Known man for not paying his bills still got lawyers?

Trump's lawyers are brainstorming how to fend off a criminal case from the DOJ if he is charged: report

Former President Donald Trump's legal team is preparing for the possibility of Trump being criminally charged by the Justice Department, according to Rolling Stone.

The outlet spoke to three people familiar with the matter and looked at written communications regarding the issue.

Imagine doing all that legal work to defend a former POTUS and then just not getting paid for it.

The lawyers are being paid by the RNC under the condition that Trump doesn't announce any candidacy before the midterms. Sounds like they are holding him at arms length for fear of him tanking the midterms.

Their strategy will be to stall it as long as possible and hope someone gets elected to make it all go away.

Trump’s Lawyers Are Preparing Legal Defenses Against Criminal Charges

Donald Trump’s lawyers are preemptively preparing a legal defense against criminal charges from the Justice Department, as the former president’s lawyers are increasingly anxious that their client will be prosecuted for his role in the attempt to overturn the 2020 election.

Members of the ex-president’s legal team have already begun brainstorming strategy and potential defenses, according to three people familiar with the matter and written communications reviewed by Rolling Stone. Trump himself has been briefed on potential legal defenses on at least two occasions this summer, two of the sources say.

That effort intensified after former Trump White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson’s June testimony before the House committee investigating Jan. 6.

Can’t wait to hear these defenses…

“John Baron stole my phone so I couldn’t call in the National Guard to stop the insurrection and wrote the scripts that I mindlessly recited calling for election fraud!”

It’s mind boggling how much of the nation’s time this moron has wasted with his incessant bullshit.

Mistake of law is no defense, especially as you say when you intentionally seek out poor counsel. I wonder if a judge would even allow this argument at trial

The fact that a source in the article says an advice of counsel defense would be a "big one" tells me they have no defense. Bannon tried the same thing and he wasn't even allowed to raise it at trial because it is criminal law 101.

Trump will try the immunity defense but the Supreme Court probably won't give him that. My thinking is his ultimate out is a variation of the Oliver North defense. The defense will be that he cannot be tried because no jury can be picked since everyone is a witness to the crime. I think that is why DOJ will ultimately charge him with something like the false electors which doesn't involve something Trump said publicly and it is harder to claim that every juror witnesses the crime.

Trump Blames Pelosi, D.C. Mayor Bowser for Jan. 6 Capitol Riot

Former President Donald Trump blamed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser for the events that unfolded during last year's Capitol riot.

"January 6th is her [Bowser] and Nancy's fault. 'No, I'm not kidding' (as Joe Bidden would say!)," Trump said Sunday on his social media platform, Truth Social.

The ex-president's post included his earlier comments that criticized Bowser for asking the National Guard to help deal with migrants being transported to D.C., alleging that she refused to do so during the Capitol riot.

No.

The D.C. National Guard is the only National Guard unit, out of all of the 54 states and territories, which reports only to the President.

Trump is angry that Fox News is ignoring him and focusing on other potential 2024 candidates, report says

Former President Donald Trump is reportedly angry that Fox News is no longer putting him front and center in its coverage, according to The New York Times.

The Times reported that it would be more than 100 days since the former president was last interviewed by the network.

Fox News, which Trump appeared on around eight times more than any other TV channel during his presidency, is instead focusing on other potential candidates for the Republican nomination in 2024, per the newspaper.

Instead of broadcasting a July 22 Trump rally in Arizona, Fox News aired a Laura Ingraham interview with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, The Times said.

It won't last. Remember Fox hated Trump... right up until he won the primary and then they tripped over themselves to lick his taint.

He's also suing CNN for using the phrase "The Big Lie" and accurately reporting that Trump did indeed lose the election and tried to overturn the results.

Both great reasons for wasting more taxpayer dollars.
