Republicans for the veteran

Republicans Praise Veterans After Voting Against Health Care Benefits

As the nation celebrates Veterans Day, members of Congress have shared statements honoring those who served our country.

Several Republicans and Democrats alike have praised veterans Friday—including the 11 GOP lawmakers who voted against a law to increase health care benefits to vets.

Congress passed the Sergeant First Class Heath Robinson Honoring our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics Act, known as the PACT Act, in August.

A preemptive post for those who will try to defend the GOP senators.

Here’s the bill.

Show us where all the “pork” and unrelated items are. If you want to claim there is a budget “gimmick” please explain how increasing mandatory spending on veteran’s healthcare magically creates an extra $400B for discretionary spending. Explain why the GOP senators voted for it, then against it, then for it again without any substantive changes to the bill.

Go for it.

"We will do anything for vets, as long as it doesn't involve doing something"

Republican party

Or the long version

  • "We will do anything for vets, as long as:
  • It wasn't introduced by the libs
  • It doesn't involve government funding
  • It doesn't involve universal Healthcare
  • It doesn't raise taxes
  • It doesn't interfere with tax cuts for corporations
  • It doesn't interfere with tax cuts for billionaires
  • It is discretionary so we can opt out of it ant time we please
  • It doesn't go to any of you gays
  • It doesn't go to any of the 45,000 service members that are not US citizens
  • It wasn't caused by any alleged pollutants that could be part of any environmental protection claims
  • It doesn't interfere with free access to cheap labor
  • It doesn't involve pork, such as health care, treatment, or medication
  • And you're not a loser
