Still waiting for my DOGE check and my tariff refund.
Republicans runs the country like corporate, it’s NEVER the managements fault.
Anyone who believes anything that Trump says, but particularly this, is so incredibly deep in the cult and/or stunningly stupid, that no amount of persuasion or appeal to reality will change their minds.
$1.2T is the estimate.
As we saw with the stimulus money, it gets the economy heated in a hurry with all this money being spent, but the result is inflation and higher interest rates.
But the stupid doesn’t stop there:
* JD Vance said this was possible because the tariffs were generating so much money (his words, I know that isn’t how it works), but Americans never received the $2K promised months ago from the bounty of riches that the tariffs allegedly brought. Are we supposed to receive $7K now? Promising me $5,000 just reminds me that he promised me $2,000 earlier this year.
* Trump said the $5K must be spent in the US, which is as stupid as it is impossible to enforce. If I deposit the money in my Fidelity account and one of the funds has holdings in Canadian companies (or anywhere else outside the US), who’s going to know? Nobody. It’s one of those highly specific details he always adds which is the tell that this is something he’s spinning on the spot.
