Book banning lawmaker is sad

Book ban lawmaker “very sad” that a parent is using his law to ban the “sex-ridden” Bible

In response to the group’s efforts, Utah lawmakers passed H.B. 374, which requires public K–12 schools to remove books containing “pornographic or indecent material.”

Included in the December 11 Bible challenge was an eight-page list of passages the parent says are considered unacceptable under the law.

“Incest, onanism, bestiality, prostitution, genital mutilation, fellatio, dildos, rape, and even infanticide,” the parent, who noted that they have actually read the Bible, wrote. “You’ll no doubt find that the Bible, under Utah Code Ann. § 76-10-1227, has ‘no serious values for minors’ because it’s pornographic by our new definition.”

“Get this PORN out of our schools,” they continued. “If the books that have been banned so far are any indication for way lesser offenses, this should be a slam dunk.”

Funny how these people that make absurd rules and laws have a really hard time following those exact rules and laws when it applies to them.

“There was a purpose to the bill and this kind of stuff, it’s very unfortunate,” he said

Yup, that purpose was for you to cherry pick what you want to ban. He can dish it out but can't take it. What a maroon.

Everything else aside, wasn’t the alleged purpose to prevent indoctrination of children? Nothing does that more than a literal religious text. What was he thinking? Saying something like this goes against the purpose of the bill is legit just admitting the purpose was cherry-picking, right?

Not in their eyes. You have to remember that when you are raised religious, that becomes your default world view. You see that way as "the way things are supposed to be" and so in his mind, he's "keeping the order" and thinks he's using his position to get more people back to following God so that it will make the world a better place or something to that effect.

He's coming at this from a position of "everything (I think) the Bible says is what should make the best laws" and so he thinks that means banning anything sexually immoral, deviant, etc. but unlike a good number of the people in this comments section, he has never looked into other ways of living because to consider living in a way that he thinks is immoral would be to sin. So without that outside perspective, he thinks he's doing good, when he's actually both causing societal downfall and also shooting himself in the foot with people calling to ban the Bible as an act of malicious compliance. He likely didn't think until that moment about the Bible having the same kind of objectionable stuff in it that he was trying to ban in the first place because to him, it's the default.

Exactly. A non-believer understands they're using religion as a tool to indoctrinate children to their own ends, and that this law is not useful to that end.

But for someone raised religious who really believes, for them to see what they are doing is indoctrinating children would require him to entertain the idea that he himself was indoctrinated, a thought that his brain will immediately discard for clashing with his worldview.

There's an old saying... I'm not sure if I remember it clearly but it went something like "fuck your feelings"

Trump pressured the Georgia's House Speaker to overturn the 2020

Georgia special grand jury heard a recorded call in which Trump pressured the state's House Speaker to convene a session to overturn the 2020 vote: report

Jurors for Georgia's special grand jury investigating efforts to overturn the 2020 election heard a recording of a call from former President Donald Trump, during which he urged the state's House Speaker for a special legislative session to investigate alleged voter fraud, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

Probably a quite few Republicans who are sitting on very damning information, but they know it would make them look dumb by association. There is zero courage in the Republican party when you can name on one hand the representatives that have publicly pushed back.

It continues to be insane how little regard Trump had for the democratic process, and how little that bothers our most fervent 'patriots'.

His politics almost doesn't matter compared to how much damage he was willing to do just to retain power. I've lost respect for everyone who doesn't see that.

The people mentally rewriting history by complaining that 'x didn't happen under Trump' are worse than useless for what they're willing to excuse in the name of perceived personal gain.

These fucking traitors tried to overthrow the Republic and burn the Constitution 2 years ago and the worst that has happened to them is that Trump might get indicted over a payoff to Stormy. Our nation is a fucking joke.

The idea that he’s currently running for re election pretty much says it all. We’re about fifteen years into the free fall phase, where everything collapses around us while we pretend we’re great.

"Jaw-dropping": Experts stunned after report reveals new tape of Trump pressuring Georgia official

AFulton County grand jury heard a previously unreported recording of former President Donald Trump pressuring a top Georgia Republican to help overturn his election loss in the state, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The special grand jury investigated Trump's efforts to overturn his election in the state after District Attorney Fani Willis launched a probe into the former president's infamous phone call pressuring Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to "find" enough votes to reverse his loss. But five grand jurors who spoke with AJC revealed that investigators also have an audio recording of Trump pressuring then-Georgia House Speaker David Ralston to push for a special session to reverse President Joe Biden's win.

Would have been great if all of these Republican election officials Trump was badgering to overthrow US democracy had blown the whistle to defend US democracy.

Trump did this all over the country and just one election official in Georgia went public?

Fucking cowardly seditious fucks.

Never vote Republican

The only jaw-dropping thing is that trump wasn't arrested the day that the Georgia SoS released the tape of trump extorting him to alter election results.

Merrick Garland said that everyone is treated the same by the DoJ. No special treatment for anyone, including presidents and former presidents.

Trump has always hired/appointed/selected people who would do anything, so that he could say what he wanted and indicate that they should help him get it done, despite that being a criminal act. He never takes the blame for anything. However, the string of events in several different affairs, er I mean things, lead to inevitable conclusions that any reasonable person can see. Maybe now he will have to review that question, "What have I got to lose by trying for this?"

Maybe there will finally be some justice for the slime.

If Republicans voters had the ability to see how they'd feel if Obama had done the same thing the world would be a sane place again. They have zero ability to critically think.

Grifter grifts 1.5 million dollars in 3 days

Donald Trump's fans sent him $1.5 million in 3 days after he falsely claimed that he'd get arrested on Tuesday

Trump's earlier claim of his Tuesday arrest was false, but it's already boosted his fundraising.

He raised $1.5 million in the three days after saying he'd be arrested, per multiple reports.

That's $500,000 per day, or almost double the daily average he received when he launched his 2024 bid.

The more these folks get scammed, the more desperate they become. And they aren’t the types to cut their losses and move on. They’ll double down on their fanaticism before admitting they got fleeced.

These assholes are against forgiving 10k in student loans but will happily give a "millionare" ex president money.

Honestly, 1.5 million feels like a lot less than I expected. Maybe he'll get the real grift going when the actual perp-walk happens.

That’s why he wants handcuffs and a perp walk. For the grift. Every southern trailer dining room will have Jesus on the cross next to their picture of the new messiah in chains.

For a guy that claims to be a multibillionaire… he sure needs a lot of crowd sourcing.

Trump tries to rile up his base to fight against law enforcement

Some Trump supporters ambivalent on calls for protests

Former President Donald Trump’s calls for protests ahead of his anticipated indictment in New York have generated mostly muted reactions from supporters, with even some of his most ardent loyalists dismissing the idea as a waste of time or a law enforcement trap.

No shit. Even they know he didn’t do anything for the last batch of insurrectionists he riled up.

They saw all the Jan 6ers are still be rounded up and Trump is decidedly NOT paying their legal bills,

He pardoned 5 russian spies instead.

It took many years and I'm sure thousands of their personal finances down the drain to get them to see the con-man that's been there the whole time.

Just in time to get conned by the next loser the GOP puts up.

Trump indictment could land as early as Monday, sending law enforcement scrambling

Law enforcement officials are meeting at NYPD headquarters in lower Manhattan on Monday afternoon to plan for a possible indictment of former President Donald Trump on charges stemming from payments to a porn star, a person involved in the planning told POLITICO.

An indictment by a grand jury is expected late Monday or Wednesday, according to three people involved in the deliberations.

I would think for security purposes it will probably be Thursday. Keep it away from the weekend and a couple days past the date Trump stated (and most of his supporters have left) to minimize possible violence.

New York DA had been building several cases related to tax fraud, embezzlement, and international money laundering (per rumors) but those fizzled out which led to speculation that those cases either weren't a slam dunk, or the evidence against him was tainted somehow. He has committed crimes, there's little doubt to that, but proving it in court has been problematic.

Once he is under indictment, there is far more leverage to pry up additional information and evidence. Every statement is sworn testimony, and Trump is a guy who can't help but lie about stuff. The money trail could lead in several directions, and he won't be able to claim executive privilege in this one. It will be embarrassing for him personally, and dangerous for his colleagues and attorneys professionally.

The nightmare scenario is that he beats the charge in court and gets to take victory laps while fundraising for his next round of indictments. Once he's found guilty of something, the support from the deep pockets will probably dry up, and it's going to be far easier to tag him for additional crimes.

Trump in panic mode as he braces for likely charges in Stormy Daniels case

Donald Trump is bracing for his most legally perilous week since he left the White House, with the Manhattan district attorney likely to bring criminal charges against him over his role in paying hush money to adult film star Stormy Daniels, as he huddled this weekend to strategize his legal and political responses.

It’s not against the law to cheat on your wife. [Edit: turns out it kinda IS in New York!]

It’s not against the law to cheat on your wife with a porn star.

It’s not against the law to cheat on your wife with a porn star and have your attorney pay her to keep it quiet.

It’s not against the law to cheat on your wife with a porn star, have your attorney pay her to keep it quiet, and then lie to people about it.

It’s not illegal to do any of that while running a campaign for public office.

Turns out though, that when you cheat on your wife with a porn star and have your attorney pay her to keep it quiet…using campaign funds in that transaction IS illegal. And lying about using campaign funds in that transaction is ALSO illegal.

Trump well knew what was going on Jan 6

Let's also remember that Jan. 6 did not live in a vacuum, as Tucker Carlson and the GOP would like you to believe by cherry-picking this day and making a red herring out of it. It was not simply a group of ragtag conspiracy theorists who spontaneously got out of hand.

It was the culmination of a months-long, multi-faceted effort at every level of government and conservative media - led by the President of the United States to overturn his election loss.

If successful, these efforts would have invalidated 81 million votes, ended any semblance of democracy as it had stood for 235 years, and established the U.S. as an authoritarian state.

These are all actions and events related to Trump known before the Jan. 6 committee even held its first hearings:

It's nothing short of a miracle that the people involved resisted and worse things did not happen.

All of this could happen again as well:

AFTER the attack happened, the same night - 147 Republican lawmakers returned to the broken-glass halls of the Capitol and still voted to overturn the election. Most of them remain in Congress today.

Marjorie Taylor Greene on a roll again

Marjorie Taylor Greene falsely claims Biden was responsible for fentanyl deaths that occurred under Trump

Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has once again publicly made a false statement, this time claiming brothers who died in connection with their fentanyl addictions were the fault of Joe Biden's border policies despite the men dying during the Trump administration.

Ms Greene told the story of the brothers during a Congressional hearing on 28 February and she blamed Mr Biden's border policies for their deaths.

Caleb, 20, and Kyler Kiessling, 18, died on 29 July 2020 when they accidentally overdosed on fentanyl. The brothers, along with 17-year-old Sophia Harris, took pills they believed to be Percocet, but which actually contained fentanyl.

I’m not going to blame a grieving mother for saying outrageous things; losing a child makes makes you desperate for any answers about a tragedy. But her ire is literal GOP talking points that even right wing thinktanks have debunked Just last year, the Cato Institute noted that nearly all fentanyl is smuggled in by US citizens and then sold to US citizens.

It’s the Republicans’s xenophobic narrative that is providing protection for the actual drug dealers. This narrative is a part of their 2024 campaign as well, so the party will continue to create cover for more drug dealers, resulting in more grieving mothers.

I wonder if the Mother will ever figure out she was used like this

CNN journalist Daniel Dale contacted Ms Greene's office for comment on the fact that the deaths Ms Greene was attributing to the Biden administration actually occurred under former President Donald Trump.

"[Ms Greene's] Spokesman Nick Dyer responded by saying lots of people have died from drugs under Biden and 'do you think they give a f*** about your bulls*** fact checking?'" he wrote in a Twitter post.

He then asked the spokesman to comment on other comments Ms Greene made before Congress, including election lies that Mr Trump actually won Georgia and that the state counted the votes of thousands of dead individuals.

The spokesman was unable to respond to minimal scrutiny, and replied "f*** you."

Marjorie Taylor Greene Says Conservatives Need Their Own ‘Safe Space’

Critics of “woke” policies are usually pretty skeptical about snowflakes calling for safe spaces—but Marjorie Taylor Greene is suddenly all for the idea. The Georgia lawmaker even went so far as to claim that MAGA Republicans “deserve” one of their own. “We’re fed up with Democrat policies, we’re fed up with the woke ideology being shoved down our throat, and we’re tired of our children being brainwashed into these same ideas,” Greene told Sean Hannity on Fox News on Tuesday. “We want our own safe space and we deserve it,” Greene added while discussing her recent advocacy for a “national divorce” between red and blue states. Commenting on Greene’s remarks, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) tweeted: “Republicans ridiculed ‘safe spaces’ and called people ‘snowflakes’, this coming from one of their leaders is literally hilarious.”

The same woman who thinks it's okay to stand up and during the middle of the State of the Union by the President of the United States and scream, "liar liar!" is butt hurt because somebody stood up in a restaurant and said fuck you? I just can't.

Marjorie Taylor Greene 'Attacked' by Woman While at Restaurant

Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has said she was attacked while sitting at a table in a restaurant.

Greene said a woman and her son began shouting at her like "demons" while she was working with her staff on Monday evening (February 27), saying that the two of them were "completely out of control."

In a tweet, Greene said: "I was attacked in a restaurant tonight by an insane women and screamed at by her adult son. They had no respect for the restaurant or the staff or the other people dining or people like me who simply have different political views.

But harassing teen victims of mass shoots while chasing them down the street isn’t Batshit crazy?

Fact check: Trump delivers wildly dishonest speech at CPAC

Fact check: Trump delivers wildly dishonest speech at CPAC

As president, Donald Trump made some of his most thoroughly dishonest speeches at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference.

As he embarks on another campaign for the presidency, Trump delivered another CPAC doozy Saturday night.

Trump’s lengthy address to the right-wing gathering in Maryland was filled with wildly inaccurate claims about his own presidency, Joe Biden’s presidency, foreign affairs, crime, elections and other subjects.

Republicans - do you at all see any issues with the fact that you have to lie and create conspiracies to justify your actions?

I’m stuck on him saying we’re going to start building cities on the frontier.

… what frontier is he talking about? There’s no way he thinks there’s just …. Vast unclaimed land out west anymore.

It’s too bad the cult members will never read this article. Even though it’s right here for all to see.

They might read it, but they just won’t believe the fact checks.

Reality is leftist propaganda.

Here's the fact check. His supporters are too dumb, ignorant, and angry to care about any facts.

Has there ever been a speech Trump gave that wasn’t wildly dishonest?

Despite Republicans cooling on him, CPAC is still the Trump show

Saturday marked the final day of the Conservative Political Action Conference, and former President Donald Trump delivered the closing act.

"Change only happens if we plow fearlessly ahead and declare with one voice that the era of woke and weaponized government is over. That is our task, that is our mission. And this is the turning point and the time for that decision," Trump said, speaking to a crowd of CPAC attendees at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in Maryland. The speech comes more than three months after he announced another bid for president.

It is like a monster that feeds from attention. Stop talking about him.

Many of these 2024 hopefuls are instead attending a weekend event hosted by the conservative economics organization Club For Growth – which notably did not invite Trump. Though the group supported Trump during his 2020 campaign, it publicly split from him during the 2022 midterms when he began endorsing far-right candidates that the organization did not support.

These are the red flags that he hasn't gone away as a threat, and mainstream news media just seems to be willfully downplaying them.

Donald Trump said he won't drop out of the 2024 race even if he is indicted

Donald Trump, who is waging a third election campaign as he faces a mountain of legal battles and criminal probes, said he would not drop out of the 2024 race if he were indicted.

"I wouldn't even think about leaving," Trump told reporters on Saturday at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Maryland, according to CNN.

"Probably it will enhance my numbers," Trump added, per an ABC News report.

Trump faces several criminal investigations and civil lawsuits as he ramps up his 2024 campaign.

Is this the same Donald Trump that said if he lost the last election we'd never see him again???

Hasn't stopped the Texas AG, Ken Paxton... Why would it slow TFG down. Hell Paxton's been reelected since his indictment, 8 years ago. Fucking hate the "justice" system here.

Well yeah, he desperately needs the campaign donation grift money.

You know that the GOP is begging Trump not to run again. People came out in record numbers in 2020, making Trump the fifth president in the past 100 years to not win reelection. Then they got humiliated in the midterms, where most of the Trump-endorsed candidates lost. The GOP knows that Trump is poison. They know that they can't win with him at the helm. But Trump has officially taken them hostage and is forcing them to stand behind him and only him.

People have said this repeatedly in the past, but it's true now more than ever: The Republican party has lost all control of the monster they created.

Republicans grapple with how to nominate someone other than Trump in 2024

How to stop Donald Trump is the question lighting up Republican circles as some in the party grapple with what it might take to nominate someone other than former president in 2024.

The disagreement boils down to the other options – and how many of them there should be. Some think a small field with a clear alternative to Trump – perhaps Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis – is how the party can best set a new course. Others maintain that a larger field with more competing ideas is needed to reorient the GOP away from the former president.

A GOP Field Guide to Stopping Donald Trump in 2024

  • Convict him of impeachment for inciting an insurrection.
  • Convict him of impeachment for attempting to extort an ally using U.S. military aid.
  • Impeach him for an inept and catastrophic response to a global pandemic, leading to the deaths of over 1 million Americans, an estimated 400,000+ more than would've died had he not been President.
  • Impeach him for violating the emoluments clause of the Constitution roughly 1,358,738,562,106,389 times.
  • Impeach him for his campaign's ties to a foreign adversary with a clear mission to give him an advantage in the election and/or his extraordinary efforts to obstruct the investigation into that conduct.
  • Withdraw your support after he brags about sexual assault, encourages political violence, mocks the disabled, or disparages any number of minority groups.
  • Turn back 4+ decades of abandonment of the truth and duty to the country in favor of Christian nationalism and white supremacy in the raw pursuit of power.

... Or, run Nikki Haley, Mike Pence, Mike Pompeo and Ron DeSantis (who is working overtime to fill his fascist bingo card and gaining support with GOP voters along the way) and hope for the best.

Trump's tax cuts

Here’s a dirty little secret about Trump’s tax cuts

This past week, more than 70 Republican lawmakers introduced a bill to make permanent the 2017 GOP-passed tax cuts, large chunks of which are scheduled to expire in 2025. The new bill’s lead sponsor, Rep. Vern Buchanan (Fla.), credited the original tax cuts for “historic economic growth” and promised more “prosperity” ahead if they’re extended.

The White House, among others, has repeatedly attacked the proposed Trump tax-cut extension. With pretty good reason: At precisely the same time that Republicans are raising a hue-and-cry about federal deficits, they’re proposing a measure that would massively worsen our fiscal challenges.

"Extending President Donald Trump’s individual tax cuts in full would add around $3 trillion to federal deficits over a decade, according to various estimates. As President Biden and others have pointed out, this is of a piece with other GOP-endorsed proposals that would widen deficits, such as repealing funding for the Internal Revenue Service and undoing Democrats’ prescription-drug pricing overhaul."

It's fascinating how many people believe that a new president taking office somehow magically means dramatically different tax revenue or federal spending differences.

"Congress controls the purse," as they say. The budget deficits via tax revenue collection parameters are set by the tax bill passed in 2017, and until NEW legislation, passed by a congress, and sent to the president to be signed into law, that changes those parameters, the same old system remains in place for years and years, without change when a new executive branch head (The President) is elected.

Matt Gaetz spouting China's propaganda

Matt Gaetz Called Out for Citing Chinese Propaganda in Hearing

MATT GAETZ HAS been one of the most vocal Republicans in Congress when it comes to cracking down on China. It had to be more than a little embarrassing on Tuesday, then, when the Florida congressman got called out in a House Armed Services Committee hearing for citing Chinese propaganda while trying to make a point about cutting off U.S. aid to Ukraine.

This whole article is well worth a read, as are the two video clips in it. Gaetz realizing in real time that he was just reading CCP propaganda at a congressional hearing was astounding, but so was the second part of the article, where he unknowingly brought in a murderer to give the pledge of allegiance at a hearing:

Khal wasn’t the only one who dunked on Gaetz on Tuesday. Rep. Eric Swalwell called him out for inviting Corey Beekman, a combat veteran, to lead the Pledge of Allegiance ahead of the year’s first Judiciary Committee hearing...

As Swalwell pointed out on Tuesday, Beekman is an accused murderer who wound up in a standoff with police. “That’s why there’s a trust deficit here,” Swalwell said. “You pull off a public stunt to try to own the libs, and what you did is you brought in a guy who allegedly shot two people and killed one of them. That’s where the trust deficit is.”

Gaetz apologized to the family of Billy Buchanan, whom Beekman allegedly shot and killed, in a statement to the Daily Beast earlier this month. “The family of Billy Buchanan brought the situation to my attention, and I’m glad they did,” Gaetz said, adding that the decision had some “unintended consequences.”

Is this the Matt Gaetz that was having sex with under aged girls, across state lines? Is it? Just not sure if this is the same Matt Gaetz that recently walked from all charges of having sex with under aged girls, across state lines. Yet his wing man, Joel Greenberg, is doing 12 years in federal prison for child sex trafficking and other charges. This must be a different Matt Gaetz, right?

Matt Gaetz unknowingly cites Chinese Communist newspaper during Ukraine military funding hearing

Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz cited an unusual source during a congressional hearing about US military aid to Ukraine.

Gaetz has long been an outspoken critic of continued US security assistance to Ukraine as it fends off Russia's military invasion. During Tuesday's House Armed Services Committee hearing, he brought up a report by China's Global Times that he said talks about the US training Ukrainian soldiers.

Gaetz didn't appear to know, however, that the Global Times is a Chinese Communist Party-controlled outlet with an ultranationalist agenda until the witness he was questioning pointed it out.

“Unknowingly” is doing some heavy lifting here.

Republicans will find and cite any source that meets the narrative they’re trying to push.

Matt Gaetz Shut Down By Pentagon Official For Pushing Chinese Propaganda At Hearing

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) was swiftly shut down by a Pentagon official on Tuesday after trying to introduce Chinese propaganda as a credible source during a congressional hearing.

In a House Armed Services Committee hearing, Gaetz used his time to criticize U.S. efforts to aid Ukraine’s defense against Russia’s invasion. The committee heard from several Pentagon officials, including Colin Kahl, the undersecretary of defense for policy.

I would have loved it if he answered further… “as a general matter, I don’t consider Chinese propaganda, and as a more specific matter, I would suggest that a sitting congressman entering Chinese propaganda into the federal record, raises concerns.”

Marjorie Taylor Greene wants National Divorce

Marjorie Taylor Greene Wants 'National Divorce' of Red and Blue States

Republicans and Democrats have long been known to disagree, and U.S. House Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene feels it's time the two parties parted ways.

Tension has tightened between the two political parties since the 2020 election between President Joe Biden and former president Donald Trump. Some Republicans have sided with Trump on his beliefs that the election was stolen, further dividing the parties. Others believe that Democrat policies are hurting America.

Maybe it's just me but calling for the dissolution of the United States automatically makes you anti-American.

Georgia is a blue state now, does that mean we get to throw her out?

There’s also the part where almost every red state has one blue city that basically props up and supports the rest of the red state. Georgia without Atlanta is basically Alabama. Florida without its blue counties is basically Mississippi For all the right shit on democrats, the democrat leaning cities sure do seem to important to their cities.

“A sitting congresswoman calls for secession, just months after saying she wishes she had been more successful in completing an insurrection.”

That’s the correct headline.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Shares Unhinged Details Of Her 'National Divorce' Idea

In Greene’s estimation, a so-called national divorce would not bring a civil war but would instead give states more power to govern themselves. Under this system, Greene suggested, red states could temporarily strip Americans who move from blue states of the right to vote and could implement laws to openly discriminate against LGBTQ people.

“Well, if we have a national divorce, there’s no need for the Department of Education,” she said. “Red states and blue states would be in control of the education in each state.”

“They would not allow any type of gender lies being taught in their schools, LGBTQ woke teachers would be fired and not allowed to teach there,” she continued, adding that schools in red states “would allow parents to be able to choose the curriculum.”

There isn't room in our democracy for this discussion. There cannot be any kind of clean break in the US. Blue states, red states, it's all fictional, and the truth is we are interdependent on one another, and we all live together, whether we prefer it that way or not.

"National Divorce" is a PR term for what would be a hideous civil war and many, many years of kinetic and non-kinetic conflict. Allowing this discussion to be mainstreamed would be a tragic mistake with potentially immense consequences. Don't let them shift the Overton window on this one. Push back.

Here’s something republican voters can learn from germany:

Germany was once divided into two states, a democratic one and an authoritarian one. The first thing that left the authoritarian state, was almost all of the money. That was soon followed by anyone with slightly higher education.

It was so bad that the regime eventually decided to build a wall, not to keep immigrants from coming in, but to keep citizens from getting out instead.

Those who remained got poorer and poorer, because the regime was only interested in enriching themselves.

Citizens were turned into a homogeneous mass, because in the eyes of the regime, they were all equally worthless.

After 40 years the citizens had enough and overthrew their government and rejoined the democratic state.

In a way republican voters can get everything they want, if they keep voting for republicans. But they aint gonna enjoy it as much as they think.

Marjorie Taylor Greene calls for a 'national divorce' between liberal and conservative states

The U.S. fought a civil war in the 1860s after a group of southern states tried to secede to preserve the legal enslavement of Black people.

Rep. Judy Chu hits back at Texas Republican over 'racist' remarks questioning her loyalty to U.S.

Green has been known for her controversial statements — from claims about supposed Jewish space lasers’ starting wildfires to accusations that Muslim congresswomen weren’t legitimately sworn in because they didn’t take the oath of office on the Bible. But there have been indications she has been trying to rebrand herself as someone who can bridge the divides in her party as she angles to be Donald Trump’s 2024 running mate, NBC News reported last month.

Red states would fail so hard. Red states are consistently the worst states in crime, healthcare, education and use more government assistance.

When did calling for secession become a "national divorce?"

They hate America. They love the confederacy. Getting the confederacy back is the apex of their wildest fantasies. Breaking the country apart so they can have a corporate fascist theocracy.

Over year ago:

Marjorie Taylor Greene calls for a national divorce between Republican and Democratic states

Ms Greene hails from Georgia, a state that once tried to implement a ‘national divorce’ so wealthy Georgians could keep owning Black people as slaves
