Pentagon is banning press photographers over ‘unflattering’ photos of Pete Hegseth: report
Press photographers are no longer permitted to take photos inside the Pentagon press briefing room after several outlets published “unflattering” photos of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, two people familiar with the situation told the Washington Post.
Temps in the DC area passed 80 degrees yesterday, but the Department of Defense's top snowflake survived unscathed.
Jesus christ this is sad. Every photo of him is unflattering.
At some point, looking "hard" just looks like you're actively shitting. But given their glorious leader, maybe that's the goal...
The most insipid, vainglorious, insecure administration ever.
Hegseth's fragile masculinity has doomed the US
The best way to understand the US position on Iran is machismo. There’s no point looking for a strategic calculation – you won’t find it. Donald Trump and his officials have tried several explanations: regime change, nuclear weapons, ballistic missiles and an upcoming attack on Israel. None of them last more than a couple of days. None of them are real.
“You kill people and break things for a living,” he told the gathered generals, as they sat in baffled silence.
Real men and soldiers strive to keep those two things from happening. Hegseth is a child.
He is a performative male.
It's tough guy drag.
That's a great way to say it. This is one of the things people mean when they talk about what "toxic masculinity" is, and how it's toxic to and for men as well as women, but the term is misunderstood often. Wearing tough guy drag might be a better way to express it.
