George Santos just can't stop laying

Even as Rep.-elect George Santos (R-NY) embarks on his apology tour, admitting he lied to voters for years about some of the most fundamental facts of his life, there’s been one mystery that Santos has been less than clear about: where his purported millions came from.

The Daily Beast now has at least part of the answer—the identities of four Santos corporate clients. And while this new revelation might put Santos in even more hot water, what Santos did with his newfound riches could be even more damning.

Santos has already admitted using cash from his company, the Devolder Organization, to fund his campaign—a move campaign finance experts say could add up to an unlawful $700,000 corporate contribution.
Andrew Intrater, cousin and money-manager to the sanctioned Russian oligarch Viktor Vekselberg, who contributed a combined $80,000 to the PAC, per state records. Intrater and his wife were also two of the largest donors to both Zeldin and Santos

Russian money all over the GOP No wonder they are so pro Russia, just like their dear leader.

How many more russia backed GOP can be found in Congress?

George Santos Keeps Giving Inconsistent Stories About His Mystery Millions

George Santos, the New York Republican who was elected to the House in November, has drawn much attention for his audacious lying. As a candidate, he said he had attended Baruch College. He said he worked for Goldman Sachs. He said he worked for Citigroup. Those were all lies. He claimed Jewish heritage and maintained that his ancestors had fled antisemitic persecution in Europe prior to World War II. It seems this was also a fabrication. (Santos told the New York Post he had made some things up but always has been clear that he was “Jew-ish.”)

And likely lied on his FEC financial disclosures, under penalty of perjury.

So Taco Bell does a better background check than the RNC? Sounds about right. They didn't verify a single thing about him. Also his Democratic opponent should be ashamed at having done zero opposition research.

NY Rep.-elect Santos investigated for lying about his past

NEW YORK (AP) — U.S. Rep.-elect George Santos of New York was under investigation by Long Island prosecutors on Wednesday, after revelations surfaced that the now-embattled Republican lied about his heritage, education and professional pedigree as he campaigned for office.

Despite intensifying doubt about his fitness to hold federal office, Santos has shown no signs of stepping aside — even as he publicly admitted to a long list of lies.

Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. Donnelly, a Republican, said the fabrications and inconsistencies were “nothing short of stunning.”

Shout-out to Jason Torchinsky from Jalopnik and The Autopian. The first time I'd ever heard of George Santos was last year when Jason called him out for lying about how much he was paying for gas. Then a year later it turns out the guy was lying about everything.

There simply couldn't be a better Poster Boy for what the republican party has become. Is this the kind of 'quailty canditate' that Mitch McConnel was referring to in the mid-terms?

I'm actually impressed with the way this POS has drawn scrutiny so quickly. He's not even sworn into Congress and there's an investigation into him. That's a record even by GOP standards.

The right side of the politics

GOP Rep.-elect George Santos of New York admitted in two separate interviews on Monday to lying about parts of his resume but claimed that he hasn’t committed any crimes and intends to serve in Congress.

Santos has faced scrutiny over discrepancies in his employment and education history, as well as other public claims he has made about his biography. In interviews with WABC radio and the New York Post – the first times Santos has spoken publicly about the controversy – he acknowledged that he had fabricated some facts.

He lied about his resume, which means he’s lying about being a criminal. Also, the voters vote based on knowledge of a candidate...so if the candidate himself gave out false knowledge, seems that this was ELECTION FRAUD, right?

I believe one of the things in the original article was about him having a criminal record in Brazil. Something about passing bad checks or something. So he is technically a criminal,

Yes, he committed crimes in Brazil and it was checked by Brazilian media. He bought expensive clothes with false cheeks. The investigation was closed because he fled the country and never came back.

Republican accusation is always a projection

Meet Republican Congressman John Rose, his WIFE, and their two sons. They met when she was 16 and he awarded her a 4H scholarship.

The grooming is coming from inside the glass house...

When they see a man in a dress who is with a child and think something sexual is happening, they are telling on themselves. Twice.

Reminds me of the teachers that screech about the girls wearing crop tops and spaghetti straps saying, "they'll be a distraction in class!" A distraction for whom, Mr. Davis? For whom?

Reminder that the entire "groomer" thing from the GOP started as a cover for the TN House of Representatives trying to advance House Bill 223 which would legalize child brides.

The very same TN House of Representatives this sleazy pervert voted in.

Republicans have been fighting to keep child marriage alive throughout the country.

U.S. gas prices are now lower than a year ago

U.S. gas prices are now lower than a year ago

After months in which gasoline prices in the United States have been one of the most visible symbols of inflation, they have a new distinction: Prices at the pump are now lower than they were a year ago.

The reversal of the price escalation that accompanied Russia’s invasion of Ukraine will ease pressure on American consumers dealing with the high cost of other essentials.

The drop in gasoline prices was led by a decline in worldwide energy demand, which drove oil prices lower. The national average price for regular gasoline stood at $3.33 a gallon on Thursday, according to AAA. A year ago, the average price at the pump was $3.34.

I'm sure all the conservatives will be thanking Biden any time now...

Those "i did that" stickers have a bit of an ironic edge to them now, though i doubt the people who put them up will appreciate it.

They're brainwashed. Their feelings don't care about facts. They'll confidently (and incorrectly) assert that gas prices were $1.25 when trump was in office, and that they saw gas at $6.50 this morning. They don't care about being accurate, they just want to feel justified in the hate they choose to flow through them, and they do this by pretending that they're right and winning.

Not surprising gas prices dropped like right after midterms. It was around 4$ a gallon around me on election day. It then "mysteriously" dropped to around 3.20$ a day or so later. But no, gas corporations totally don't inflate prices around elections to help their Republicans backers.

I get gas for 2.50 a gallon in Tennessee it amazingly dropped from over $3 to $2.50 right after the midterms. Man it’s amazing how corporations jack up prices to get their way in elections then drop the prices when the election is over. It’s amazing. Fuck corps and anyone who thinks it’s democrats fault for gas prices.

Here in Michigan it went from 4.25 on Election Day to 2.99 today. Total racket.

It was amazing how back around the election here in Ohio the prices were about $3.65 then on the day before the election all the sudden they jump to $3.99 everywhere and then after the election they immediately start dropping till we are currently at about $3.00.

Weird it’s almost like they were kept at inflated levels through the election season.

Republicans are for the people?

And let's not forget that Trump released 5,000 Taliban prisoners for nothing in return. Or at least that we know of.

Most of the world is aware of the mad as shit gun/politics in the US. Almost accustomed to it. A mass shooting of some sort every day. I know it's a massive country but still.. it's almost shrugged off a bit now.

If nobody knew and the world was suddenly exposed to the whole gun, school shootings, shooter drills, consideration of armed teachers, USA, 2nd Amendment, etc etc..

The world would be completely dumbfounded. It is absolutely mental what happens there and how it seems many, many people are happy with it.

So, are the republicans saying that the United States democrats are responsible for the economy worldwide? Do they not realize prices are up everywhere? What kind of idiot do you have to be to vote for a Republican?

And didn't every republican vote against the anti inflation bill because they didn't want anything good happening while Biden was in office. republicans are evil and republican voters are the dumbest most hateful people around.

And the gas price gouging bill and the $25 cap on insulin prices.

And raising minimum wage to $15.

And the emergency baby formula bill.

Noose around Trumps necks getting tight

Trump Says New York ‘Hard Place To Be A Trump’ After Company Convicted Of Tax Fraud

Former President Donald Trump issued a furious statement Tuesday after his company was convicted of tax fraud and other crimes that Manhattan’s district attorney characterized as part of a long pattern of “greed,” “lies” and “cheating.”

New York is a hard place to be a criminal.

Prison is an even harder place to be bro.

The Trump Organization was convicted on all 17 counts, a stunning guilty verdict.

Donald Trump condemned for 'anti-American and fascist' proposal to terminate the Constitution

Donald Trump's suggestion that the United States disregard rules and regulations including "those found in the Constitution" drew scathing rebukes from politicians of both parties, with a top Democrat calling it "a danger to our democracy."

What many saw as a bizarre proposal from a singularly unconventional former president came in his latest social media post hammering away at baseless conspiracy theories about the 2020 election, which he lost to Joe Biden.

The party for the constitution, if and when it suits them.

What you see is a very scared old man afraid he will be going behind bars in the not too distant future.

Under fire, Trump denies writing what he wrote about Constitution

“The Fake News is actually trying to convince the American People that I said I wanted to ‘terminate’ the Constitution. This is simply more DISINFORMATION & LIES, just like RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA, and all of their other HOAXES & SCAMS. What I said was that when there is ‘MASSIVE & WIDESPREAD FRAUD & DECEPTION,’ as has been irrefutably proven in the 2020 Presidential Election, steps must be immediately taken to RIGHT THE WRONG. Only FOOLS would disagree with that and accept STOLEN ELECTIONS. MAGA!”

So he's telling people not to believe what they saw with their own two eyes.

MTG on a roll

Cruel Marjorie Taylor Greene criticizes Joe Biden for condemning gay bar shooting

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is getting blasted online for criticizing President Joe Biden for condemning the mass shooting at a Colorado Springs, Colorado LGBTQ bar.

“Why am I not shocked that you’re downplaying the deaths of LGBTQ people,” University of California, San Francisco Professor Jack Turban asked Greene in response to her macabre tweets.

It's not just her, but the voters who elect her. Ultimately, they're to blame. I'm tired of the "Liberals need to reach out to her voters because they feel "abandoned." Nobody abandoned them, they just put people like her in office.

She's a Christofascist. Let's be honest, though: What she says is how millions of conservatives feel. She is just the latest mouthpiece for Christian hate and oppression.

Don’t know who’s worse, MTG or the people who voted to keep her in office. Absolutely disgusting human beings.

Marjorie Taylor Greene says she isn't afraid of a GOP civil war: 'We're going to fight it out'

"We're going to fight it out. I'm telling you — I've always said I'm not afraid of the civil war in the GOP. I lean into it," Greene told former Trump adviser Steve Bannon on his "War Room" podcast on Monday.

I don't think this is bad for the GOP as people think. There's no sense of decency left, and their supporters have already tossed aside facts and logic. They've already sold their voters that the other side is for tyranny and destruction. With that combination they have carte blanche to go as far right as possible.

Just look at COVID -- conservatives were/are literally ready to die and ignore the cure for their political beliefs.

So the far right wing of the party winning control, will likely result in just more people following suit.

That's the GOP for you. Always at war, always on the offensive.

Never at peace.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Uses Gay Club Mass Shooting to Lie About Drugs

U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, known for her anti-LGBTQ+ rants and conspiracy theories, has reached perhaps a new low by using the Colorado Springs mass shooting to spread falsehoods about drug trafficking and to, of course, argue against gun control.

“Tragically, 300 Americans die of fentanyl poisoning everyday in America and Biden says and does nothing,” she tweeted Sunday. “Tragically, 5 people were killed in a shooting in Colorado and Biden immediately demands a ban on assault weapons.

However, she ignored the fact that most of the fentanyl sold in the U.S. is sold by citizens. A recent study by the Cato Institute, a libertarian think tank, reported that 86.3 percent of convicted fentanyl traffickers are U.S. citizens. The study used government data.

Unfathomable cruelty is her whole thing, the novelty has really worn off though. After going after school shooting survivors you can't really go much lower. Short of her pushing kids out of wheelchairs there isn't really anything she can do to out so the awful things she has done in the past.

If we could get the GOP owned and operated main stream media (Fox, CNN, ABC/NBC/CBS, et al) to stop posting about Greene, Boebert and other extremists, they would fade away.

These extremists say crazy stuff to get attention and then they get in competition to say the craziest stuff. Just stop repeating their posts. They are minor players in a minority party. Nothing they do really affects anything.

Stop promoting them!

Noose around Trumps necks is not getting loosen

Christian Petition Against Donald Trump's 2024 Run Signed by Thousands

housands of people have signed a petition launched by a Christian organization condemning Donald Trump's 2024 bid for the White House.

Trump, at his Mar-a-Lago club on Tuesday night, became the first candidate to formally launch a 2024 campaign, following a disappointing performance for the GOP in the 2022 midterm elections. Many Republicans blamed the former president after numerous Trump-endorsed candidates lost their races.

Where we these Christians in 2016, 2020, and (until now) 2022?

They were using a immoral man to pack the courts. It's totally cool and totally legal thing to do in their "faith".

The USA should not be a theocracy. Have at your christianity in your own life. Stop using your religion, no matter the kind, to evangelize through our government. That is theocracy and has no place here.

Theocrats are by definition antifreedom and therefore should have no quarter at the American table.

Manhattan Prosecutors Move to Jump-Start Criminal Inquiry Into Trump

The Manhattan district attorney’s office has moved to jump-start its criminal investigation into Donald J. Trump, according to people with knowledge of the matter, seeking to breathe new life into an inquiry that once seemed to have reached a dead end.

Under the new district attorney, Alvin L. Bragg, the prosecutors have returned to the long-running investigation's original focus: a hush-money payment to a porn star who said she had an affair with Mr. Trump.

Can Trump ever actually be arrested for anything?? Just how far does someone in America, who is fat, rich, orange and an ex-president, have to go to feel any legal repercussions for committing crimes, such as attempting a coup, trying to cajole extra votes to win an election, lying about their taxes etc etc? It's mindblowing that he is at liberty to do as he pleases.

I always thought the Stormy Daniel case was pretty air tight. Wire fraud, bank fraud, maybe even money laundering going on there with Cohen as a cooperating witness. Plus, the entire scheme only benefited one person: Trump.

Donald Trump himself signed the checks that were laundered. If literally any other person had done this, they would no doubt be indicted.

Trump Is Pissed Republicans Keep Telling Him to Stay Away from Georgia

AS REPUBLICANS POUR party resources into the Georgia Senate runoff, Donald Trump is getting irritated at the idea that virtually no one of importance in the GOP wants him to campaign in Georgia.

In the lead-up to the contest between Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock and Trump-endorsed challenger Herschel Walker, several GOP figures and Trump allies have already implored him not to hold a Georgia rally ahead of the runoff, according to two people familiar with the matter and another person briefed on the situation. Trump — who helped recruit Walker to run — and his advisers have discussed the possibility of heading to Georgia, though Trump hadn’t made a commitment as of last week.

If Walker wins, there is something seriously wrong with the people of Georgia. The fact that Warnock wasn't even able to win outright without a runoff is pretty sad.

Nothing like watching the christian nationalists vote against a pastor, in favour of a guy who paid for an abortions.

Trump and Elon Musk are dangerous narcissists tailored to 2022 America

We likely won’t know all the results of America’s midterm election for a while, but consider two people not on any ballot who are setting the tenor for much of what we have heard and seen.

But both represent the emergence of a particularly American personality in the early decades of the 21st century: the wildly disruptive narcissist.

Both wield sledgehammers to protect their fragile egos. Both are utterly lacking in empathy. Both push baseless conspiracy theories (such as the one cooked up about Paul Pelosi).

Both are indefatigable self-promoters.

They are tailored to 2022 GOP extremist. Please don’t confuse they very very sizable majority that continues to reject it with a few million that are admittedly big enough to have an impact but in no means represents most Americans. Elon and Trump are narcissist driving their brands into the ground. They are not clever (in their cultural games), are not irresistible, and if they weasel out of accountability it will because of inept or corrupt institutions like media or the DOJ allowed them too, not because The People felt so drawn to them.

The narcissism of people who inherited fortunes from apartheid enthusiast and slumlord parents is no surprise, but the amount of simping for these people is a disappointment. Essentially any American slightly right leaning thinks these two care about them and were sent to solve their problems.

Republicans for the veteran

Republicans Praise Veterans After Voting Against Health Care Benefits

As the nation celebrates Veterans Day, members of Congress have shared statements honoring those who served our country.

Several Republicans and Democrats alike have praised veterans Friday—including the 11 GOP lawmakers who voted against a law to increase health care benefits to vets.

Congress passed the Sergeant First Class Heath Robinson Honoring our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics Act, known as the PACT Act, in August.

A preemptive post for those who will try to defend the GOP senators.

Here’s the bill.

https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/PLAW-117publ168/html/PLAW-117publ168.htm

Show us where all the “pork” and unrelated items are. If you want to claim there is a budget “gimmick” please explain how increasing mandatory spending on veteran’s healthcare magically creates an extra $400B for discretionary spending. Explain why the GOP senators voted for it, then against it, then for it again without any substantive changes to the bill.

Go for it.

"We will do anything for vets, as long as it doesn't involve doing something"

Republican party

Or the long version

  • "We will do anything for vets, as long as:
  • It wasn't introduced by the libs
  • It doesn't involve government funding
  • It doesn't involve universal Healthcare
  • It doesn't raise taxes
  • It doesn't interfere with tax cuts for corporations
  • It doesn't interfere with tax cuts for billionaires
  • It is discretionary so we can opt out of it ant time we please
  • It doesn't go to any of you gays
  • It doesn't go to any of the 45,000 service members that are not US citizens
  • It wasn't caused by any alleged pollutants that could be part of any environmental protection claims
  • It doesn't interfere with free access to cheap labor
  • It doesn't involve pork, such as health care, treatment, or medication
  • And you're not a loser

GOP's Red Wave turned in to trickle down

Americans take a stand for decency as the GOP red wave turns to dust, surprising all of us

Let’s cut to the chase: The ebullient Republicans who marched into Tuesday’s midterm elections smugly confident they would surf to power on a mighty, nation-sweeping red wave were left high and dry. Why? I’d argue it’s a testament to Americans’ distaste for indecency.

This is a nice way to look at the situation. Another factor might’ve been that the GOP offered nothing whatsoever in terms of solutions to inflation et al. Going to war against “wokeness” is all they seem to talk about, but that’s not gonna feed anyone’s family.

Their solution was gutting social security and medicare

Can never understand why the working class would vote Republican. They are the LAST people who would help you.

A predicted ‘red wave’ crashed into wall of abortion rights support on Tuesday

A surge in turnout among people motivated by the erosion of abortion rights carried Democrats to victory in races for governor, Senate, attorney general and state legislatures — defying predictions that the issue had faded for voters in the months since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.

Average Americans simply don’t want theocracy. Religious fundies probably won’t accept this and push forward, and wonder why they keep losing popular votes.

Roe, roe, roe your boat gently down this blue wave.

GOP for the debt slavery

Supreme Court again declines to block Biden’s student loan relief plan

The Supreme Court on Friday rejected a second request to block the Biden administration’s student loan debt relief program.

Justice Amy Coney Barrett denied an emergency application to block the program brought Tuesday by the Pacific Legal Foundation, a conservative legal group, on behalf of two borrowers in Indiana.

On Oct. 20, Barrett rejected a similar request from the Brown County Taxpayers Association in Wisconsin.

If you want a reminder on who is trying to prevent this forgiveness:

Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey.

Alaska Gov. Mike Dunleavy.

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey.

Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp.

Idaho Gov. Brad Little.

Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds.

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan.

Missouri Gov. Mike Parson.

Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte.

Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts.

New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu.

North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine.

Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt.

South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster.

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem.

Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox.

Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon.

Being indebted makes us similarly suppliant. Less money for leisure means less time spent learning new things, staying informed, and especially being politically active.

They want us stupid and they want us working paycheck to paycheck, in a constant state of stress.

Why are federal student loans specifically so damned punitive? Why are they afraid of college grads getting out of debt's coffin? Why don't we have federally mandated paid vacation like dozens of other countries?

Staying stupid, staying tired, staying stressed, means our political engagement is uninformed, inactive, and superficial.

You have to watch in sheer awe at the energy and resources Republicans throw at something in order to stop it, as soon as they get just a whiff of ordinary Americans getting a little bit of help.

Pelosi attack and GOP featuring Elon Musk

Marjorie Taylor Greene rages at media for not buying the bizarre “Pelosi gay lover” story

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is outraged that anyone would even question the latest rightwing conspiracy theory about House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) husband having a secret gay lover who tried to kill him.

On Friday, a man broke into the Pelosis’ home and asked, “Where’s Nancy?” She wasn’t there, but her husband Paul Pelosi was. The man hit Paul with a hammer and he has been hospitalized.

So every conservative with a gun next to their bed waiting to use it on a burgler is actually afraid their gay lover is going to burst in? Scandalous.

Greene has a history of gullibility when it comes to far-right conspiracy theories. She famously said on Facebook in 2018 that prominent Jewish people had caused wildfires in California with laser beams sent from space.

“they are beaming the suns energy back to Earth, I’m sure they wouldn’t ever miss a transmitter receiving station right??!!” she wrote.

“What would that look like anyway?” she continued. “A laser beam or a light beam coming down to Earth I guess. Could that cause a fire? Hmmm, I don’t know. I hope not! That wouldn’t look good for [Pacific Gas & Electric], Rothschild Inc, Solaren or Jerry Brown who sure does seem fond of PG&E.”

GOP's current main strategy relies on the firehose of falsehood. If the opposition just starts ignoring all the nonsense their strategy falls apart, so it's vital for them to insist that everything must be investigated and taken seriously.

MTG is mad because she thinks she's being clever, and people who think they're being clever tend to throw a hissy fit when they have the rug pulled out from under them.

Paul Pelosi Conspiracy Theory Trends on Twitter After Elon Musk Pushes It

A baseless conspiracy theory about the assault of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul Pelosi trended on Twitter Monday morning after being boosted all weekend by prominent conservatives and even new Twitter owner Elon Musk.

Hashtags including “PelosiGayLover,” “PelosiSmollett,” “PelosiGate,” and “Listen to the 911” appeared in the trending bar amid the proliferation of false claims about the attack and mockery of Pelosi. Several prominent right-wing figures pushed the false idea that both the attacker and Pelosi were in their underwear at the time of the assault, and that Pelosi knew his attacker and that they were actually lovers because Pelosi had referred to him as a “friend” while attempting to tip off 911 dispatchers as to his situation.

When Scalise was attacked, here is what Nancy Pelosi released:

“We are profoundly grateful for the heroism of the Capitol Police, whose bravery under fire undoubtedly saved countless lives. On days like today, there are no Democrats or Republicans, only Americans united in our hopes and prayers for the wounded.”

2017:

https://www.speaker.gov/newsroom/61417-2

Now that Nancy Pelosi's husband was attacked, republicans create homophobic conspiracy theories and memes. Disgusting.

Hope this pushes more people to delete their Twitter accounts.

GOP isn't looking for your best interest

GOP Candidate for Governor Commits to Accepting Election Result… If She Wins

KARI LAKE, A television journalist turned MAGA candidate to be Arizona’s next governor, rejected an invitation on Sunday to commit to electoral democracy, opting instead to copy Donald Trump’s brand of . Pressured repeatedly on whether she’d accept the results of the election regardless of the result, Lake said she’d accept if she won — and then laid the groundwork for contesting the election if she loses.

“I’m going to win the election, and I will accept that result,” Lake said Sunday on CNN. Asked if she’d accept the result if she loses, Lake paused, smiled, and said: “I’m going to win the election, and I will accept that result. The people of Arizona will never support and vote for a coward like [Democratic nominee] Katie Hobbs.”

That nonsense that dumb Donald started must end. If you’re not willing to accept the outcome of an election if you lose you should not be allowed to participate in the election.

The right wing has abandoned compromise or even discussing policy, and had made everything about us-or-them culture wars. It started in the 70s, got worse under Gingrich, and was supercharged with Trump. Dems can't work with a party like that to make the country better. The GOP needs to abandon fascism and really negotiate if we have any hope of bipartisanship. Anything else is just a concession that rachets us further in a very dangerous direction.

GOP plan to cut Social Security, Medicare in 2023 comes into view

Democrats have spent much of the year warning voters that Republicans will seek cuts to Social Security and Medicare if put in power, and an amazing number of GOP officials and candidates have bolstered the claims. What’s new this week, however, is Republicans signaling how they intend to pursue their goal.

It was two weeks ago when President Joe Biden warned the public that Social Security and Medicare would end up on “the chopping block” if Republicans have their way, and the rhetoric hardly seemed outlandish. In recent months, there’s been no shortage of prominent GOP voices — from Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson to New Hampshire’s Don Bolduc to Rep. Buddy Carter of Georgia — who’ve bolstered Biden’s claims.

Here is the report:

Entitlement, Spending Cap Plans Linked by GOP to Debt-Limit Deal

Key GOP members weigh Social Security, Medicare changes

Debt-limit deadline expected in third quarter of 2023

The Republican Study Committee, the largest group of House Republicans, released a budget plan in June that called on lawmakers to gradually raise the Medicare age of eligibility to 67 and the Social Security eligibility to 70 before indexing both to life expectancy. It backed withholding payments to those who retired early and had earnings over a certain limit. And it endorsed the consideration of options to reduce payroll taxes that fund Social Security and redirect them to private alternatives. It also urged lawmakers to “phase-in an increase in means testing” for Medicare.

Smith said Republicans will focus on “protecting and preserving” Social Security and Medicare, but he declined to say specifically if he supports the RSC proposal to raise the eligibility age. He said broadly that Republicans would find “innovative ways to drive down the cost of health care.”

This needs to be blasted everywhere: Republicans are coming for your Social Security and Medicare.

Republicans on a roll

DeSantis under investigation for misuse of COVID-19 funds

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is under investigation over whether he misused taxpayer dollars to fly dozens of migrants to Martha’s Vineyard, and it’s the Treasury Department who is heading the probe.

The department is planning to investigate whether DeSantis misused COVID-19 recovery funds to fly the migrants from Texas to Massachusetts, last September.

Stealing from sick people is part of the GOP moral values.

Republicans "wE aRe FoR tHe pEoPlE" use Covid funds for his political stunt instead of using in Floriduh.

Ohio's Dewine did something similiar.

Instead of disbursing FEDERAL PUA FUNDS to eligible recipients (in the middle of a pandemic), he sent the PUA $ back to the feds to pay off a federal loan Ohio needed because its unemployment compensation fund was underfunded BY DEWINE himself, all the while claiming this would prevent future tax increases on Ohio employers that would have been needed to pay off the loan due to HIS OWN INCOMPETENCE, and a tax levy that he himself could prevent by not aproving of it in the first place.

Cruel to PUA recipients

A shell game - (aka a "short con" trick) easy and quick to pull off one that the voting public is told is good for them, and/or, that hides the scam.

Abbott, DeSantis, Dewine - axis of evil.

Dirty Dewine is destructive to the people of Ohio.

Roger Stone Threw a Fit After Not Getting Pardon, Called Ivanka ‘Abortionist Bitch’

After Roger Stone wasn’t granted a post-Jan. 6 pardon, he grew so upset that he suggested fighting Jared Kushner, the man tapped as the point person for handling 11th-hour Trump pardons.

In new exclusive footage obtained by The Daily Beast, a yet-to-be-released documentary captured Stone’s meltdown after learning on President Joe Biden’s inauguration day that he wouldn’t be granted a second coveted legal protection, this time to shield from any Jan 6 legal fallout. (Trump issued a pardon to Stone in December 2020.)

I am fucking FLABERGASTED that these people let a CAMERA CREW follow them around while they tried to overturn a whole federal election. Absolutely bonkers!

https://www.cracked.com/amp/blog/trump-adviser-roger-stone-giant-anthropomorphic-dick So much more to learn. “In 1996, Stone was fired from his position in Bob Dole's presidential campaign after the discovery of a personal ad he and his wife had taken out in a swinger magazine and website called Local Swinger Fever. The ad read: Hot, insatiable lady and her handsome body builder husband, experienced swingers, seek similar couples or exceptional muscular ... single men. They also imposed a strict ban on fatties. Only athletes and soldiers would be allowed in Roger Stone's fuck-palace. It's a damn shame he didn't add a trashy cherry on top by requesting his trashy suitor bring Angel Dust and a sixer of Coors.”

Mehmet Oz Busted: Woman He 'Comforted' At Event Was Reportedly An Aide

The campaign for Mehmet Oz, a Pennsylvania Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, did not inform media outlets that a woman Oz consoled at a “community discussion” in September was actually the campaign’s Philadelphia County coordinator, The Intercept reported.

Oz spoke with Sheila Armstrong, who had shared a photo identifying her as a campaign aide in June, and comforted her as she described the shooting deaths of her brother and nephew, several Philadelphia-area news outlets reported.

Someone alert Alex Jones, we’ve finally found a crisis actor!

The one constant of conservative politicians is that they all play their own supporters for absolute morons. They think so little of the people who's vote they're trying to win. It's a con and right wingers are the marks.

Just like the man holding up the "Blacks For America" sign behind Trump, it's disappointing to see people exploit their particular status for cash and/or clout when dealing with parties that will turn on them once they're in power.

“THIS IS NOT A PROP. THIS IS REAL”: GOP SENATE CANDIDATE HERSCHEL WALKER FUMBLES ON GEORGIA DEBATE STAGE

At the fiery Georgia Senate debate on Friday night, former NFL running back Herschel Walker pulled out a fake police badge, backpedaled on his views about abortion, and admitted President Joe Biden won the 2020 election.

I actually feel bad for him after seeing him in clips from that debate. Don't get me wrong, I don't want him anywhere near our government, but that man has clearly had too many head injuries.

He claimed to have multiple personality disorder. Which he uses to explain why he tried to kill his wife.

He got off so easy in this debate. Warnock was way too restrained. As were the moderators.

the ruling class is not innocuous

The public and working classes need to understand, as prior generations did, that the obscene wealth of the ruling class is not innocuous.

I.e., the ruling class is robbing, enslaving, gaslighting, and socially murdering the public and working classes without recourse, using the wealth and power generated from the fruits of humanity's collective labor.

The ruling class use their obscene wealth and power to bludgeon everyone else into "accepting" increasingly awful deals.

Our current political and economic system is an abomination and a crime against humanity.

Currently, 10% of people own between 72-90% of the wealth, and by extension own the other 90% of people with the remaining 10-28% of the wealth.

As George Carlin said, you have owners.

In the same way that slaves were kept ignorant and illiterate in order to maintain slavery, the ruling class keeps the working classes and the public wildly ignorant and miseducated in order to maintain capitalism/kleptocracy in its current form.

We do not live in a democracy, we live in an oligarchy/plutocracy/kleptocracy with pseudo-democratic features that legitimize systems of mass human enslavement, abuse, and exploitation for the benefit of the ruling class.

We need to evolve into an actual democracy in the 21st century.

People have been deliberately miseducated about the system we're living under, and it's time to make both our political systems and our economic systems work for everyone and not just the ruling class.

Democracy at Work: Curing Capitalism | Richard Wolff | Talks at Google

Introduction to Marxism

While we're at it, we should shorten the fucking work week so people have the time and energy to do more than be exploited for the profits of the ruling class, AND significantly reduce climate emissions.

As the Federal Reserve attempts to tackle inflation by raising interest rates (payments to those with the most capital) and increasing unemployment, we should all be aware that that is not the only choice available in order to have a sustainable economy with low inflation.

Congress and state legislatures could also increase taxes on the obscenely wealthy, shorten the work week to spread the available work around more sensibly (without the enormous poverty and suffering created by unemployment under this system), implement actual anti-trust laws for the 21st century, create a functional housing system to get rent and housing prices under control, implement universal healthcare to get healthcare costs under control (and save hundreds of billions of dollars and hundreds of thousands of lives annually), etc.

Both "inflation" and "getting 'inflation' under control" are examples of how the public and working classes are being robbed, enslaved, gaslit, and socially murdered without recourse by the ruling class in broad daylight, with the wealth and power generated from the fruits of humanity's collective labor.

But you won't hear about the actual causes of (or solutions to) "inflation" in most mainstream media, because the ruling class owns or otherwise controls that, too.

Absolute abomination of a system.

Racist Trump

Donald Trump has appeared to threaten the highest ranking member of his own party in Washington, and made a racial slur against his wife.
In a message posted on his social media platform, Trump railed against Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.
"Is McConnell approving all of these trillions of dollars worth of Democrat sponsored bills, without even the slightest bit of negotiation, because he hates Donald J Trump, and he knows I am strongly opposed to them," Trump wrote.

He is racist and so are the people that support him. They'll still support him and probably make T-shirts poking fun at her.

No, not Trump. He is the least racist person you will ever meet, he said so himself. /s

Immigrant Republican Senator Rafael Edward Cruz

White House says Ted Cruz voted against highway project he touted as ‘victory’

The Texas Republican senator Ted Cruz called a new highway project “a great bipartisan victory” that will bring “jobs to Texas and millions of dollars to the state”.

The White House responded: “Senator Cruz voted against this.”

If Teddy didn’t stand for hypocrisy, he wouldn’t have anything to stand for.

Typical. The Florida Republicans are running around the state saying how glad they are to be able to deliver checks to counties paid for by the federal infrastructure bill that they voted against and campaigned against. Ron DeSantis is even running around with those giant fake checks to present to mayors, and County Chairpersons. Hypocrites.

Ted Cruz was booed by a Texas audience when he said his plan to end school shootings is putting more police officers in schools

Sen. Ted Cruz was met with boos from a Texas audience when he said that his plan to combat school shootings is placing more police officers in schools.

Cruz spoke about guns and other contentious topics at the Texas Tribune Festival in Austin on Saturday, where he was met with a responsive audience.

Ted Cruz should be booed all the time, any place in perpetuity.

Police departments are only gonna send their worst to patrol schools.

Uvalde made all Republican answers to mass shootings absurd.

376 law enforcement officers waited approximately 73 minutes to engage ONE active shooter while children bled out on the floor, or called out for help and were executed after police told them to speak up and then did nothing to protect them. Police protect property, not people.

Ted Cruz said Republicans don't criticize Trump because if they do, 'he turns around and punches them in the face' for it.

Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas said his Republican peers are hesitant to criticize former President Donald Trump because if they do, Trump "turns around and punches them in the face."

Cruz made the comments at the Texas Tribune Festival in Austin on Saturday while speaking to The Washington Examiner's David Drucker.

Dumbass, First he punched you in the face, and then you prioritized him.

Ted you spineless craven bastard.

I swear Republicans' following of Trump is the embodiment of an actual abusive relationship. Like it feels as if sometimes they really, really want to separate from him, and even stand up against him every so often. But then they'll tell the police (i.e. Congress) the door gave them the black eye and blame everyone (mainly Democrats) but themselves for their misery by following him or tries to punish those for trying to him for his actions. It's asinine and shows how little of a spine they have.

It's 2022

Ted Cruz is a senator from Texas, he is more scared of a fraudster failed businessman reality TV show host than of the parents of murdered children.

Ted Cruz votes against bipartisan bill to prevent another Jan. 6

U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, broke from his own party in voting against a bipartisan bill that would bar him from singlehandedly objecting to presidential election results, as he did on Jan. 6, 2021.

The bill, dubbed the Electoral Count Reform and Presidential Transition Improvement Act, aims to prevent a constitutional crisis like the one that nearly occurred on Jan. 6, 2021. It clarifies procedural ambiguities that former President Donald Trump tried to exploit in an attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.

Sex offender seeking pre-emptive pardon from Trump

Matt Gaetz wanted Trump to give him pre-emptive pardon over sex investigation, report says

Matt Gaetz told a former White House staffer that he was hoping to get a pre-emptive pardon from then-President Donald Trump concerning an investigation into him by the Department of Justice, a report has said.

The allegation came in testimony given to the House Select Committee investigating the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021, The Washington Post reported.

How to admit you are guilty without actually saying it.

Because that's what innocent people do.

Ah yes, the party of Family Values and the Bible.

Gaetz sought pardon related to Justice Department sex trafficking probe

Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) told a former White House aide that he was seeking a preemptive pardon from President Donald Trump regarding an investigation in which he is a target, according to testimony given to the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Johnny McEntee, according to people familiar with his testimony, told investigators that Gaetz told him during a brief meeting “that they are launching an investigation into him or that there’s an investigation into him,” without specifying who was investigating Gaetz.

I'm old enough to remember when political careers ended when you were caught with prostitutes underage or not..

We knew Gaetz had asked for pardons from the testimony of several people prior to this, and he has been under investigation since 2020. His own associate entered a plea deal and has pled guilty to 6 criminal charges. His ex-girlfriend has also been given immunity and is fully cooperating with investigators.

..Meanwhile, he has a >99% chance of winning his race in 2 months against Rebekah Jones.

Our country and its electorate is deeply, deeply broken..

The fact this guy hasn’t been arrested and charged speaks volumes for how shit our justice department is at holding people in power accountable for crimes they commit.

Matt Gaetz 'Must' Be Removed From Committee After Pardon Report: Ted Lieu

Calls for Representative Matt Gaetz's removal from a key committee position have begun after it was reported that the Republican Florida congressman sought a pre-emptive pardon from former President Donald Trump.

The news first broke on Saturday from The Washington Post. According to the report, Gaetz allegedly told former White House aide Johnny McEntee that he had asked chief of staff Mark Meadows for a pre-emptive pardon from Trump due to an investigation against him. When investigators pressed further, McEntee said that the investigation in question was probably the Department of Justice's (DOJ) probe into allegations that the congressman had violated sex trafficking laws.

He must he removed from committees.

He must be removed from Congress.

He must be charged and removed from the public.

Trump Incite violence

Trump Says Americans Won't 'Stand' For Charges Against Him, Warns Of Trouble

Donald Trump said Thursday that Americans will not “stand” for indictments against him regarding top secret documents he took from the White House — and ominously warned that criminal charges could trigger “big problems” never before seen.

Trump also declared that he issued a standing order to declassify everything he took from the White House. It’s a resurrected claim that even his attorneys haven’t presented in court filings — and one contradicted by several Trump administration officials.

We've seen what them not standing for it looks like Donald, you gave us a preview on January 6th, remember?

If they think their next attempt will go better for them, they're sorely mistaken. There won't be an inside man preventing national guard from being deployed or weakening the capital police presence beforehand.

His supporters aren’t going to do shit. We’ve seen their best and it ain’t much. The rule of law needs to be upheld and he needs to be brought to justice for his treasonous acts.

TRUMP ALL BUT CALLS FOR ANOTHER JANUARY 6 IF HE’S INDICTED OVER CLASSIFIED DOCUMENTS

omething you might have noticed over the last several years is that Donald Trump is a big fan of violence. Not directly getting involved in violence—he’d never dirty his hands in that way—but inciting people to engage in it on his behalf, the most famous example being the time he incited an insurrection at the US Capitol that left multiple people dead. Which is why it was more than a little disturbing when he warned on Thursday that there would be “big problems” if he were indicted for hoarding top secret government documents at his house.

It's proven true that the Trump-ettes and Maga-heads don't care about consequences that don't effect them.

Here's hoping we're prepared for it this time...

As if insurrection wasn't enough, now he wants to trigger a civil war because he is going to answer for committing treason! And his faithful stooges will tell themselves "He has the right"!

He's overplayed his cards. Most Americans aren't going to care either way. A few idiots will likely do violence. A lot of people will be celebrating. I'd stay away from Walmart for a few weeks though. (Actually just don't ever go there again because Walmart is evil anyway)

So, if he gets indicted, and they start to try storming the prison they taken too, there will be violence. But unlike the Capitol, the cops will shoot to kill as will anyone else that's order to guard him.

The cops aren't federal cops that had no backup. The national guard or the US military may also be there.

I'm sure some of TFG will shoot back, but they may lack the fire power to do anything.

You can also bet that DC would also be locked down expecting them.

They won't do shit beyond protest holding signs. There's someone in the oval office that understands his job (unlike the last guy) and won't hesitate to call in the guard (unlike the last guy). We'll be alright.

Human trafficker DeSantis

DeSantis’ Migrant Stunt Is Kidnapping by Another Name

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis flew about 50 Venezuelan immigrants from Texas to Martha’s Vineyard on Wednesday night, as part of a Republican effort to expose—in the words of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)—liberal “hypocrisy” for (supposedly) supporting pro-immigrant border policies but (supposedly) being outraged over the immigrants coming to their communities.

But Sen. Cruz is wrong. There’s no outrage over helping these people.

The outrage is over the fraud used to trick these vulnerable people into the political stunt. A woman presumably hired by the state of Florida reportedly lured the immigrants onto the plane with free food and promises that they would get “expedited work papers” when they arrived. They were also told ample housing and jobs awaited them on the small island.

This was a crime perpetrated on some of the most vulnerable people in this country.

Playing politics with the most vulnerable population they can find. For Republicans, isn't that just "Thursday"?

It's not kidnapping by another name. It's kidnapping.

Technically it's human trafficking.

DeSantis could be charged with kidnap after moving migrants to Martha’s Vineyard

The Department of Justice has been tapped by California Governor Gavin Newsom to investigate whether Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s controversial decision to send two flights of migrants north would amount to “kidnapping”.

“I strongly urge the U.S. Department of Justice (US DOJ) to open an investigation into possible criminal or civil violations of federal law based on this alleged fraudulent scheme,” Gov Newsom wrote in a 15 September letter addressed to US Attorney General Merrick Garland.

If Matt Gaetz can transport children across state lines and no one does shit, why do we think anyone is going to care about DeSantis doing it with migrants?

These immigrants were lied to and coerced under false pretenses onto these planes. Florida/Texas knew by transporting them across the country they would have no way of making their next immigration hearing, thus being the exclusive reason for their failure to appear in court.

There must be consequences. If I did this exact thing, there would be.

Pro Russian Trump

Trump compliments 'fierce' and 'smart' Putin and applauds Xi Jinping for ruling China with an 'iron fist'

Former President Donald Trump praised Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping during a Saturday rally in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, a video shows.

"I've got to know a lot of the foreign leaders, and let me tell you, unlike our leader, they're at the top of their game," Trump said, comparing Xi and Putin to President Joe Biden.

Putin is exactly what happens when a political party gives up everything to support one man. One man cuts ultimate lead an entire nation on his own. Eventually power corrupts, and then you start fearing those around you. So you don't hire competent people, you hire loyalist, people who will do whatever you say regardless of if they should. All the people with alternative and better ideas are forced out as "traitors" and replaced by yes men.

The fact that Trump is praising these two dictators is no surprise. He wanted the United States to go that route with him at the helm. He does not care about the future of the United States, only about solidifying his name and power in history books. That's literally all he cares about. He was more interested in photo ops than he was understanding our Healthcare system, crime issues, the rights of citizens. He could care fucking less. He wants power and money, just like putin, and he will lie, cheat, steal, and blackmail his own people to make that happen. It's just fucking nuts to me.

Meanwhile Trump repeatedly praises dictators and wants to consolidate his own power;

Trump has "joked" about wanting to consolidate his power like his dictator colleague in China, President Xi.[1]

Trump has repeatedly "joked" about serving for more than the legal limit of 2 terms.[2]

Trump has repeatedly praised dictators including Putin, Duterte, Erdogan, and el-Sisi.[3]

Trump praised brutal dictator[4] Kim Jong Un calling him "strong, funny, and smart."[5]

At a G7 summit President Trump loudly asked "where's my favourite dictator?" As he awaited for the Egyptian dictator.[6]

Trump has looked up into the sky and proclaimed that he is the chosen one.[7]

Trump shared a tweet declaring himself the King of Israel and the second coming of God.[8]
