GOP's voting tracker

Numbers and facts have a liberal bias!!!

If Republican voters could read, they’d still be confused by percentages.

Full List of House Republicans Who Plan to Vote Against Debt Ceiling Deal

In a blow to Speaker Kevin McCarthy, five House Republicans have indicated they will vote against the debt ceiling deal he negotiated with President Biden and a number of other GOP representatives have been extremely critical of the bipartisan agreement.

If passed by Congress, the budget deal will raise the U.S. debt limit from $31.5 trillion for two years, avoiding an American default in early June, in exchange for some cuts to federal spending.

Here are the ones vocally saying no:

  • Lauren Boebert - Colorado
  • Matt Rosendale - Montana
  • Ralph Norman - South Carolina
  • Bob Good - Virginia
  • Ken Buck - Colorado
  • Andrew Clyde - Georgia
  • Dan Bishop - North Carolina
  • Chip Roy - Texas

Finally Some action against law breaking law makers

George Santos calls federal charges a ‘witch hunt’ and refuses to resign following arrest

George Santos described criminal charges against him as a “witch hunt” in a defiant press conference following his arrest on Wednesday.

The New York congressman spoke outside a federal courthouse after being arraigned on charges of fraud, theft of public funds and money laundering.

“It’s a witch hunt,” he told a crowd of reporters. “I’m gonna fight my battle, I’m gonna deliver, I’m gonna fight the witch hunt, I’m gonna take care of clearing my name,” he said, adding that he was planning to run for re-election.

Wow, so now he's claiming to be a witch too? Add it to the list right after volleyball star.

Oddly enough, it was actually George Santos who wrote "Agatha All Along" for Wandavision.

Don’t you know? George Santos was also in the garden of Eden! He tried to stop the snake before it could get to Eve but he was too slow. That’s why he is repenting for all our sins. Also he created oxygen.

I heard he actually was on the board of directors with God for the Creation project.

Shame is dead. There’s no such thing as Republicans who get busted just bowing out anymore. Everything is a witch hunt or a political hit. This slope does not end well when society is gaslit and forced to waste time on these people’s bullshit, over and over and over again.

But yet again:

George Santos voting on employment fraud bill – 24 hours after being arrested for employment fraud

Rep George Santos returned to the Capitol on Thursday following his arrest a day earlier for unemployment fraud – just in time to vote on a bill dealing with that exact topic.

It was a perfectly scripted moment to cap off a wild two-day media circus around his indicment in New York on 13 criminal counts. He has pleaded not guilty, and vowed to fight the charges in court.

“He’s innocent until proven guilty even tho it’s it’s obvious he’s guilty as fuck.”

  • GOP on Biden: we have no actual proof he's guilty but we feel like he's guilty so we're going to continue treating him like he's guilty.
  • GOP on Santos: c'mon guys, I know we have mountains of pretty irrefutable evidence here but innocent until proven guilty!

A Republican in Texas resigned after it was found out that he supplied one of his staffers with alcohol and had sex with her (she’s 19)

By rule he still had to be expelled by the House, which they did. It was the first expulsion in the state House since 1927

Disney DeSantis feud

Disney expands lawsuit against DeSantis after governor signs bill to void land deals

Disney on Monday expanded its federal lawsuit against Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, accusing the Republican leader of doubling down on his "retribution campaign" against the company by signing legislation to void Disney's development deals in Orlando.

Disney's amended lawsuit also noted that Florida's Republican-led Legislature passed legislation last week targeting Walt Disney World's monorail system.

This might be the most absurd mess I've ever seen a politican get themselves into. I understand why Disney is fighting back but I don't understand what DeSantis thinks he going to gain from any of this. He lost focus on whatever he was trying to accomplish months ago and now just looks crazed and vindictive.

This guy is the golden child who's supposed to save the GOP?

He’s nothing more than a schoolyard bully who was used to bullying other kids on the playground and getting his way. Then he tried bullying a kid who had the means to punch back and now he’s flailing and constantly doubling down.

I'm not sure even the GOP realistically thinks the GOP can be saved. They're just going to circle the wagons and entrench power among ever smaller groups and grift all they can until they become irrelevant. As Florida is the dream destination of America's aging conservative assholes, he has one of the biggest grifts going.

Disney expands lawsuit to include new DeSantis-backed legislation

The Walt Disney Co. on Monday expanded its lawsuit alleging retaliation by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to include new regulations passed by the state’s legislature that allow officials to nullify development agreements brokered by the entertainment giant.

DeSantis (R), who is weighing a presidential run, signed legislation Friday giving the special board that oversees government services in and around the Walt Disney World Resort the authority to void existing contracts.

They should seek an injunction on any future bills directed at them and only them. That has been the problem with the laws. The Villages are fine, not Disney. Universal can watch their own attractions, not Disney. Separate but equal is illegal and so is retaliation for first amendment rights. Florida will lose. Their best hope is forced mediation.

And even when DeSantis tries to obscure it, it's obvious what he's doing. A bill to require special safety inspections? That might be good. Only for fixed transportation systems? That narrows down what is applies to. Only in theme parks? That narrows it down more. Only fixed transportation systems in theme parks in special districts that span more than one county? That's literally just the Disney World monorail.

They think they're being clever, but it's obvious what they're doing. It's like they're speaking in pig Latin and think nobody can translate it but them. "Next, we'll pass the 'On't-day Ay-say Isney-Day' bill to 'unish-pay Isney-Day or-fay peaking-say out-way against-way us-way.' (They'll never be able to tell what we're doing!)"

The right can't deny that this is retaliation, but they don't care. So long as they see themselves as on the side of the autocracy, they are happy to let freedom and liberty cease to exist. What they don't understand is that if they achieve their goal, the autocracy will not hesitate to take away their rights and freedom next.

Trump just keeps on creeping

Jury finds Donald Trump sexually abused E. Jean Carroll in civil case, awards her $5 million

A Manhattan federal jury found that Donald Trump sexually abused E. Jean Carroll in a luxury department store dressing room in the spring of 1996 and awarded her $5 million for battery and defamation.

Carroll alleged Trump raped her in the Bergdorf Goodman department store and then defamed her when he denied her claim, said she wasn’t his type and suggested she made up the story to boost sales of her book. Trump denied all wrongdoing. He does not face any jail time as a result of the civil verdict.

Time for him to fleece his rube followers for the appeal costs.

Remember when spelling the word "potato" wrong was enough to tank your chances of being president? Now a jury finding that you sexually assaulted someone is not going to even move the needle. What a nightmarish time we live in.

He admitted to sexually assaulting women on a tape that released a few weeks before the 2016 election.

We knew prospectively that he assaulted women before he was elected and people still put him into office.

Joe tacopina is now trying to make the names of the jury available to the public so Trump's extremist supporters can attack them.

From the article:

“My advice to you is not to identify yourselves. Not now and not for a long time,” Kaplan said. “If you’re one who elects to speak to others and to identify yourselves to others, I direct you not to identify anyone else who sat on this jury. Each of you owes that to the other whatever you decided for yourself.”

A sexual abuse ruling. 26 accusations. Yet Trump is still frontrunner to be the next President

Donald Trump has been found liable by a civil court jury for the sexual abuse of writer E Jean Carroll in a luxury Manhattan department store.

Ms Carroll, 79, is among more than two dozen women who have accused the former president of sexual misconduct, and the first to secure a verdict against him in court.

Yeah, it's crazy.

You'd think stealing state secrets, trying to rig an election, sanction the murder of the Vice President and hold a violent coup to overthrow the government would be more of a turn off for voters.

Turns out you can add rape to that list and half of America doesn't think that should discount you from being President either.

What a weird timeline we live on.

He's the REPUBLICAN frontrunner. Republicans want him to be president.

Mature, sane, rational people want him and his entire shitty cult to fuck off.

Talk about a morally bankrupt political party.

Surprise: Ex–White House Employees Say Donald Trump Behaved Grossly With Women While President

By now you‘ve likely heard the news that on Tuesday, Donald Trump was found liable for sexually abusing (and defaming) writer E. Jean Carroll, and was ordered to pay her $5 million. Given that Trump has spent decades evading and all repercussions for his actions; has been accused by more than two dozen women of sexual misconduct (he has denied all allegations); and literally claimed on tape that it’s okay for “stars” to sexually assault people, the outcome felt monumental. And by the way, if you’re wondering whether Trump—now a certified sexual predator—refrained from behaving inappropriately with women while he was serving as president, the answer is: Of course he didn’t.

He bragged about barging into teenage girls dressing rooms to check them out undressed. The guy is a vile predator who belongs in prison.

He was business partners for years running international child beauty pageants with convicted pedophile and sex trafficker John Casablancas.

There was specific staffer…that [Trump] would request for her to be on constant trips when it wasn’t her turn…he one time had one of my other deputies bring her back so that they could ‘look at her ass’ is what he said to him.

Absolutely gross. Republicans are some vile pieces of shit for voting for this guy in spite of all the reams of evidence showing what a repugnant shart he is. These are same despicable party members who voted for Roy Moore even knowing he was a child predator and then claim to care about children.

Conservatives wants hold back America

Conservative America has far more gun deaths than liberal America, study finds

A horrific recent trend of mass shootings has severely polarized Americans on the topic of firearms. At the center of this heated controversy lies the policy question of gun control: Should the government impose restrictions on firearms and other dangerous weapons to protect the public?

Conservative america is a cancer.

Texas Mass Shootings Up 62.5 Percent Since Permitless Carry Bill

Requiring universal background checks on all sales, and instituting a national registry would essentially eliminate straw purchases (where the overwhelming majority of the guns used in criminal activity originate)

Enacting expanded and strict red flag laws would drastically reduce the amount of firearms in the homes of the violent and unstable.

Requiring safe storage laws, mental health checks, and mandatory training would dramatically lower the amount of accidents, suicides, and sick teens shooting up schools.

And maybe throw some universal healthcare in there to help address the mental health crisis.

(none of these measures do anything to impede a stable, law abiding citizen from acquiring a gun, by the way. if someone believes any of these would keep them from getting a gun, or lead to theirs being removed then they are exactly the type of person who shouldn’t have them) but we can’t have any of that because conservatives are in a 2a absolutist death cult. so let’s keep instilling the notion the guns will solve problems, let’s allow permit-less carry for everyone, and let’s put the guns in the schools ourselves because if there’s one thing i learned in school it’s that kids never get into places they shouldn’t.

McDonald's used Child Slavery in Louisville, Kentucky

Investigation finds 10-year-old children working unpaid at Louisville McDonald's

Three Kentucky McDonald's franchise operators violated federal labor laws. Bauer Food LLC, Archways Richwood LLC and Bell Restaurant Group I LLC, which are three separate franchisees that operate 62 McDonald's locations in Kentucky, Indiana, Maryland and Ohio, employed 305 children to work more than the legally permitted hours, according to an investigation.

The investigation found Bauer Food LLC, which operates 10 McDonald's locations in Louisville, employed 24 minors under the age of 16 to work more hours than legally permitted. Two 10-year-old children were working as late as 2 a.m. unpaid.

According to a news release, Archways Richwood LLC, allowed 242 minors between age 14 and 15 to work beyond the allowable hours. Bell Restaurant Group I LLC, a Louisville-based operator of four restaurants, allowed 39 workers ages 14 and 15 to work outside of and for more hours than the law permits.

According to a news release, the investigation led to assessments of $212,754.

The headline should be: "Three McDonald's franchises face an inconsequential fine after violating the law nearly 300 times. No arrests were made on the criminal company owners."

The headline should be "McDonald's uses child slavery" because "unpaid workers" is corpo whitewash.

McDonald's isn´t going to do anything, short of an incredibly high profile scandal that involved litigation, the unlikely prospect of shutting down entire swaths of business in a bunch of states at a time is exactly why they can get away with it.

And now you know why Republicans worked to pass a child labor bill in Iowa that allows kids to work in mines. Republican state lawmakers in Wisconsin circulated a new bill that would allow workers as young as 14 years old to serve alcohol in bars and restaurants.
