.

Nothing like watching the christian nationalists vote against a pastor, in favour of a guy who paid for an abortions.

Trump and Elon Musk are dangerous narcissists tailored to 2022 America

We likely won’t know all the results of America’s midterm election for a while, but consider two people not on any ballot who are setting the tenor for much of what we have heard and seen.

But both represent the emergence of a particularly American personality in the early decades of the 21st century: the wildly disruptive narcissist.

Both wield sledgehammers to protect their fragile egos. Both are utterly lacking in empathy. Both push baseless conspiracy theories (such as the one cooked up about Paul Pelosi).

Both are indefatigable self-promoters.

They are tailored to 2022 GOP extremist. Please don’t confuse they very very sizable majority that continues to reject it with a few million that are admittedly big enough to have an impact but in no means represents most Americans. Elon and Trump are narcissist driving their brands into the ground. They are not clever (in their cultural games), are not irresistible, and if they weasel out of accountability it will because of inept or corrupt institutions like media or the DOJ allowed them too, not because The People felt so drawn to them.

The narcissism of people who inherited fortunes from apartheid enthusiast and slumlord parents is no surprise, but the amount of simping for these people is a disappointment. Essentially any American slightly right leaning thinks these two care about them and were sent to solve their problems.

Republicans for the veteran

Republicans Praise Veterans After Voting Against Health Care Benefits

As the nation celebrates Veterans Day, members of Congress have shared statements honoring those who served our country.

Several Republicans and Democrats alike have praised veterans Friday—including the 11 GOP lawmakers who voted against a law to increase health care benefits to vets.

Congress passed the Sergeant First Class Heath Robinson Honoring our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics Act, known as the PACT Act, in August.

A preemptive post for those who will try to defend the GOP senators.

Here’s the bill.

https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/PLAW-117publ168/html/PLAW-117publ168.htm

Show us where all the “pork” and unrelated items are. If you want to claim there is a budget “gimmick” please explain how increasing mandatory spending on veteran’s healthcare magically creates an extra $400B for discretionary spending. Explain why the GOP senators voted for it, then against it, then for it again without any substantive changes to the bill.

Go for it.

"We will do anything for vets, as long as it doesn't involve doing something"

Republican party

Or the long version

  • "We will do anything for vets, as long as:
  • It wasn't introduced by the libs
  • It doesn't involve government funding
  • It doesn't involve universal Healthcare
  • It doesn't raise taxes
  • It doesn't interfere with tax cuts for corporations
  • It doesn't interfere with tax cuts for billionaires
  • It is discretionary so we can opt out of it ant time we please
  • It doesn't go to any of you gays
  • It doesn't go to any of the 45,000 service members that are not US citizens
  • It wasn't caused by any alleged pollutants that could be part of any environmental protection claims
  • It doesn't interfere with free access to cheap labor
  • It doesn't involve pork, such as health care, treatment, or medication
  • And you're not a loser

GOP's Red Wave turned in to trickle down

Americans take a stand for decency as the GOP red wave turns to dust, surprising all of us

Let’s cut to the chase: The ebullient Republicans who marched into Tuesday’s midterm elections smugly confident they would surf to power on a mighty, nation-sweeping red wave were left high and dry. Why? I’d argue it’s a testament to Americans’ distaste for indecency.

This is a nice way to look at the situation. Another factor might’ve been that the GOP offered nothing whatsoever in terms of solutions to inflation et al. Going to war against “wokeness” is all they seem to talk about, but that’s not gonna feed anyone’s family.

Their solution was gutting social security and medicare

Can never understand why the working class would vote Republican. They are the LAST people who would help you.

A predicted ‘red wave’ crashed into wall of abortion rights support on Tuesday

A surge in turnout among people motivated by the erosion of abortion rights carried Democrats to victory in races for governor, Senate, attorney general and state legislatures — defying predictions that the issue had faded for voters in the months since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.

Average Americans simply don’t want theocracy. Religious fundies probably won’t accept this and push forward, and wonder why they keep losing popular votes.

Roe, roe, roe your boat gently down this blue wave.

GOP for the debt slavery

Supreme Court again declines to block Biden’s student loan relief plan

The Supreme Court on Friday rejected a second request to block the Biden administration’s student loan debt relief program.

Justice Amy Coney Barrett denied an emergency application to block the program brought Tuesday by the Pacific Legal Foundation, a conservative legal group, on behalf of two borrowers in Indiana.

On Oct. 20, Barrett rejected a similar request from the Brown County Taxpayers Association in Wisconsin.

If you want a reminder on who is trying to prevent this forgiveness:

Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey.

Alaska Gov. Mike Dunleavy.

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey.

Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp.

Idaho Gov. Brad Little.

Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds.

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan.

Missouri Gov. Mike Parson.

Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte.

Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts.

New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu.

North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine.

Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt.

South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster.

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem.

Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox.

Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon.

Being indebted makes us similarly suppliant. Less money for leisure means less time spent learning new things, staying informed, and especially being politically active.

They want us stupid and they want us working paycheck to paycheck, in a constant state of stress.

Why are federal student loans specifically so damned punitive? Why are they afraid of college grads getting out of debt's coffin? Why don't we have federally mandated paid vacation like dozens of other countries?

Staying stupid, staying tired, staying stressed, means our political engagement is uninformed, inactive, and superficial.

You have to watch in sheer awe at the energy and resources Republicans throw at something in order to stop it, as soon as they get just a whiff of ordinary Americans getting a little bit of help.

Pelosi attack and GOP featuring Elon Musk

Marjorie Taylor Greene rages at media for not buying the bizarre “Pelosi gay lover” story

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is outraged that anyone would even question the latest rightwing conspiracy theory about House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) husband having a secret gay lover who tried to kill him.

On Friday, a man broke into the Pelosis’ home and asked, “Where’s Nancy?” She wasn’t there, but her husband Paul Pelosi was. The man hit Paul with a hammer and he has been hospitalized.

So every conservative with a gun next to their bed waiting to use it on a burgler is actually afraid their gay lover is going to burst in? Scandalous.

Greene has a history of gullibility when it comes to far-right conspiracy theories. She famously said on Facebook in 2018 that prominent Jewish people had caused wildfires in California with laser beams sent from space.

“they are beaming the suns energy back to Earth, I’m sure they wouldn’t ever miss a transmitter receiving station right??!!” she wrote.

“What would that look like anyway?” she continued. “A laser beam or a light beam coming down to Earth I guess. Could that cause a fire? Hmmm, I don’t know. I hope not! That wouldn’t look good for [Pacific Gas & Electric], Rothschild Inc, Solaren or Jerry Brown who sure does seem fond of PG&E.”

GOP's current main strategy relies on the firehose of falsehood. If the opposition just starts ignoring all the nonsense their strategy falls apart, so it's vital for them to insist that everything must be investigated and taken seriously.

MTG is mad because she thinks she's being clever, and people who think they're being clever tend to throw a hissy fit when they have the rug pulled out from under them.

Paul Pelosi Conspiracy Theory Trends on Twitter After Elon Musk Pushes It

A baseless conspiracy theory about the assault of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul Pelosi trended on Twitter Monday morning after being boosted all weekend by prominent conservatives and even new Twitter owner Elon Musk.

Hashtags including “PelosiGayLover,” “PelosiSmollett,” “PelosiGate,” and “Listen to the 911” appeared in the trending bar amid the proliferation of false claims about the attack and mockery of Pelosi. Several prominent right-wing figures pushed the false idea that both the attacker and Pelosi were in their underwear at the time of the assault, and that Pelosi knew his attacker and that they were actually lovers because Pelosi had referred to him as a “friend” while attempting to tip off 911 dispatchers as to his situation.

When Scalise was attacked, here is what Nancy Pelosi released:

“We are profoundly grateful for the heroism of the Capitol Police, whose bravery under fire undoubtedly saved countless lives. On days like today, there are no Democrats or Republicans, only Americans united in our hopes and prayers for the wounded.”

2017:

Now that Nancy Pelosi's husband was attacked, republicans create homophobic conspiracy theories and memes. Disgusting.

Hope this pushes more people to delete their Twitter accounts.

I've deleted my Twitter account over 2 years ago.

GOP isn't looking for your best interest

GOP Candidate for Governor Commits to Accepting Election Result… If She Wins

KARI LAKE, A television journalist turned MAGA candidate to be Arizona’s next governor, rejected an invitation on Sunday to commit to electoral democracy, opting instead to copy Donald Trump’s brand of . Pressured repeatedly on whether she’d accept the results of the election regardless of the result, Lake said she’d accept if she won — and then laid the groundwork for contesting the election if she loses.

“I’m going to win the election, and I will accept that result,” Lake said Sunday on CNN. Asked if she’d accept the result if she loses, Lake paused, smiled, and said: “I’m going to win the election, and I will accept that result. The people of Arizona will never support and vote for a coward like [Democratic nominee] Katie Hobbs.”

That nonsense that dumb Donald started must end. If you’re not willing to accept the outcome of an election if you lose you should not be allowed to participate in the election.

The right wing has abandoned compromise or even discussing policy, and had made everything about us-or-them culture wars. It started in the 70s, got worse under Gingrich, and was supercharged with Trump. Dems can't work with a party like that to make the country better. The GOP needs to abandon fascism and really negotiate if we have any hope of bipartisanship. Anything else is just a concession that rachets us further in a very dangerous direction.

GOP plan to cut Social Security, Medicare in 2023 comes into view

Democrats have spent much of the year warning voters that Republicans will seek cuts to Social Security and Medicare if put in power, and an amazing number of GOP officials and candidates have bolstered the claims. What’s new this week, however, is Republicans signaling how they intend to pursue their goal.

It was two weeks ago when President Joe Biden warned the public that Social Security and Medicare would end up on “the chopping block” if Republicans have their way, and the rhetoric hardly seemed outlandish. In recent months, there’s been no shortage of prominent GOP voices — from Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson to New Hampshire’s Don Bolduc to Rep. Buddy Carter of Georgia — who’ve bolstered Biden’s claims.

Here is the report:

Entitlement, Spending Cap Plans Linked by GOP to Debt-Limit Deal

Key GOP members weigh Social Security, Medicare changes

Debt-limit deadline expected in third quarter of 2023

The Republican Study Committee, the largest group of House Republicans, released a budget plan in June that called on lawmakers to gradually raise the Medicare age of eligibility to 67 and the Social Security eligibility to 70 before indexing both to life expectancy. It backed withholding payments to those who retired early and had earnings over a certain limit. And it endorsed the consideration of options to reduce payroll taxes that fund Social Security and redirect them to private alternatives. It also urged lawmakers to “phase-in an increase in means testing” for Medicare.

Smith said Republicans will focus on “protecting and preserving” Social Security and Medicare, but he declined to say specifically if he supports the RSC proposal to raise the eligibility age. He said broadly that Republicans would find “innovative ways to drive down the cost of health care.”

This needs to be blasted everywhere: Republicans are coming for your Social Security and Medicare.
