State of the Texas State

 Just to be clear.

In January, Texas Republicans introduced a bill to secede from the United States.

Yesterday, the Texas governor and both senators (including Ted Cruz) asked Biden for an emergency declaration because their private electrical grid failed.

Several years ago, Cruz voted against federal relief for New England states affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Last year during rolling blackouts in California, Cruz and several other Texas Republicans shredded California Democrats for supposedly being at fault for the outages.

Texas, a red state, did not go for Biden.

Biden granted the emergency declaration without making fun of Texas, without bringing up the secession bill, without pointing out all the shit Cruz has said about him, and without criticizing the state’s decision to get off the national grid to evade federal regulations.

He just did it. Because Texans are Americans, too. And they’re hurting, and need relief.

Just to be clear.

I couldn't find that exact blog, but I found this: Abbot again sues EPA over state's air permit process. So Abbot sued EPA for feud over the state's rules for air pollution from refiners and other large industries.

It's more important for State of the Texas to have less restrictions on air polluting than health of it's citizens.

Fox News is a entertainmet not a news

Fox News hosts didn't correct Trump's lie that he won the election in his first interview post-insurrection.

That's the headline on businessinsider.com today.

Trump told that he had won the re-election, even though Biden is sworn in.  Saddest part is that Fox News hosts Harris Faulkner and Bill Hemmer didn't correct Trump's false claims on live TV.

Anything for ratings. They still see Trump as a cashcow. They won't start to correct him until it makes financial sense to do so. Right now, propaganda like his is still printing money with the uneducated masses the GOP loves so much.

Fox news should be hit with lawsuit. Boycott all advertisers. We are the clear majority. They are no longer allowed to give a platform to this narcissist spouting dangerous lies that threaten our democracy.

If Fox continues to do so, we will shut them down.

Has become a cult?

Congressman Adam Schiff believes that the Republican Party has "become essentially a cult" in recent years, evident from its embrace of President Trump and controversial figures such as Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who has espoused QAnon conspiracy theories.

"Sadly, it has already become essentially a cult, not just of QAnon, but a whole range of conspiracy theories orbiting around Donald Trump," Schiff said in an interview with CBS News chief Washington correspondent Major Garrett for this week's episode of "The Takeout" podcast. "Which of course is a disaster not only for the Republican Party, but is a disaster for the country. We really rely on two functional parties for our system to work, and right now we don't have that."

For what I can see it has always been a cult. Religious one.

Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene

Today, the House voted to strip Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA-14) from her committee assignments on the House Education Committee and House Budget Committee. Congresswoman Greene, a first term Congresswoman, had previously expressed support for far right conspiracy theories, including saying that school shootings were hoaxes, and supporting violent rhetoric against fellow members of Congress. The vote was 230-199, with 11 Republicans supporting the resolution.

These lawmakers backed the effort following recently unearthed incendiary and violent past statementsfrom Greene that have triggered widespread backlash:

  • Adam Kinzinger of Illinois
  • Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania
  • John Katko of New York
  • Fred Upton of Michigan
  • Nicole Malliotakis of New York
  • Carlos Gimenez of Florida
  • Chris Jacobs of New York
  • Young Kim of California
  • Maria Elvira Salazar of Florida
  • Chris Smith of New Jersey
  • Mario Diaz-Balart of Florida
