Trump and Melania’s Scammy Meme Coins Have Lost Almost All Value
his second inauguration, the president—who told Fox News in his first term that he was not “a big fan” of cryptocurrencies, which he deemed possibly “fake”—made his own foray into crypto.
The meme coin’s value quickly rocketed to around $75. It dropped shortly thereafter but saw a bump in April when Trump announced “the most EXCLUSIVE INVITATION in the world”: for the top 220 investors in $TRUMP coin to enjoy a private dinner with the president at his Virginia golf club.
Doesn't matter, they served their purpose--to use the office of the presidency to personally enrich Trump, while the public has no idea what domestic and foreign actors may have enriched him in a quid pro quo that we'll never fully know the details of. The most corrupt president in US history.
Mostly for their identities to remain anonymous, because basically bribing public officials is all legal now thanks to Snyder v. United States. You just can’t call them bribes you have to refer to them as “gratuities”
Remember when he, his sons, his staff and like 20 other US Billionaire Company owners flew to Qatar a few months back? Im pretty sure thats where ALOT of corruption took place regarding crypto!
On top of it, Trump and his buddies probably sold off while it was high.
Probably? That’s exactly what happened.
When a crypto coin is minted, the founder’s wallet has been allocated in advance. Then the stakeholders hype the sale and as people buy in to the coin, actual money gets deposited from the exchange. These trades raise the “value” of the coin and the founders cash out and take all the actual real money, leaving “investors” with no value.
Crypto follows this model:
Mint
Hype
Sell to Buyers
Value increases.
Cash out.
Value craters.
Buyers can trade their crypto but when they buy in, they join a virtual queue to be able to sell their stake. Of course the founders are first and they get to cash out first.
For some reason this is legal.
But it’s basically a pump & dump scheme.
But it relies on “The Bigger Fool” theory.
