Trump is declining and getting worse

Trump’s aberrant behavior is getting worse. Why are Americans ignoring his decline?

In evaluating his public and private behavior, America’s leading mental health professionals have concluded that Donald Trump is mentally unwell, and likely a sociopath — if not a psychopath. In even more direct terms, Trump has shown himself to apparently have a diseased mind, which in turn amplifies his already corrupt morality and ethics, attraction to violence, and overall capacity for evil. Ultimately, if he were to become president again, such an outcome would be a disaster for both the United States and the world.

He said it himself. Because people will support him no matter what. Why is this even still a question?

His cult base won't budge but that's nothing new, rest of us are willing to call it out though

The dude once spelled “coffee” wrong and everyone, including him, acted like it was some sort of secret code. It’s built into his fanatical following that anything weird he does is some kind of meaningful message. It’s a useful feature of the insanity surrounding him.

Too many people’s heads are so far up their asses they’d disappear if they jumped. He is an existential threat to the US and even potentially the world. Call anyone in your personal orbit out harshly. Don’t wait until it is too late.

Donald Trump Speech Gaffe Sparks Avalanche of Jokes, Memes

Former President Donald Trump became the subject of jokes and memes after his gaffe about waging all-out war on American democracy, which he later corrected, went viral.

Trump, who has made several gaffes on the campaign trail, inadvertently made the comment as he continued his attacks on the 2020 election results during a campaign stop in Iowa on Saturday, December 2.

"In 2016, you voted to stand up to those liars, looters, losers, crooks, and creeps. You elected an outsider as your president and it was about America first.

"we've been waging an all-out war on American democracy"

He tells the truth for once and everybody calls it a gaffe.

That wasn't a gaffe. It was the entire Republican party platform.

Honestly though. What has he ever said that made u think "fuck, he's brilliant!"

Trump Backpedals, Says He Was ‘Joking’ About Dictator Calls

Donald Trump lashed out at the New York Times on Monday over coverage of his controversial comments about whether he'd be a "dictator" on the first day of his new administration if he wins next year.

At a Fox News townhall with Sean Hannity, the former president said he'd be a dictator for just one day so he could finish the border wall and drill for oil.

The comment faced a wave of condemnations, including from the White House.

The controversy followed Trump riling up his critics by promising to root out left-wing "vermin" with a second term in the White House.

Republicans turning a blind eye at every turn to clearly questionable actions, comments & willfully ignoring true criminal behavior & activity has been beyond the pale … law n order? Really?

Because who running for President doesn’t joke about becoming a dictator?

Another lie. Trump has many times in the past said he doesn’t joke.

GOP finally seeing the way of Trump

Sen. Mitt Romney Says He Would Vote For ‘Virtually’ Anybody Other Than Trump or Ramaswamy

Romney, smiling, said that he would also be "happy" to support a "number of" the Democrats who have entered the 2024 presidential race, though did not name names.

Romney has his positive points...which are outweighed by his negative points. Still, he's probably about the best you're going to get out of the treasonous, anti-American Republicans these days.

When a true conservative like Romney says you should vote for a Dem if Trump is the GOP choice, it means the death of the GOP.

That would be great if most of the Republican Party didn’t see his stance as an endorsement of their disgusting views. Modern Republicanism is a disgusting excuse for a political stance. Anyone who believes in it should be ashamed of their views, and understand that they are a weight on our societal advancement, and the shit that prevents us from making advancements as a species. Conservatism is a cancer, and people who still believe in its merits are stunted intellectually. If you’re a conservative, know that you can be better. You should be better if you care at all for our advancement as a species.

Donations to GOP drop as worries mount about the party’s finances

The Republican Party’s finances are increasingly worrisome to party members, advisers to former president Donald Trump, and other operatives involved in the 2024 election effort, according to 10 people familiar with the matter.

This is proof sanctions on Russia are working.

It’s becoming more and more obvious to long time republicans that MAGA doesn’t represent them. It’s a divide party. Why support the crazies

Republicans Trip Over Their Own Assholes Trying to Take Down Hunter Biden

If you’re a person living in the year 2023, you very likely know that Republicans have long been obsessed with the idea that the Biden family comprise a vast criminal enterprise—and that Joe Biden, as the conspiracy holds, is at the very top. They’ve desperately attempted to make this idea stick ever since Donald Trump tried and failed to get Ukraine to smear Biden and his son in exchange for military aid. Naturally, this thirst to prove that the president is a criminal mastermind—and somehow, as they claim, mentally incapacitated—has only grown since the GOP won its razor-thin majority in the House. But unsurprisingly, their push to impeach him has thus far uncovered nothing in the way of actual evidence, as Republicans in both the House and Senate will tell you. Also? Hunter Biden appears to have called them on their bluff.

Because they don't actually want to take down Hunter Biden, they just want to drag this out until the 2024 elections so they can keep using it as political ammo against his dad.

Also calling out the absurdity of the situation was Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who wrote on X: “The reason GOP don’t want a public hearing on Hunter Biden is because @OversightDems have hoisted them by their own petards in every public hearing this year. They’re scared of getting humiliated for not having an actual case (again), so they need to hide.”

Free speech doesn't get you out of consequence of your speech

Donald Trump's Lawyers Say That False Statements Are Free Speech

Former President Donald Trump had a constitutional right to make false statements about the 2020 election, his lawyers have claimed in court.

In a written submission on Wednesday, they said that the federal election interference case against Trump is based on his alleged "lies" and that lies and false statements are protected under the First Amendment of the Constitution.

That isn't the basis of the case, though. Not one charge was brought on the basis of Trump's lies. Rather, Trump was charged because he took specific actions designed to result in January 6th, knowingly and with intent.

He can lie about it all he wants. Smith is very clear about that in the original indictment. That isn't what he's being charged over.

No matter how desperately Trump wants to frame it to the contrary, his charges have nothing to do with "free speech" nor is he being "politically persecuted" as he loves to claim.

This from the man that has just sued MSNBC, Reuters and 18 other news orgs for misreporting $73 Million Truth Social Losses (remember the losses are apparently only $31m).

Trump has sued people and organisations for defamation. A real free speech warrior over here.

Guilty verdicts are free speech too.

Trump struggles to get into holiday spirit with scathing Thanksgiving post

Donald Trump appears to be struggling to get into the holiday spirit and is far from feeling thankful – that’s if his latest Truth Social rants are anything to go by.

In the early hours of Thanksgiving morning, the former president took to his social media platform to launch the latest in a growing number of attacks on the judge and court clerk in his New York civil fraud trial.

I don't understand how people can keep up with all this bullshit and negativity.

Oh look it's your annual reminder to put crazy racist grandpa at the far end of the table.

How can someone read that and say to himself "I want that guy to be the president of my country"?

Donald Trump Rages at His Enemies in Furious Thanksgiving Message

Donald Trump went after his political enemies in a Thanksgiving message posted on Truth Social on Thursday.

The frontrunner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination is facing a civil fraud trial brought against him by New York Attorney General Letitia James. The $250 million lawsuit alleges Trump and executives at his company fraudulently inflated his wealth on his financial statements, which were used to secure loans and insurance. Judge Arthur Engoron is overseeing the trial and has already ruled the defendants had committed fraud. Allison Greenfield is Engoron's law clerk.

What a soft, steaming turd of a man.

Proud to say I am his enemy!

Just remember that if he gets back into the Presidency, project 2025 will be stripping out all of the institutional guard rails so they can weaponize the entire government and intelligence apparatus against their “domestic enemies”.

They will pass laws requiring social media companies to share everything they have with the NSA, FBI, and CIA so they can identify people like you as targets for arrest, to be sent to the gigantic prison camps they’re building.

Anyone who says, “Oh but those prison camps are just going to be used to put migrant families until they’re all deported, then those prison camps will be shut down” hasn’t done much digging into every other authoritarian dictatorship throughout history.

People need to vote like their lives depend on it, because if Trump gets back in, he’s telling us there won’t be a democracy anymore.

Trump admits lying on the stand

On The Stand, Trump Admits To Adjusting Property Valuations

“Did you ever think that the values were off in your statement of financial condition?” Assistant Attorney General Kevin Wallace asked the former president.

“Yes, on occasion,” Trump responded. “Both high and low.”

The pathological liar told the truth on the stand and incriminated himself. What a world.

I'm amazed that this guy still has supporters. A LOT of them.

is it just me, or is all the "I trusted the accountants" bullshit completely blown out of the water when you point out the time line of valuations, like:

1) you signed and approved that it was worth 15 million.

2) 6 months later, you signed and approved it was worth 50 million.

3) 3 months later, you signed and approved it was worth 15 million.

4) 5 months later, you signed and approved it was worth 50 million.

Each time to their advantage. Then it is utterly impossible to claim that they "didn't know" or they "trusted accountants".

Yes, I know the liability is already determined, Trump did commit fraud is an accepted fact by him and his lawyers. But it just seems that every time any Trump utters those "I didn't know" it seems the immediate response would be to prove that they did.

“Just for the record,” Wallace replied, “you weren’t president in 2021?”

    “No, I wasn’t,” Trump acknowledged.

"Damning": Legal experts say NY AG got Trump to make "critical admission" in fraud testimony

ormer President Donald Trump appeared to confirm that the property valuations that his company submitted to banks and insurers were meant to "induce" loans from lenders while being questioned by prosecutors from the New York attorney general's office, legal experts say.

Counsel for the New York attorney general's office on Monday showed Trump a Deutsche Bank term loan agreement from the early 2010s that Trump had verified and signed. The prosecutor then asked Trump if the intentions to submit values of businesses and the properties of the Trump Organization were "in order to induce lending," Inner City Press' Matt Russell reported.

He was already found guilty though, this part of the trial is figuring out just how much money he has to pay.

I think the biggest realization from all of this is that the business deals Trump has engaged in have always been bullshit, but despite that admission, he publicly flaunts how successful he is in business. He's a dangerous sociopath.

Here's the house of cards he built in case anyone is confused:

Trump needs partners or a loan for a new project.

Banks or business partners demand evidence of total wealth and access to cash in case the deal goes south while in progress.

Trump creates dodgy assessment and financial data used as due diligence to justify the loan or partnership.

Banks or other businesses assume that Trump is telling the truth and don't demand more detail. Who would lie when the stakes are this high?

The deal is signed based on knowingly fraudulent information, Trump specifically stated that these documents have a notification that their accuracy is not guaranteed.

Trump uses these business deals to build more legitimacy, and uses that as a reference for future deals.

Trumpist Mike Johnson ladies and gentlemen

New House Speaker Blamed School Shootings on Teaching Evolution and Abortion

NEWLY ELECTED HOUSE Speaker Mike Johnson is a hardcore Christian nationalist who has a history of spouting extreme right-wing views — including on mass shootings. The Louisiana Republican’s record on guns has come under scrutiny in the wake of a shooter killing at least 18 people in Maine on Wednesday, and in addition to opposing gun control legislation, the man who is now second in line for the presidency has blamed mass shootings on both teaching evolution and abortion.

Vile and ignorant. Frighteningly depraved people believe there must be a deity to deal out rewards and punishments in order for there to be "right and wrong."

EMPATHY doesn't come from religion and is vacant in right-wing policies.

If you only choose not to murder people because you believe an invisible sky daddy will send you to eternal fires, then you are a terrible person. As an atheist, this line of argument from Christians pisses me off. I do not kill people because I KNOW that killing another person is simply wrong. Lacking belief in a deity puts me in the position of knowing that another sentient life is the highest form that I encounter, therefore, the impact I leave on other humans matters. I don't commit murder, rape, theft, etc. because they're wrong and have horrible impacts on other people. I don't need the threat of potential punishment to be the reason why I don't do these things. If that is all that's stopping him, then we should be terrified of people like him.

Then again, most horrible acts of violence are committed by people of faith.

‘I’ve prayed for each of you': How Mike Johnson led a campaign of election denial

One day before a mob bludgeoned its way into the Capitol, Rep. Mike Johnson huddled with colleagues in a closed-door meeting about Congress’ task on Jan. 6, 2021.

A relatively junior House Republican at the time, Johnson was nevertheless the leading voice in support of a fateful position: that the GOP should rally around Donald Trump and object to counting electoral votes submitted by at least a handful of states won by Joe Biden.

Is it just me, or when someone says “I’ll pray for you.” Is that not the most condescending shit you’ve ever heard?

Like they say “ ain’t no hate like Christian love”

Johnson is one of those types that truly believes every single thing that happens in his life is ordained by God and part of some grand plan. Someone like Jordan you can tell it is at least in their mantra, even if they don't profess it on a daily basis.

But this philosophy is so engrained with him that he invokes it publicly in virtually everything he does. He is gone in his own beliefs.

“I believe that Scripture, the Bible, is very clear: that God is the one who raises up those in authority,” Johnson said in his first speech after being elected speaker in a 220-209 vote. “He raised up each of you. All of us.”

He said this in 2022:

“The founders wanted to protect the church from an encroaching state, not the other way around,”

When he was actively trying to overturn the election, he based it on "God's discernment." I could go on for pages of alarming examples.

All of this has largely gone under the radar for the past several years, and that needs to end.

Reporters need to ask him every. single. day. why he led the efforts into the objection of electors on the morning of Jan. 7, and why he led efforts to support the Texas lawsuit and amicus brief.

Why did he tirelessly try to disenfranchise 81,000,000 voters, protect a serial criminal and sexual abuser, and end Democracy in America?

Let him give all the divine evangelical justifications he wants. But keep asking him over and over again.

Trumpist Mike Johnson is the US House speaker. There’s plenty to fear

It’s Mike Johnson of Louisiana who, as one example of his profound unsuitability, brags that he doesn’t believe that human beings cause the climate crisis, though his home state has been ravaged by it. He is against abortion, voted against aid to Ukraine and stridently opposes LGBTQ+ rights.

Perhaps most notably, Johnson had a leading role in trying to overturn he 2020 election.

That means that the official second in line to the presidency “violated his oath to the constitution and tried to disenfranchise four states”, as the writer Marcy Wheeler neatly put it.

So abortion is so serious because this guy says we don't have enough people to work in our economy, but then he says we have a "border crisis" where people are coming here to work and they're stealing our jobs

Which is it?

DeSantis plunder continues

‘That decision cost lives’: Covid data case further deflates Ron DeSantis’s campaign

A courtroom settlement over withheld Covid-19 data that critics say cost thousands of lives has deflated Ron DeSantis’s campaign trail persona as a courageous freedom warrior who kept his state open during a deadly peak of the pandemic.

It comes at a pivotal time for the Florida governor, whose teetering run for the Republican presidential nomination is mired in financial difficulties and collapsing poll numbers in early primary states.

State Surgeon General of Florida should be charged for altering covid reports that cause hundreds of preventable deaths.

https://www.politico.com/news/2023/04/24/florida-surgeon-general-covid-vaccine-00093510

Remember that this man was appointed to his position solely because he didn’t think people should do anything to prevent getting COVID.

And he refused to wear a mask when a state lawmaker he was meeting with asked him to due to the fact that she had breast cancer... and people with cancer have a significantly higher risk of getting seriously ill from covid.

Data supports it, more unvaccinated (Republicans?) died and continue to die from COVID every year. We have seen more COVID than flu cases this season. And the only ones that end up dying are the unvaccinated ones that refused to get the first round.

We're not even surprised anymore, just kind of shake our heads and find a room in the corner they can die in. Been lucky enough to get a few home with hospice. That opens their rooms for real patients who need to get better.

Conservative caused about 300k extra dead Americans through their support of the pandemic. They should be in jail.

It really is worse than that.

Trump and his team saw that COVID was going to hit the cities first...and hard.

They were hoping to have 20 million less Democrats to deny voting rights to.

Unfortunately for them, red area rates of sickness and death are FAR higher due to COVID after the first few months of the pandemic. It took a while for the bug to get out to rural America...but while urbanites masked up and distanced and washed hands, the red meat MAGA crowd had COVID PARTIES.

MAGA is too stupid to live...Evolution is going to eventually take its course.

Deranged Donald is Doxxing and admitting Obama was born in US

Trump Shares Article Doxxing NY AG’s Address, May Violate Gag Order

Donald Trump shared a Substack article from far-right political activist and internet personality Laura Loomer on Truth Social Monday night that lobbed unverified accusations at New York Attorney General Letitia James, asserting that there was a connection between James and “Christian J. French, The Trump hating COO and heir to the Anti-Trump ‘Regional News Network.’” According to Meidas Touch, Loomer posted a New York City Buildings violation document and a loan modification form that listed what appears to be James’ home address in Brooklyn. This may violate Judge Arthur Engoron’s gag order, which prohibits Trump from attacking court staffers involved in his New York financial fraud case. While James is not a staffer, she is central to the indictment. James has been the target of Trump’s swipes before, mentioning in August that she received death threats during her prosecution against the former president.

It’s amazing how Trump’s right to terrorize anyone in his way outweighs the safety of every other person on the planet, time after time.

“Okay, we could lock him up.. or we could pay for 24/7 police presence to protect her from the supporters he riled up to harm her… let’s go with the protection detail. Somebody might get offended if we treat him like a criminal.”

In what possible way is this anything other than a call to assassinate James?

Didn't he JUST pull this bullshit with Obama's address, and some idiot with a gun got arrested driving around his neighborhood while livestreaming or some shit?

July 6, 2023 After Trump posted what he said was Obama’s address, an armed man was arrested there, prosecutors say

Look, just like everyone else I've been fed up with Trump doing stupid illegal shit and getting away with it. Being president for most of that time afforded him a shield that he wouldn't have had otherwise, granted. But of course we're all tired of it.

But he's never done anything quite like this before. The other shit was heinous and illegal and flagrant, yes (and some of it he's on trial for), but when you go after the AG... the AG has the power to fucking end you.

Maybe if he were the President of the USA still he could maybe get away with it in some way, but as an average citizen? No. Doxxing the AG as a private citizen after being told not to by a court of law is not like any other crime he's committed... and he's going to regret it.

Trump’s New Conspiracy Theory: Obama Is Still President

Donald Trump is a man who knows the value of playing the hits. Sometimes that means spinning “Y.M.C.A.” and other Village People songs during his DJ sets at Mar-a-Lago. Other times he shows his respect for the classics less literally, as when he uses the slogan “Make America Great Again, Again,” dresses like it’s still the ’80s, and keeps repeating the unhinged conspiracy theories that got him where he is today.

To Trump’s credit, he has recognized that questioning whether Barack Obama was really born in the United States won’t get the base going the way it did over a decade ago. Instead, he has found a fresher way to stoke MAGA voters’ Obama-related fears: claiming the two-term former president still actively controls the White House.

Conspiracy theory or did his addled brain forget Obama isn’t in office. I mean didn’t he say once that he beat Obama in an election? And didn’t he also confuse Obama and Biden whilst saying one or the other is leading us to world war 2? I don’t think he’s conspiracy theory crazy, I think he’s nursing home crazy.

There's something about Obama that drives conservatives crazy... I just can't put my finger on it...

Coincident in Trump family?

Trump’s Secret Documents Case Just Got Worse For Him

Ever since investigators pulled a pile of sensitive government documents out of former President Donald Trump’s infamously chandeliered bathroom, a question has loomed over the resulting criminal case: Why on Earth did Trump want those documents, anyway?

Now, prosecutors claim they have the answer. They haven’t publicly explained what it is. But they say they’re confident they can prove it in court.

And what's going to be really funny is when Jack Smith simply plays a video of Trump explaining exactly why he kept the documents.

Anybody who thinks that's not what's going to happen has been living under a rock since 2015.

The new court filing also says "But the fact is that the great majority of the allegations in the indictment—including allegations of the defendants’ conduct, knowledge, and intent—turn on evidence contained in the unclassified discovery, not the much smaller set of classified discovery."

The indictment includes several mentions of "did corruptly conceal a record, document, and other object, and attempted to do so, with the intent to impair the object's integrity and availability for use in an official proceeding [the grand jury]..."

A simple reading of the new court filing is that it states that they can prove that "Trump intended [to retain] them" to prevent a grand jury from indicting him for possessing and not returning classified documents.

It's jumping the gun to infer from the new court filing that Jack Smith knows why Trump took and kept them in the first place.

In other words, they can prove his intent to obstruct, not necessarily his intent with the documents.

Eric Trump Suddenly Quadrupled Property Value, Accountant Says

Eric Trump, the second eldest son of former President Donald Trump and the executive vice president of the Trump Organization, was behind the quadrupling of a Trump property in New York's value, according to the company's former accountant.

During his testimony in the $250 million civil fraud trial, former Trump Organization Comptroller Jeffrey McConney said that Eric was responsible for the jump in the value of the Seven Springs development in Westchester County, New York, testifying that it was after a phone conversation with the executive that a section of the estate went up in value from $25 million to $101 million.

Why is he still in the Congress then?

Matt Gaetz Succeeds Ted Cruz as the Most Hated Man in Congress

Florida U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz is the most hated man in Congress right now.

He's ousted the speaker against the wishes of the vast majority of his party in the House. They are steamed, to put it mildly. During the debate on the House floor, Gaetz looked like a hyper sadist. The detestation toward him was immensely powerful and palpable. And through his histrionics, he's also supplanted the formerly most hated man in Congress.

That would be Texas Senator Ted Cruz.

motherfucker looks like both Beavis and Butthead at the same time

You gotta give him some props, though.

The only work he accomplished since being elected, is becoming more hated than CanCruz.

That takes effort and dedication.

Matt Gaetz is getting Cawthorned.

Cruz is just a smarmy slimy piece of shit where Gaetz is a groomer smarmy slimy piece of shit. I can kinda see it

GOP Senator Drops NSFW Claims About Matt Gaetz In Wild CNN Interview

Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.) accused Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) of openly detailing his sexual experiences to fellow lawmakers in a bonkers interview with CNN on Wednesday. (You can check out his comments in the clip below.)

“He bragged about how he would crush E.D. medicine and chase it with energy drinks so he could go all night. This is obviously before he got married,” Mullin told CNN’s Manu Raju.

Ok, anyone else find it odd that NOW certain GOP’ers care about Gaetz’s alleged conduct? Suddenly, it matters to them after ignoring it for so long?

Imagine if Dems went around showing videos of sexual exploits on the house floor … nope. Best I can do is a video of AOC dancing, oh the outrage!

These fuckers with their phoney ethics and feigned patriotism. America deserves better.

And also from Huffpost:

Former Mike Pence Aide (Marc Short ) Claims Matt Gaetz Likely Came To D.C. 'For The Teenage Interns'

Marc Short told CNN that Gaetz wasn't motivated by public service. "it’s more likely he came here for the teenage interns on Capitol Hill, to be honest.”

Deranged P01135809 Trump wants to execute people 2

Trump Calls For People To Be 'Shot' If They Rob Stores In Terrifying Remarks

“We will immediately stop all of the pillaging and theft. Very simply: If you rob a store, you can fully expect to be shot as you are leaving that store,” he said, drawing loud applause. “Shot!” he added for emphasis.

What if hey steal classified documents or try to overturn a democratic election?

If stealing food is a capital offense, what about tax fraud? Charity fraud? Education fraud? Election fraud? Insurance fraud? Contract fraud?

In republican America, the penalty for every crime committed by a not republican is punishable by death. Crime is legal for republicans.

2024 polls: Majority of voters say Trump should be disqualified

Fifty-one per cent said that Mr Trump is prevented from running under the 14th Amendment because he was part of an insurrection following the 2020 election.

Before the survey respondents were asked about disqualifying Mr Trump, they were asked a number of questions concerning the Constitution and Mr Trump’s behaviour after the last presidential election.

We need a betting pool on which (if any) state chief elections officer becomes the first to deem trump ineligible for his state's printed ballot.

If any other person came into the race and was found to be a rapist, bigot and is currently facing 91 felony counts there would be no way in hell they would be let to run. But because it's daddy trumpy he's given a shot. How, HOW can this be overlooked by so many.

The fact that there's even a single percent that says otherwise is a massive failure of civilization.

And that's just for his immediate and perpetual disqualification from holding any sort of public office.

Donald Trump should be fully held to account for all his numerous misdeeds and receive the penalties thereof in full. Just imagine what would have happened to you if you had done but a fraction of all the heinous shit that he's been up to over the past fifty years.

It has nothing to do with 1984 or whatever else the extreme right shartmongers would have you believe. It has to do with the fact that Trump and most of his immediate family are traitorous criminals who belong behind bars, far removed from society and any means to affect it. Permanently.

Deranged P01135809 Trump wants to execute people

Trump Goes Full Deranged, Suggests Charging People He Doesn’t Like With Treason

Donald Trump went over the edge over the weekend and began calling for his detractors to be prosecuted or even put to death.

“They are almost all dishonest and corrupt, but Comcast, with its one-side and vicious coverage by NBC NEWS, and in particular MSNBC, often and correctly referred to as MSDNC (Democrat National Committee!), should be investigated for its ‘Country Threatening Treason,’” he wrote on Truth Social Sunday night.

His entire platform is ‘Revenge’. Has no plan to fix problems, just to bully anyone and everyone not for him into submission; or death.

And 1/3 of the voting public is fine with it and the GOP will not complain.

The founders purposely defined treason because people like Trump existed throughout time.

Treason has been the excuse of all tyrants to attack anyone who goes against their wishes. Trump just proves again why he is a Tyrant to be shunned.

If you still are supporting this monster, don't claim to be anything other then a fascist. No, you aren't a conservative. No you aren't wanting a return to an "old america".

Nothing in the annals of American history compares to rounding up everyone you don't like and charging them with treason with zero evidence other then "they didn't support me". Not even the height of the crimes committed during WW2 against asian americans compares.

I don't want to hear any more about "middle of the road" american who just want everyone to get along.

This guy is threatening this country with transformation into something resembling North Korea, and people are cheering him on ... still.

This is terrifying, of course, but also really sad.

I’m imagining asking Trump supporters if this is the nation they want, a singular dictator lashing out in personal vendettas and self-enriching instead of doing the work of the executive branch and upholding the constitution.

From everything I’ve seen, the answer is far too often yes. I don’t even know how to conceptualize what might be happening in their minds that they will so easily forfeit their hard-won republic.

And it is quite possible that it comes to pass. A single candidate can be defeated, but this is at least a third of our population cheering for the demise of representative democracy. To end The United States, as it were.

Even as I type this, I can hear the canned responses spattered through angry goatees. Freedom. Liberty. Restore, reclaim, take it back, stolen, rigged, all that. Not even addressing the original question. Is this how you pictured a more perfect union? Do you really consider the majority of voters in the country to be your enemy?

It’s just hard to understand when you’re not in the groupthink. It sounds insane, unhinged, malicious, spiteful. Like someone has convinced them to engage in willful self-destruction but also that it was their own idea.

Trump Floats the Idea of Executing Joint Chiefs Chairman Milley

That extraordinary sentence would be unthinkable in any other rich democracy. But Donald Trump, on his social-media network, Truth Social, wrote that Mark Milley’s phone call to reassure China in the aftermath of the storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021, was “an act so egregious that, in times gone by, the punishment would have been DEATH.” (The phone call was, in fact, explicitly authorized by Trump-administration officials.) Trump’s threats against Milley came after The Atlantic’s publication of a profile of Milley, by this magazine’s editor in chief Jeffrey Goldberg, who detailed the ways in which Milley attempted to protect the Constitution from Trump.

If I said this about Trump I’d be arrested. He should be in jail, silently awaiting trials. Letting him get away with this is going to destroy us.

When Trump is heedlessly breaking laws and spouting treason, the paradoxical message is that if he ruled the way he wants to HE would not put up with this shit. He uses himself as both the model of the problem and the solution.

His implicit message is is that democracy is a failed form of government and a fascist tyranny is the 'way'.

What happened: The former president, wearing a dark blue suit and red tie, arrived at the Fulton County jail at around 7:30 p.m. ET. After he surrendered, he was placed under arrest and booked on more than a dozen charges. Jail records listed him at 6 foot 3 inches tall and weighing 215 pounds, with blue eyes and blond or strawberry hair. His booking number was P01135809. A mug shot was also taken.

GOP getting in a brink of destruction

Marjorie Taylor Greene calls for GOP ‘civil war’ after midterms failure

Marjorie Taylor Greene says she is ready unleash a civil war in the Republican Party after its poor showing in the midterms.

The Georgia congresswoman also indicated she would throw her support behind House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy in an interview with Steve Bannon’s War Room podcast.

Here is my seven point response plan:

  1.  Inspect the Jiffy Pop pan - Folks have discovered that if any part of the package has dents or imperfections they can lead to problems down the line. So be careful when you purchase Jiffy Pop that you find the ones with pristine packaging and treat them gently until you're ready to start popping.
  2.  Carefully remove the cardboard cover - Be sure not to damage the foil covering underneath it. If you puncture the foil it will not rise properly during popping, drastically impacting the results.
  3.  Preheat your burner to a medium heat - If you are using an electric stove be sure to preheat the burner for 3-4 minites so it is at temperature when you put the Jiffy Pop pan on to pop.
  4.  Place the pan on the burner - Let the pan set still for a minute or two while the butter and/or oil that is inside comes up to temperature. Once you here a sizzling sound it's time to move on to the next step.
  5.  Shake the pan in a circular motion - For satisfactory results you need to continuously and rapidly shake the pan in a clock-wise motion until the end of the popping cycle. I didn't say this would be easy! As the popcorn pops the foil will expand into a large silver ball.
  6.  Remove the pan from the stove - Once the foil is completely expanded and the popping has slowed down it's time to take the pan off of the heat. Don't try to get the last few kernels to pop because you'll end up burning the popcorn at the bottom of the pan.
  7.  Puncture the big foil ball with shape knife - Be careful when you do this since steam will come streaming out which could seriously burn your face or hands. Make several more cuts opening the top, turning the pan and foil into a bowl. You're now ready to enjoy a real "retro" treat.

14th amendment her and other Republicans. Now! Demand it.

We've done it before let's do it again!

Former President Donald Trump is calling up Republican allies and encouraging them to blame Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell for lackluster midterm results, a CNN report said.

After the Republican "red wave" failed to materialize and Democrats managed to hold control of the Senate, many in the party have directly blamed the former president.

The GOP had a larger majority in both the House and the Senate but still got less done in the first two years under Trump than Biden. The only possible exception is getting two SCOTUS justices instead of just one.

The GOP Congress probably could've gotten a lot more done but Trump's unpredictability and lack of focus made it practically impossible.

The GOP don't really get anything done per se. They like getting things done that will benefit THEM, and not the people. They do what their corporate overlords want so that they will continue to give them more money. They honestly don't care about helping the people. Democrats have done WAY MORE to help the people than Republicans ever have. NEED to get rid of corporate money in politics. The politicians are supposed to work for the people who vote them in.....NOT for big corporations. But that is where their loyalty lies.

On Monday every republican talked about how Trump was the Messiah. In the last few days it’s “No one pays attention to Trump.”

If you don’t think most of the right wing posts on social media are coordinated disinformation effort with a national strategy, then you have not been paying attention.

Donald Full-on Nazi Trump

Donald Trump's Ominous Warning to U.S. Jews Sparks Horror: 'Full-on Nazi'

Former President Donald Trump sparked a backlash after blaming "liberal Jews" for voting to "destroy America and Israel" while wishing them a happy new year.

"Just a quick reminder for liberal Jews who voted to destroy America & Israel because you believed false narratives!" Trump posted on Truth Social on Sunday during Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year and the start of the faith's High Holy Days.

"Let's hope you learned from your mistake & make better choices moving forward! Happy New Year."

Nazis are marching in Florida and elsewhere. And the leader of the Republican party thinks this is the perfect time to go full anti-Semite. If only those Nazis - and the rest of his base - understood that he hates everybody. Including them. Well, especially them.

The guy who kept a book of Hitler's speeches on his nightstand?

I'm gobsmacked.

Ya boy has a definite Hitler predilection :)

The GOP has gone full Nazi: book burnings, demonizing LGBTQ, anti-semitism, strongman worship. Make no mistake, if you are republican in the 2020's, you are on the wrong side of history

GOP is POS

Republican hardliners threaten US government shut down unless Biden slashes FBI spending

Republican hardliners are threatening to shut down the US government at the end of the month unless Joe Biden slashes spending on the FBI.

They are also demanding an end to “woke policies” at the defence department, including a raft of “diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives”.

Marjorie Taylor Greene, the Republican firebrand, has also demanded an impeachment inquiry into the US president, and for funding to be withdrawn from Jack Smith, the special prosecutor who has brought 44 of 91 criminal charges against Donald Trump.

All because they're upset that their leader, a criminal, is being prosecuted for his crimes.

Apparently they don't "back the blue" so much anymore.

GOP Sen. Ron Johnson Parrots Misinformation That ‘Windmills Are Killing the Whales’

DURING A SUNDAY appearance on Fox News, Sen. Ron Johnson alleged that ocean “windmills… are killing the whales,” but this is nothing more than misinformation that expert scientists and the government have repeatedly rebuked.

While discussing climate change on Fox’s Sunday Morning Futures, Johnson said, “All this climate alarmism is based on bad science… Again, the climate has always changed, always will. I’m not an alarmist, and I’m not in denial. These windmills, according to an earlier report on your network, are killing the whales.”

They also don’t even give a shit about whales even if it were true, it’s whatever to oppose clean energy.

This talking point has been all over the right wing ecosystem lately, along with “wind turbines kill millions of the birds!!!” My right wing family members have been parroting this constantly as an excuse to oppose green energy

Since when did the GOP even care about wildlife?

GOP threat to impeach a Wisconsin Supreme Court justice is driven by fear of losing legislative edge

Wisconsin Republicans have enjoyed outsize control of the Legislature in one of the most closely divided states for a dozen years. Maintaining that power is now at the heart of a drama involving the state Supreme Court that has national political implications.

A new liberal tilt to the court is driving Republican fears of losing their large legislative majorities, which were built under some of the most gerrymandered political maps in the country. Republicans have threatened to impeach the justice who was elected earlier this year and flipped the court to a 4-3 liberal majority, unless she withdraws from any case involving redistricting. The GOP is citing concerns about her campaign statements and fundraising.

Every thing the GOP does is fueled by fear. Thats what defines a conservative — fear of change.

I would say this might result in a voter backlash, but I’m sure GOP voters are probably totally fine with this fascist move.

Wisconsin is the poster child for minority rule through gerrymandering and now that it might be threatened, the GOP will try to impeach a judge before they rule on even one case, subverting the will of the voters in a free and fair election.

Republicans among other things are cowards. They can never win in fair fights so they have to lie steal and cheat.

Trumps downfall

Donald Trump Loudly Booed and Cheered by Iowa Football Crowd

Donald Trump was met with boos and cheers at Iowa State University's annual football grudge match against the University of Iowa.

The former president watched the game in Ames with casino magnate Gary Kirke, an influential Republican donor, in a private stadium suite before leaving during the third quarter.

Trump, who continues to lead the crowded Republican field for the 2024 nomination in Iowa and nationally despite being under indictment for more than 90 felony counts, faced loud boos and some cheers when he stepped out of the suite, according to videos posted on social media.

He shouldn’t be allowed to show his face in public without being heckled.

Turntables something something

Disney sues DeSantis for damages after he asks them to drop suit

Disney has filed a counterclaim seeking damages against Florida Governor Ron DeSantis just days after the presidential hopeful said the two feuding parties have “moved on” from the dispute.

Disney has accused the board of supervisors picked by DeSantis to oversee Walt Disney World’s special tax district of breaching contracts, according to Thursday’s 55-page court filing in response to Florida’s recent lawsuit against the media titan.

For a guy who was a lawyer, DeSantis really sucks at it.

For a guy who is a governor, he really sucks at it.

For a guy who will never be president, he sucks at it from a distance.

For a guy who is a human, he really sucks at it.

Hold your horses. Are we sure he’s human?

Let's see a strong principles of the GOP is fiscal conservative values...I wonder how Ronnie DeSantis measures up on that?

Basic value of fiscal conservatives are support for lower taxes (Ron raised taxes on Disney)...Small government (Ron used the government to deliberately punish and interfere with Disney)... and deregulation of corporations (again Ron applied MORE regulations to Disney).

Seems like Ron is really bad at a major component of being in the GOP.

Picking a fight for political reasons then asking them to back down is the biggest pussy move I've ever seen. What a cowardly turd that guy is.

DeSantis seems to think he can just "dictate" something & then "move on". It doesn't work that way asshole. You started this fight & now Disney wants to finish it. I don't usually side with the greedy corporation but, go Disney!!!

Finally Some sense in Trumplandia

Majority Says They ‘Definitely’ Will Not Support Trump in 2024: Poll

Amajority of Americans say they will "definitely not" support former President Donald Trump if he becomes the Republican presidential nominee, according to a new poll out Wednesday.

Overall, 53% of respondents in the Associated Press/NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll said they would definitely not support the former president if he is the GOP nominee, while another 11% said they would "probably not" support him.

Those numbers come as just 63% of Republicans respondents said they wanted Trump to run for another term.

The fact that anyone is supporting him is what’s frightening.

The base is actually more terrifying than Trump. He's just the manifestation of what the GOP base has become. And when Trump is out of the picture (in jail, dead, whatever) the base will still be there, ready to back Trump v2.0

Since the moment he was “elected” in 2016, Donald Trump has steadily lost supporters. There are still a lot of dupes who support him, but there are fewer today than there were in 2020.

A Republican saying they won’t vote for Trump… ha, I’ll believe it when I see it. At the end of the day they’ll all fall in line and vote for whoever has the R next to their name.

Trump lawyers negotiating with Fulton County DA over details of surrender, sources say

Lawyers for former President Donald Trump are in “ongoing negotiations” with the Fulton County District attorney’s office regarding details of his surrender, two sources familiar with the talks tell CNN.

As of now, they have not yet landed on a date for when Trump will surrender, the sources said.

Early indications from Trump’s team are that they are discussing a potential surrender date for next week, though the talks are ongoing. Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, a Democrat, gave Trump and his 18 co-defendants until August 25 at noon to voluntarily surrender.

I want him fingerprinted and a DNA sample taken so we can run it through the cold case databases.

I'd prefer they drag him from his home so he can feel what the cops felt on January 6, 2021.

What's to negotiate? Show up by noon on 25 August or have a warrant issued for your immediate arrest and extradition from whatever state you're currently grifting in, you atrocious cockwomble.

“When you see these thugs being thrown into the back of a paddy wagon, you just seen them thrown in, rough. I said, ‘Please don’t be too nice,’ When you guys put somebody in the car and you’re protecting their head you know, the way you put their hand over [their head]," Trump continued, mimicking the motion. "Like, 'Don’t hit their head and they’ve just killed somebody, don’t hit their head.' I said, 'You can take the hand away, OK?' "I have to tell you, you know, the laws are so horrendously stacked against us, because for years and years, they've been made to protect the criminal. Totally made to protect the criminal. Not the officers. You do something wrong, you're in more jeopardy than they are,

"I can tell you, I saw some photos where [acting ICE Director] Tom [Homan]'s guys, rough guys, they're rough, I don't want to ... say it because they'll say that's not politically correct, you're not allowed to have rough people doing this kind of work. ... Just like they don't want to have rich people at the head of treasury,"

DeSantis's run for Presidency is costly voters of Florida

DeSantis’ retaliation against Disney hurts Florida, former governors and lawmakers say

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Saying Gov. Ron DeSantis has followed the autocratic examples of governments in Russia and China, a group of mostly Republican former high-level government officials has called the Florida governor’s takeover of Disney World’s governing district “severely damaging to the political, social, and economic fabric of the State.”

DeSantis shoots Florida in the foot. Former governors remark that this is detrimental to Florida. DeSantis doubles down and shoots Florida in the nuts.

The whole Disney fiasco is clearly going to work against DeSantis in the longer run.

It might have given him a short term boost with his right wing base.

But it has shown moderates and independents - who are still very important in major elections - that he has demagogue tendencies. Just like Trump.

Why he ever thought it was a good idea is beyond my comprehension.

Going after one of the biggest employers in your state was a self serving political move and did nothing but harm to Florida. Will you do the same to our country if you're elected?

He is the American version of Viktor Orban, the poster child for soft fascism. It might be worthwhile noting that Hungary would be an impoverished corrupt cesspool with out the EU.

Erdogan in Turku is another example of soft fascism, he’s even more autocratic than Orban is.

What's a ball park figure of the revenue Disney contributes to Florida's economy?

All revenue?

And what's a ball park figure if that revenue was removed from the Floridian coffers?

Disney’s economic impact to central Florida is in the billions, likely even the 10s of billions each year. https://www.nbcnews.com/meet-the-press/data-download/enormous-numbers-desantis-fight-disney-rcna81019

DeSantis’ ‘anti-woke’ bills are costing Florida millions of dollars in business

A slew of new bills signed into law by Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has draped the Sunshine State in controversy, spurring protests, lawsuits and travel advisories warning the state is “openly hostile” toward people of color, immigrants, women and LGBTQ+ community members.

The fallout is starting to spread to a key economic artery for an income-tax-free state heavily reliant upon tourism taxes: Florida’s convention business.

In recent weeks, at least a dozen organizations have announced plans to either cancel or relocate their upcoming conferences scheduled to take place in Florida, making a statement by having their thousands of attendees and millions of dollars flow into other states deemed safer and more welcoming.

DeSantis is not only costing Florida tourist dollars, but also costing Floridians in many other ways.

As a corporate and industry friendly politician, insurance premiums have soared 206% since he became governor and, on average, Florida homeowners pay over $4,200 per year for home insurance (triple the national average of $1,700 according to data from the Insurance Information Institute).

https://www.newsweek.com/florida-insurance-premiums-rose-206-percent-desantis-governor-1812740

Not to mention he is costing Florida taxpayers millions of dollars with his "anti-woke" agenda (i.e. flying migrants out of Florida, lawsuits, etc).

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/may/03/ron-desantis-insurance-industry-donors-florida-governor

https://reason.com/2023/02/06/ron-desantis-wants-12-million-to-transport-migrants-from-any-point-in-the-u-s/

And for what exactly?

For a politician on the national stage and trying to create a national profile while running for president, there is very little discussion about his actual governance.

The statistics of Florida's social and economic well-being reveals that Florida falls short in almost any measure that matters to the lives of its citizens and that Florida is toward the bottom of state rankings which assess the quality of education, health care, and many other areas which are key to a successful society.

https://time.com/6266618/ron-desantis-florida-governance-essay/

Some points taken from the above link...

  • An investigation by the Orlando Sentinel revealed the startling fact that 99% of Florida’s companies paid no corporate income tax, abetted by tax-avoidance schemes and state officials who gave a low priority to enforcing tax laws.
  • A study by the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy found that Florida had the third least-equitable tax system of the 50 states. In the state’s “upside-down” tax structure, the poorest 20% of Florida families paid 12.7% of their income in taxes, while the families whose income was in the top 4% paid 4.5%, and the top 1% paid 2.3%, according to the study.
  • The Commonwealth Fund, a private foundation that studies health-care systems globally, found in its 2022 “scorecard” that Florida had the 16th worst health care among the 50 states. It’s no wonder that Florida ranks below the northern blue states in life expectancy and rates of cancer death, diabetes, fatal overdoses, teen birth rates, and infant mortality.
  • Because of DeSantis’s obstinacy, Florida is one of 10 states that have refused to expand Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act, an act of political spite that has cost those states billions in federal health care dollars and cost thousands of people their lives. More than 12% of Floridians are without medical insurance, a worse record than all but four other states.
  • Despite having the country’s highest percentage of retirees, Florida has the worst long-term care among the 50 states, according to the American Association of Retired Persons.
  • Public schools fare no better than health care in DeSantis’s Florida. Not only did Florida rank 49th in the country for average teacher pay in 2020, but the Education Law Center, a non-profit advocacy group based in New Jersey, found in a 2021 report that the state had the seventh-lowest per-pupil funding in the country. Education Week, which ranks states public school annually, looking beyond mere test scores, placed Florida 23rd in its 2021 report.

DeSantis keeps thumbling down

Ron DeSantis Invites Nation’s First Black VP to Florida for Roundtable Discussion on the Upsides of Being Enslaved

Remember when Ron DeSantis’s board of education announced last month that new state standards would require schools to teach students that there were some benefits to being enslaved? And the Florida governor was blasted for it, not only by the “The Left,” but by fellow Republicans too? Because the idea of forcing teachers to tell kids that there were some silver linings to being human property is, to quote former GOP congressman Will Hurd, “insane”?

You might have thought that, given the bipartisan blowback, DeSantis would not be eager to keep this particular story in the news. But surprise! He apparently does, and his plan to keep people talking about it was to troll-invite Kamala Harris, the nation’s first Black vice president, to Florida for an “honest dialogue” about why it isn’t nuts to require school curricula to include a section on slavery not being all bad.

I don’t see why we need a “slavery was good” vs “slavery was bad” debate. For the same reason you don’t debate flat earth. It’s immoral to even position these arguments as debatable.

Seriously, what right wing issue-generator dart board did this whole topic spring up from?

The GOP gets their talking points through Russia, Saudi Arabia, China, Hungary and other fascist, anti-democracy, anti-multiracial society dictatorships.

In Hungary in 2010, Viktor Orban ran in a platform of ‘build the wall’ and ‘make Hungary great again’. Donald Trump literally just copied Orban’s campaign, and now the GOP is a full blown fascist party.

I'm being serious: Is this guy stupid?

DeSantis is speed running a mission of "how to blow up your campaign."

He does know that he's going to need more than just the white people who agree with him to win correct?

Harris rejects DeSantis’ offer to debate Florida’s new Black history standards

Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday rejected Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ offer to debate the state’s recent guidelines on teaching the African American experience, calling him part of a group of “extremist, so-called leaders” trying to rewrite the “ugly parts of history.”

“They attempt to legitimize these unnecessary debates with a proposal that most recently came in of a politically motivated roundtable,” Harris said in her afternoon speech at the 20th Women’s Missionary Society of the African Methodist Episcopal Church Quadrennial Convention in Orlando. “Well, I’m here in Florida, and I will tell you there is no roundtable, no lecture, no invitation we will accept to debate an undeniable fact. There were no redeeming qualities of slavery.”

DeSantis is a torturer, human trafficker, and slavery apologist who can't get any traction running against a rapist with two impeachments and three felony indictments in his jacket. He doesn't deserve to be on the same stage as Harris.

At this rate, I won't be surprised if DeSantis advocates for the reinstatement of slavery in Florida.

To debate him implies this is debatable. Good for her for not taking the bait.

What's funny is he wants to debate a Democrat instead of his fellow Republicans when he's running for the GOP nomination first.

Harris says she won't debate DeSantis on new Black history standards in Florida

Vice President Harris publicly rejected the invitation from Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to debate the new standards of Black history education in the state, which say that enslaved people could have benefited from slavery.

In Orlando at a convention for the African Methodist Episcopal Women's Missionary Society, Harris attacked "extremists" for passing laws that restrict abortion and the right to vote, and said now they "attempt to erase and even rewrite the ugly parts of our history."

Without mentioning DeSantis' name, Harris said Tuesday that the invite for a roundtable on the topic was an "attempt to legitimize these unnecessary debates" about slavery.

Of course not. There's nothing to debate. There were no benefits to being enslaved.

DeSantis plunder days

DeSantis Caught Using Taxpayer-Funded State Vehicles to Campaign

A car crash in Tennessee earlier this week revealed that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has been using state government vehicles for his 2024 presidential campaign, the Sun Sentinel reported. If it hadn’t been for the crash, though, nobody would even know he was doing so. That’s thanks to DeSantis’ own state legislature, which passed a recent law that shields the governor’s travel records from the public. As a result, DeSantis is essentially free to use resources funded by Florida’s taxpayers to fuel his presidential aspirations. “It’s absurd that he’s using public resources and public infrastructure to campaign,” said state Rep. Anna Eskamani, (D-Orlando). “He’s using state resources to boost himself politically.” Eskamani acknowledged that, had it not been for the crash, no one would have known about DeSantis’ use of state vehicles. “It makes you wonder how often state vehicles and public employees are being used at out-of-state campaign events,” she said.

The Republican legislature will make a new bill to give him a pass.

Oh, they already did! https://www.orlandosentinel.com/2023/07/28/new-law-shields-desantis-campaigns-use-of-state-vehicles-to-campaign/

Fuckers.

And his voters will happily fork over their money to fund DeFascist's political ambition instead of anything that remotely helps the state of Florida.

One has to wonder how many of his supporters still support what he is doing?

He talks big, but everything he does has been overturned, causes directly attributed negative effects of the state, and they are dying off.

The problem (one of them anyways) with the GOP is a good chunk of their base has an end goal of establishing some kind of fundamentalist theocracy.

DeSantis rocked by Black Republican revolt over slavery comments

The bitter fight between Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Rep. Byron Donalds over a line about slavery in the state’s revised African American history standards is infuriating several prominent Black conservatives.

Several told POLITICO they fear the issue will play into Democrats’ characterization of Republicans as favoring a whitewashing of American history. Most saw it as an unforced error at the time when Black Republicans feel they’ve been making significant strides within the party.

That isn't just DeSantis. It's the ENTIRE Republican Party. It's what they stand for. Look at Republican campaign rally's and see how many Confederate Flags you see people waving around or on their cars. Tim Scott knows this, I've lived in South Carolina. The Confederacy is worshiped there.

Still finding it difficult to understand why any minority would have anything to do with Republicans.

4 years of Trump and *this* is the straw that breaks the camel's back? The whole thing is just another Republican charade of scoring points by kicking the weak kid while he's down. Fucking playground politics. If De Santis wasn't tanking they'd be licking his racist jackboots like the rest of them.

Ron DeSantis' Popularity Plunges to Lowest in Poll's History

on DeSantis' net approval rating has slumped to a new low of -24 according to an opinion survey, the worst it has been since the pollster started tracking the Florida governor in May 2022.

The Civiqs poll concluded that on July 26 some 57 percent of registered American voters had a negative view of DeSantis, versus just 33 percent with a positive impression and 10 percent who were unsure.

Because he's not likeable. He was always gonna crash and burn on a national stage. His popularity in Florida (also sinking) was manufactured with heavily stage-managed events. Once he had to interact with the public at large, his petty and weird personality was gonna come out.

Funny how it’s hard to be popular when all your ideas aren’t. When you have no proposals other than dismantling. When your goals are to break rather than build. When your theme is anti.

Ron DeSantis' popularity is a measure of the popularity of conservative policies. This is what conservatives have been telling us, that DeSantis is a real conservative who is the most effective Republican governor and their #1 superstar.

DeSantis is unpopular because conservatism is unpopular. Conservatism is unpopular with conservatives. They don't like their own shit, they just want to defeat their perceived enemies and they go to battle with ideas and policies that must be diametrically opposed to the Democrats, and they go along with those ideas and policies regardless of how agreeable they may or may not be. Conservatives have no values, so they craft a fantasy world that is in perpetual contradiction. They hate cancel culture, but they will boycott whatever at the drop of a hat. They want their own movies. They want their own news channels. They can't coexist in reality. It's all made up. Conservatism is a fake ideology.

Trump is Category 4 Legal Shitstorm

The New Evidence Against Donald Trump In The MAL Case Is BRUTAL

With reporters clustered at the DC federal courthouse awaiting a possible Trump indictment in the Jan. 6 case, Special Counsel Jack Smith’s team dropped a new bombshell in Florida in the Mar-a-Lago case: a superseding indictment that adds new charges against Trump himself, co-defendant Walt Nauta, and a new third defendant.

Let’s run through the top points quickly:

  • The number of counts in the indictment swelled from 38 to 42.
  • Trump was hit with an additional charge of willful retention of national defense information (now 32 counts on that charge, up from 31) for the Iran war plan document he allegedly flaunted at Bedminster.
  • The new defendant, a MAL worker named Carlos De Oliveira was added to the existing conspiracy to obstruct justice count, so now all three defendants are charged in this count. In addition, De Oliveira gets his own false statements count.
  • All three men were charged under a new count of altering, destroying, mutilating or concealing an object.
  • All three men were charged under a new count of corruptly altering, destroying, mutilating or concealing an object.

The additional charges mostly have to do with a brazen alleged attempt to delete security camera footage at MAL after it was subpoenaed by a DC federal grand jury – and wow! The feds have the goods on Trump.

It's an extremely interesting strategy to nominate a candidate that's in the midst of a plethora of legal investigations and upcoming indictments and then claim that the DOJ is purposefully attacking their party by continuing those investigations and indictments.

Like, what if next they nominate a death row inmate and then claim that the state is trying to murder their candidate?

He looks so guilty because there is so much evidence reveled in the indictments but i'm sure that's just a fraction of the total evidence and when you couple that with Trump's many public admissions, lies and changing contradictory excuses the it seems like the government has a lay down hand. Most unfortunately for Trump the government is playing the game like they don't have all the cards and keeps seeking and piling up more evidence and more charges.

Ex-Trump lawyer says evidence against him ‘overwhelming’ in Mar-a-Lago case

A former Trump White House lawyer said the evidence against the former president over his handling of classified documents was now “overwhelming” and would “last an antiquity”, after new charges were filed in the case on Thursday.

What’s insane is seeing and hearing how air tight this case is and people are still defending him and claiming it’s all a witch hunt. They can’t really believe it. They can’t.

The irony of Trump's baseless accusation of Hillary destroying her servers while he films his crimes and tries to destroy his servers is antiquital!

His supporters will never realise they are being conned by a man and a party doing their best to make their lives miserable.

t’s that sunk cost fallacy thing. These people have invested their lives and created entire “personalities” around loving Trump. Many of them have destroyed relationships with friends and family over Trump. Some of them will never see their kids or grandkids again because of their toxic cult behavior.

Imagine spending 7 years investing all of your free energy into something, then trying to cope with the fact you’ve actually wasted your time. They just can’t do it.

“So much worse”: Legal experts say new Trump indictment “reads just like organized crime activity”

Former President Donald Trump and two of his aides were hit with new charges in the Mar-a-Lago documents case on Thursday.

A grand jury in South Florida returned a superseding indictment adding four charges to the prior indictment against Trump and aide Walt Nauta. Another aide, Carlos De Oliveira, the Mar-a-Lago head of maintenance, was also added to the obstruction conspiracy charged in the original indictment.

The indictment alleges that De Oliveira told another employee that "the boss" wanted the server with Mar-a-Lago surveillance footage deleted and asked how long the footage was stored.

Oliveira's involvement and the IT guy (Trump employee 4) add SO much substance to Trump's criminality, it's insane. I'm sure people have read it by now, but I wanted to sum it up as shortly as I could, because just a few days of actions are basically a Scooby-Doo villain story and everyone involved is dead to rights:

  • June 22nd, 2022: DOJ emails Trump attorney draft subpoena for camera footage.
  • June 23rd: Trump calls Oliveira
  • June 24th: DOJ sends final subpoena
  • June 24th(Later that same day): Trump contacts Nauta, Nauta changes his travel plans to return to Florida. Nauta gives inconsistent explanations, explaining a "family emergency" and uses "shushing emojis" (lol)
  • June 24th(still the same day): Nauta and Oliveira contact IT guy
  • June 25th: Oliveira tells another employee to keep Nauta's trip a secret, and that they were trying to get security footage from IT guy.
  • June 25th: Nauta and Oliveira methodically walk around Mar-A-Lago with flashlights looking at various security locations, including the storage room (this is presumably caught on... security footage.)
  • June 27th: Oliveira tells IT guy to keep the conversation between them, asks how long security footage is held, and says Trump ("the boss") wants it deleted. IT guy resists.
  • June 27th(later that day): Oliveira walks "through the bushes" to go speak with Nauta, then back to IT guy, then back through the bushes to speak with Nauta.
  • June 27th(later that day): Trump calls Oliveria.
  • July: DOJ obtains surveillance footage.
  • August 8th: FBI searches Mar-A-Lago

And then an element that hasn't been described in the indictments yet is Oliveria FLOODED the server room with the swimming pool a few months later. It's just so over-the-top and ridiculous.

Donald Trump Is In a Category 4 Legal S--tstorm—That Could Soon Become Category 5

Donald Trump’s legal woes worsened Thursday as special counsel Jack Smith hit him with additional felony charges in the classified documents case—two for obstruction of justice and one additional violation of the Espionage Act for sharing a classified war plan with people who did not have security clearance. Among the explosive allegations in the superseding indictment: that Trump and two employees tried to “delete” Mar-a-Lago security camera footage that the Justice Department had requested. “The boss” wanted the server erased, maintenance worker Carlos De Oliveira allegedly told a fellow employee in June 2022. “What are we gonna do?”

He now has 74 felony incitements and counting. It’s on its way above 80 soon.

The federal indictments have him looking at almost 500 years in jail and the state indictments have him looking at about 50 years in jail.

When the other indictments come out he’s going to be looking at probably another 100+ years and a state RICO proceeding.

Maybe, just maybe, it’s because he just keeps breaking laws. Maybe he wouldn’t be in such legal jeopardy if he didn’t commit dozens and dozens of felonies.

If any one of us was charged with all the crimes Trump is charged with, we would be sitting in jail in pretrial detention. Trump is a much bigger flight risk than any of us. He has his own plane ffs. He has friends in Russia. He has connections inside the US government. The motherfucker even has mob connections. He is threatening prosecutors and judges. Trump needs to be imprisoned until trial. He is too dangerous to be left outside.

DeSantis thinks slavery was a skill program

Dear Ron DeSantis, slavery was not a job skills program

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis's presidential campaign is floundering, but his neofascist Orwellian thought crime campaign against teaching the real history of Black Americans – and America's real history more generally – is having great success nonetheless, as historian Keisha N. Blain outlines at MSNBC:

For example, according to the state's new guidelines, instructors will be expected to teach students that enslaved Black people "developed skills" that "could be applied for their personal benefit." Instructors are also expected to discuss "acts of violence perpetrated against and by African Americans" when teaching students about mob violence….Rather than offer its students courses that provide a full and honest accounting of the past, Florida is choosing to dishonestly keep its students ignorant of this country's (and that state's) history.

These new "educational standards" are actually using the Black freedom struggle to advance a project of white supremacy. DeSantis' administration and its agents are censoring books they deem to be anti-American, "woke" or contaminated with the "critical race theory mind virus". Florida is now targeting educators for harassment and intimidation, rewriting school curriculums and threatening to defund departments and courses if they cover subjects that "make white people uncomfortable" or "feel guilty." They are banning diversity, inclusion, and equity programs, and are attempting to end academic and intellectual freedom at Florida's universities and colleges as part of a larger plan to destroy liberal arts education (i.e. courses that teach critical thinking). Several weeks ago, for example, the Florida legislature passed a law that makes it illegal for Florida's colleges and universities to teach the fact that systemic and structural racism exists in American society.

Has anyone tried asking Ronnie, who owned the value created by the slaves skills? If a slave learns black smithing, who owns the horseshoes he makes? If a slave learns farming, who owns the crops? If a slave learns domestic work, whose house do they work in? If slaves were taught skills, it was only so that the owners could further exploit them.

So, let’s run with Meatball’s logic for a second. Some slaves were (forcibly) taught skills like blacksmithing or leather working or something else. Cool, okay, so how exactly is that a benefit, Ron? Could they quit their “job” and go find a new one that offers better pay? Oh, no? Hm. Turns out maybe they could use these skills a little bit on the side, if their literal owner allowed them to. Which wasn’t very often.

So where exactly does the benefit come from, Ron? Wtf is the point of job skills if you have zero agency? Pride in knowing you get to make horseshoes all day for the rest of your life, while worrying your family could get sold down the river without you at any moment? Cool, cool.

So, what about all the other enslaved people, millions of them, that only ever picked cotton? What about them? What sweet job skills did they learn? Arthritis? Bodily disfigurement from doing the same unnatural tasks day after day, forever? I suppose they don’t count in your little tale of uplift.

It’s a fucking stupid claim, backed up by stupid logic, crafted by hateful idiots.

Fuck this guy. And fuck Florida voters as well. Don’t let them off the hook. They foisted this mother fucker on us.

Ron DeSantis Snaps Back at Reporter Over Slavery Question in Tense Exchange

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis snapped at a reporter after being asked a question about slavery in a tense exchange during a campaign stop in Iowa on Thursday.

DeSantis, who is running for president, defended changes to Florida's newly passed school curriculum on how students will be taught Black history and slavery in particular.

The Florida Board of Education's new set of standards on how Black history is taught in public schools has faced criticism from both education and civil rights advocates.

The new standards require instruction for middle school students to include "how slaves developed skills, which in some instances, could be applied for their personal benefit," according to a document listing the standards. Critics have argued that this statement suggests there were positives to being enslaved and have called for students to be allowed to learn the full truth of American history and the atrocities of slavery.

Imagine making "slavery was good" the hill you die on.

He’s not important enough to have that kind of attitude. If you want to be president then a majority of the voters have to not hate your guts.

Every time DeSantis opens his mouth he proves everything’s bigger in Florida- especially the assholes.

Slavery should be taught as nothing more than the brutal and inhumane use of human beings as farm equipment against their will.

Supreme Ethics paid via Venmo

Clarence Thomas’ ethics mess goes from bad to worse

By any fair measure, Justice Clarence Thomas was already one of the U.S. Supreme Court’s most controversial members, even before this year got underway. But in recent months, the far-right jurist has faced a series of ethics questions that he and his allies have struggled to answer.

Over the last three months, ProPublica has taken the lead on exposing Thomas’ unusual and previously undisclosed ties to a Republican megadonor. Over the weekend, The New York Times took the story considerably further.

Let’s just call him “Clearance Thomas”, because he’s for sale cheap!

He won't be removed. But he needs to be impeached/censured and ethics rules and term limits need to be imposed. All Article III judges (and all federal employees) should be forced into senior status at 30 years of service, with an ad hoc ability to retire.

If you enforce those limits, he's off the SCOTUS. And Alito will be behind him shortly.

Impeachment with Republicans is a non-starter.

At this point we are dependent on election outcomes that change the majorities in the House and Senate to be overwhelmingly Democrat. Manchin and Sinema need to have no power in this either.

This country is beholden to a tiny amount of egotistical assholes.

There’s nothing anyone can do to him so why should he resign. He knows republicans don’t care as long as he’s for their agenda. With a dem president and senate nothing short of a Supreme Court judge passing will remove a republican appointee from the court.

The fact that people like Clarence Thomas still sit in their positions shows how imperfect the entire system is in the US.

No ethical oversight, no real rules and very little accountability for those who overstep the boundaries of their offices.

In a sane country, Trump would be detained pending trial, half the Supreme Court would be removed from their seats, and every member of the “Freedom” Caucus would be expelled from Congress. But nooooooo…

Investigation Uncovers More of Clarence Thomas’ Undisclosed Freebies from Wealthy Pals

CLARENCE THOMAS’ CONNECTIONS to wealth and expensive vacations run deeper than billionaire businessman and Nazi-enthusiast Harlan Crow. The New York Times reports that Thomas has milked relationships with the rich he made through the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans, a scholarship association, to benefit himself and his wife.

Because of their Horatio Alger connections, Thomas and his spouse, Virginia, have been invited to join luxurious vacations and parties in addition being granted V.I.P. access to sports events. Thanks to the association, Thomas also rubbed elbows with the likes of Oprah Winfrey and Ed McMahon during a lavish three-day Montana birthday party for billionaire industrialist Dennis Washington.

Each time the Court denies they need an ethics code, we find out more reasons why they do need one.

They'll either have to act to implement one themselves or they'll have to bend to accept external oversight. This issue has become far too salient to get swept under the rug.

Thomas has zero shame, so he won't be pressured into anything.

And I'll believe Thomas retires when I see it. I would wager quite a bit of money that he dies an active SCOTUS Justice.

Lawyers with supreme court business paid Clarence Thomas aide via Venmo

Several lawyers who have had business before the supreme court, including one who successfully argued to end race-conscious admissions at universities, paid money to a top aide to Justice Clarence Thomas, according to the aide’s Venmo transactions. The payments appear to have been made in connection to Thomas’s 2019 Christmas party.

The payments to Rajan Vasisht, who served as Thomas’s aide from July 2019 to July 2021, seem to underscore the close ties between Thomas, who is embroiled in ethics scandals following a series of revelations about his relationship with a wealthy billionaire donor, and certain senior Washington lawyers who argue cases and have other business in front of the justice.

The Constitution has been amended 27 times. Of our 3 branches of govt only the Judicial Branch hasn't been changed. We changed the Executive Branch by instituting term limits not originally in the Constitution. We changed the Legislative Branch by capping the House of Representatives at 435 members.

Yet when it comes to a SCOTUS some attempt to the constitution as a cudgel. Demand that because the constitution does not explicitly prohibit things like the Federalist Society and Justices mingling with Billionaires who have business before the court there is nothing that can be done.

In my opinion the two biggest problems with the court at the moment are that it (SCOTUS) selects which cases they will hear and there are no official rules of ethics with an enforcement component.

Edward Blum is a Republican activist who specializes in overturning portions of the civil rights act through the Supreme Court. He is responsible for 2013's Shelby County v Holder supreme court case and the recent Harvard Affirmative Action case. Blum has been before SCOTUS with cases several times.

SCOTUS chooses which cases to hear and magically always chooses to hear Blum's cases. Even when Blum has repeatedly lost in all lower court rulings as was the case in Shelby County and Harvard.

SCOTUS is petitioned to hear over 7,000 cases per year and only accepts about 100 cases or 1.5% of requests. Yet somehow people like Blum get repeatedly before the court. It is ridiculous. There should be a separate panel of circuit court justices that recommend cases to the Supreme Court. Justices shouldn't control which cases they want to hear.

There are already ethical standards and rules with enforceable components for Federal Justices. Those rules just don't apply to the Supreme Court. This is clearly an oversight and not some useful thing the all knowing Founding Father's purposefully did for some virtuous reason. Simply change the law so those ethics cover SCOTUS.

These are not hard lifts. These are not changes that are partisan and by design favor a political party. These are changes which would simply make the system hard to corrupt..

That didn't take long

TEXANS DIE FROM HEAT EXHAUSTION AFTER GOVERNOR BANS WATER BREAKS

s a part of a bill critics have dubbed the “Death Star” bill—an expansive law that preempts legislation in eight key areas of local government—the Legislature has overridden local ordinances that require giving workers water breaks. Otherwise known as House Bill 2127, it was signed into law by Governor Greg Abbott on June 6.

I realize that OSHA and labor laws in general have become an absolute joke over the past few years, but there's absolutely no way that banning employees from having access to water at work is actually legal.

Do Texans realize their politicians have basically put their population up for sale? Because that's what's happening.

They don’t care as long as they gets lots of guns and no libruls. This is especially true when it comes to the blue collar workers who are impacted by this law. Maybe next time vote on issues other than “don’t California my Texas!” and things might start to improve.

The irony being that if we california'd their texas, they'd have higher wages, more breaks, union protections, and better schools. they'd be safer, too. You're 25% less likely to be in a mass shooting in CA than in TX.

Republicans want Americans dead. Change my mind.

Republicans want slaves. Death is a byproduct. It'd be a bonus for them if the slaves didn't die due to hazardous and miserable conditions, but it is an acceptable loss - you can always get a new slave.

There's actually only a couple of Texas cities that have the ten minute water break every four hours law. It's not a state-wide rule.

This is the GOP taking away cities' ability to set thier own policies (like a town refusing to prosecute women who have had an abortion, like removing Harris County's ability to oversee thier elections).

But Abbott deserves every bit of bad press he gets.

Before this bill passed, cities could create ordinances/laws that said construction companies with workers working under high heat would have to allow the workers to stop working periodically so they can drink water.

This bill strips the right of the city to make those ordinances.

Lawsuit seeks to end new law signed by Greg Abbott banning water breaks after Texas heat wave deaths

Officials in Houston, Texas, filed a lawsuit on Monday looking to keep the state from enforcing an oppressive law critics have dubbed the "Death Star" bill.

House Bill 2127 is set to go into effect on Sept. 1 after Republican Gov. Greg Abbott signed it into law on June 6, according to MSNBC's "The ReidOut" blog. The new law restricts local governments by preventing them from passing certain ordinances if they contradict state laws in eight key areas: agriculture, finance, business and commerce, insurance, local government, labor, natural resources, property or occupations.

"Because of HB 2127's vagueness, Houston will not know with any certainty what laws it may enforce, and its residents and businesses will not know with certainty what laws they must obey," the suit reads.

Yes, that is the intent.

The purpose of this is make sure Democratic leaning areas have to check with thier Republican overlords and get thier approval before they can proceed.

The GOP: We want you to die. No really. Die of overheating, thirst, lack of medical care, and zero work place protections. We’ll replace you with child labor!

The Democrats: Let’s make healthcare slightly more affordable! We don’t hate gays. Women are people.

And yet there is a substantial portion of the population that is convinced the Democratic Party is the demonic one.
